Elisabeth's POV:

We got back into Luna's car. The others were chatting away about Christmas. But my mind kept going back to Glacier. I hope she was okay! I haven't seen that side of her in a long time.

"Penny for your thoughts, Els!" Scarlet gently nudged me.

"What are we talking about?" I asked, blinking away sleep that suddenly crept in.

"The fact that we are going out tomorrow with Maria," said Winter. "We hope Glacier will be okay enough to come."

"I'll check when we get back." I said. "Luna's dropping Scarlet and Alaska home first."

"David took Shelby home." Scarlet nodded. "Button was getting a bit jealous that Shelby looked after Glacier."

"Silly dog," I sighed. "We need to work on that for sure!"

"David said she's booked in to dog training," said Luna. "Both in Mill Brook and here!"

"Maybe she's forgetting her training from the hospital," I said. "In her six years things have been tough!"

"I thought it was seven?" Scarlet questioned. "Anyway! I'm sure that the dogs will get along. It's not like Button!"

I nodded in agreement.

I opened the door to mine and Glacier's room. To my surprise, Glacier was sitting on the floor, hugging Button. She was telling her off in Spanish. I walked over to her.

"Glace!" I said. "I thought you were sleeping?"

"No, I couldn't!" Admitted Glacier turning towards my voice. "Naughty Button here growled at Shelby."

I sighed.

"What?" Glacier sounded surprised. "What's wrong?"

"She's changed," I said. "Those two were buddies."

"I'm sure they'll make up!" Glacier said wisely. "Most friends do. Whether your are Dog or human or any type of species."

She sighed and managed to stand up. She had got changed into her pyjamas.

"Good girl!" I said, noticing. "Did you remember to do it?"

"Dad reminded me," admitted Glacier looking down. "I snuck on the Xbox while you were out!"

"What did you play?" I asked.

"That racing game," said Glacier. "I managed to get us more points."

She had a smile on. I hugged her.

"What?" She asked.

"You need to let me help!" I told her. "But well done!"

Glacier giggled. She had the most cutest giggle!

"We all got you a little something," I said putting my hand in my handbag that I took out with me, but left in the car.

"All four of you?" Glacier asked.

"Yeah," I said. "We wanted to put your mind off of that text!"

Glacier nodded. "Anything to help!"

She sat on the edge of her bunk and Button lay at her feet. I found my little treat. It was a small plush husky keyring. I thought she could have it on her bag.

"Put your hand out, Glacie!" I said gently tapping the floor with my free hand.

Glacier did so, finding the plush. She knelt on the floor and looked so happy!

"Thank you!" She said grinning.

"I will get the girls to give their ones in the morning," I said. "But I wanted to give mine now!"

I hugged Glacier who smiled.

"Thank you, Els!" She said.

She put her head on my shoulder.

"It's okay," I said. "I missed you, so much over that last few weeks!"

"We needed to do that, though!" Glacier said, kindly. "You weren't in the right frame of mind. But she's gone now. You don't have to worry about them all!"

"What about Mr Pidge, though?" I asked, feeling dread.

"Let's not worry about that, now!" Glacier said. "It's Christmas. It's about family and friends. Not our enemies!"

I giggled. "That's true!"

Glacier's alarm went off.

"Here," I said finding her medication. "I better take mine too!"

"You have more?" Glacier looked confused.

"To help me sleep," I admitted.

"Ah," said Glacier.

She took her set of tablets and found her cup of water. I watched as she swallowed. Then I did the same.

"I'm going to bed," I said. "And I think you should too! Button, basket!"

Button obeyed and trotted to her corner. Glacier slid into her bunk and I tucked her in.

"Night," Glacier whispered.

I hugged her.

"Night Glace!" I whispered back. "Love you!"

"Love you, too!" Glacier curled up and fell asleep.

I quietly got into my pyjamas and climbed up the ladder to my bed. I lay down, then fell asleep.

Hello! Here is chapter 54!. Wow! This book is almost as long as book 1.

Hope you enjoyed it so far. We are half way through this book. And there are plenty of more books in this series.

Chapter 55 is their Christmas celebrations up until chapter 60. Then back to normal and School. But that sad day is creeping up for them. I know which chapter it'll be in. Won't tell you.
