Midnight's POV:

I hated seeing Glacier, Elsa, Scarlet and Alaska scared. Anna and Raven were looking concerned. The dogs were growling.

"We will be okay," I said to Alaska who was shaking. "This will be your chance to pay your mother back for what she did!"

"But how?" Alaska whimpered.

"Shush, honey," I said putting my arms round her tightly. "Everything's going to be okay! I promise. We and everyone else here can fight against them."

"Midnight," said Glacier. "Are you saying you will help us?"

The other four girls looked hopefully at me. Alaska buried her head into my shoulder. I patted her gently on the shoulder.

"Yes, Glace!" I said. "You need me to help. I reckon it's not just Emily and Diana this time round."

"Don't want you to ..."

"... nonsense," I said interupting Alaska mid sentence. "You girls need me, too!"

The dogs barked and growled. Scarlet who was holding both leashes looked like she was struggling to hold them.

"Girls," she said straining to hold them back. "Stay! Heal!"

Both dogs didn't look like they heard her. Then I saw shadows of people coming up to us.

"Run, girls," I whispered to them.

Elsa and Glacier didn't have to question me. They turned and ran up towards the pool. Anna and Raven were on their tail. Scarlet struggled with Button and Shelby.

"Want me to take Button, Scarlet?" I asked. "Me and Alaska can take her."

Scarlet handed me the older dog's leash and then she and Shelby fled up the path behind the others. Button strained at her leash. Alaska put a hand on her head.

"Shush, girl!" She whispered to the husky cross.

Luna and George looked at us.

"You run, too!" Said Luna. "We will get the police and ring for an amblance just in case!"

"Thank you," we said.

then Button pulled at the leash pulling the two of us up the path. Alaska gripped my hand as we ran..

"It'll be okay, Alaska," I told her.

"I'm scared, Mid!" Alaska panted. "They are here! What are we going to do?"

I saw the others ahead. Glacier and Elsa somehow got into the building where the pool was. Is that a good idea?  Scarlet, Raven and Anna followed them into the building. Shelby leading Scarlet inside. I felt my blood run cold as we saw the door closing. Scarlet turned and held the door.

"Run, you three!" She called. "Button, Come!"

The dog tugged and made us sprint up the path. Alaska clung tighter to my hand, almost crying again. I could tell she was going pale.

Once inside, we all breathed a sigh of relief, for now!

"Do you think we lost them?" Anna asked.

"Don't know," said Glacier. "Hopefully."

"Where should we hide?" Scarlet asked, looking at Alaska's shaking form. "Wolfie looks so pale and frightened."

Shelby suddenly growled. Her fur stood up from her head to her tail. Her ears were straiight up and her eyes were on the door we just walked through. Button looked like she wanted to drag Alaska to the girl's changing rooms. Elsa was also tensed. Glacier and the younger girls didn't know what to do.

"Help?" Alaska whimpered.

"Come, Wolfie," said Elsa taking her from me and taking her and Button into the changing rooms. "We will be safe in here."

"Should we come, too?" Raven asked.

"Only if something goes wrong," said Elsa. "Come to my voice, Glace!"

Glacier nodded and followed her girlfriend and twin into the changing rooms.

"Er ... this is awkward," said Anna.

"We need to protect the Baker twins and Elsa," said Raven. "Right, Midnight and Scarlet?"

We nodded. Anna didn't look convinced. Shelby was still growling. Button stayed with us, too! Both dogs growled.

"Please, don't open the door," Scarlet sighed. "We don't need this."

"We aren't in swimming clothes," said Anna suddenly. "What if someone needs to go swimming?"

"The dogs can," said Scarlet.

Shelby was ready to throw herself at the bitches. I could see them in the window. They were holding a shot gun. Scarlet saw it and felt angry.

"Not again," she hissed. "That's the very gun they shot me with last time, Midnight!"

I gasped and looked at her.

"Are you sure you don't want to hide with the other three?"

Scarlet shook her head. "I'm going to stand up to them, Midnight. I am going to show them that an orphan can fight her own battles."

I nodded. Then smiled. "You go, girl!"

We smiled, then the door opened. Anna and Raven looked frightened as the witches came into the hallway. I felt my stomach clench. So this is the duo that distroied everyone's lives?

A/N:

Chapter 19 will be quite an eventful chapter. Someone does get hurt. But not spoiling it. Or you can guess.

Is it going to be Midnight, Scarlet, Raven or Anna who are outside the changing rooms,

Or one of the three girls in the changing rooms. Let me know in the comments who you think it might be.

And one of the dogs will also be harmed. Out of Button and Shelby, who you think gets hurt?
