Chapter 52: Searching for the best present.

Alaska's POV:

Scarlet disappeared over to a stall next to the one where she bought the plushy. I noticed that she was examining something closely. I left Winter and Elsa and approached Scarlet.

"Look at this, Wolfie!" Scarlet turned to me. "I was thinking of getting one for Shelby! You can customise it!"

I grinned.

"Let's have a look!" I smiled. "What does Shelby like? Maybe I can help."

Together, we picked things for Shelby. We got her some turkey and cheese bones, a new ball, a crinkly toy that was shaped into a Santa dog and a bandana. Scarlet paid for it and we returned to Luna, Elsa and Winter.

"That's a cute idea," said Elsa, seeing the dog stocking. "Maybe I should do that from me and Glacier for Button."

"Good idea," said Luna. "I'll go with you. You three wait here."

We nodded and watched as Luna and Elsa went to the dog stockings stall was. I looked at the plushy stall again.

"We have the dog, remember," said Scarlet.

"I know," I sighed. "But I'm not sure what to get Glacier. I feel sad that it could be our last Christmas together, Scar."

"We know," said Winter hugging me. "But we all will make it the best. For you and Glacier. Make it a memory."

I continued to look at the plushy stall, suddenly seeing a horse one. I knew Glacier loved her horse riding.

"Alaska," said Scarlet. "Maybe we come back this way if we haven't found anything."

"Okay," I said, redrawing my gaze at the horse plush.

"Here they come," said Winter, as Luna and Elsa came back.

"They are a sweet idea," said Luna. "I think the dogs will love them, girls!"

Elsa saw me.

"What's wrong?" She asked. "You look sad!"

Scarlet and Winter went on ahead with Luna. I sighed, looking at the blond.

"I hate it that I could not make it to next Christmas, Els!" I admitted. "I hate that I can't be with Glacier all the time. We have only got reunited. Life sucks."

Elsa put an arm round me.

"It'll be okay," she reassured me. "You still have months, they said!"

"I know," I sighed. "But who knows."

"Cheer up, Wolfie!" Elsa lightly punched my arm. "Pull yourself together. It's Christmas! Let's not wallow in worry!"

I knew she was right. I took a deep breath and let it out.

"Let's go and find more presents," said Elsa.

She lead me round the crowds of people. Then we found the others. They were looking at some clothes.

"These dresses look amazing," said Winter. "My sort of dress!"

I stared closely at the dresses. They were low-cut, with a long skirt. I inwardly gagged. I was not a fan of those sort.

"Do you want one?" Scarlet asked her. "They do suit you!"

Winter nodded. Luna turned to us.

"I think some food is needed," she said. "We seem to be sad, tonight."

"I'm fine," I lied.

"Not even a snack?" Luna asked. "That will cheer you up, Alaska!"

I shrugged. I knew she was right!

"We will find something special from you for Glacier," said Luna. "I promise."

I nodded and we set off to MacDonalds.

***

After we ate, I felt better. My mind was now fixed on finding my presents for the girls.

"Right," said Luna. "I will take you one at a time to pick out presents. I know Scarlet's done hers for Glacier. But she still has the rest of you to do!"

Scarlet nodded.

"Let Alaska go in first," she said. "She needs to find something very special!"

I nodded. Luna took my hand and squeezed it.

"Let's get your presents, then!" She said.

We walked into the shopping centre. I felt excited, suddenly. It was lit up, even in here. Similarly to outside. It felt like magic!

A/N:

We will find out what each girl got for one another in a later chapter.

Hope you enjoyed the last four chapters. Chapter 53 will be out at some point next week.

Don't expect anything on Christmas Eve or day. I will be very busy.

I reckon chapter 54 will be up this weekend, too! But then there will be a wait. Sorry about that.

Wolfie out!
