A Favor

Lennox searched the hallways. The girl wasn't at her locker, wasn't in the bathroom. She became frustrated. Not because she cared about being late to class, but rather because she was eager to get her revenge. The bell rang. It was official, she was late. Her fingers flex by her sides as she sighed, ready to give up. Then, she saw the person she been been looking for walk out of a classroom.

Brandi's honey brown eyes met hers, startled. She stood still, hall pass dangling from her left hand, as Lennox approached her.

"Do you want to get back at Isla?"

Brandi silently nodded.

Lennox smirked, glancing around the deserted hallway. "Let's talk somewhere more private."

Brandi just nodded, and they made their way to the nearest bathroom. Once inside, they checked each of the stalls. All clear. Lennox stood in the middle of the bathroom, arms crossed, as Brandi regarded her with curiosity. To Lennox's right were three sinks, behind her the few stalls, and in front of her the door. It smelt like perfume, which Lennox was glad for.

"How can I get back at her?" Brandi asked, eyebrows furrowed and arms crossed. "Why do you want to help me?"

"We'll help each other," Lennox replied simply. She felt excitement bubbled within her. For once, she felt completely in control. Well, almost completely. She hoped Brandi would help, but she had a feeling she would.

Brandi stared at her for a moment before nodding.

She smirked. "Do you know Isla had been cheating on her boyfriend?"

Brandi gasped, blinking a few times. "Of all the things she's done, I didn't think that would be one of them."

She shrugged. "Well, she did. I know you're good at hacking, so I was wondering if you could help me get proof."

"Just tell me a date, and I'll look."

Lennox smirked. Satisfaction filled her as she walked past Brandi to the door. "Isla cheats several times a week."

"How do you know?"

"I caught her once. If one thing about her hasn't changed, it's that. I've seen her recently. The janitor's closet by the English class." Lennox prepared to leave, then she sighed. "Oh, and thanks."

"Thank you. This is the perfect revenge. I'll leak videos tonight, post posters in the morning."

This was going better than Lennox could've thought. A giddy feeling bubbled in her stomach. Isla was finally going to get what she deserved. She was finally going to see the consequences of her actions. She couldn't lie. "Oh, and they make out against the lockers. Don't forget that."

Lennox turned her head to see Brandi nodded, smirking.

"What do I owe you for the favor?"

Brandi waves a hand. "You're the one doing me a favor. You're not so bad."

Lennox sighed. "You're not either." She knew Brandi had never been horrible. She knew she had tried being nice to her after she left Isla's group. She wouldn't admit it. She still couldn't be friends with her. However, she had recently learned a lot about others, a lot about friendship. She wouldn't be so mean.

Lennox swung open the door, making her exit. An extra bounce could be found in her step; a wide smile lighting up her face. Lennox had rarely smiled since the fiscal with Isla, but things were turning around for her. For the better. The next morning, Isla would have what she had coming. Isla would feel the pain she'd inflicted upon others. Lennox would finally win, putting her past to rest. These thoughts ran through her head as she opened the door to her first class, not caring about being marked tardy.

Trey approached her before lunch started. Teens were rushing towards the cafeteria in a mob, and Trey might've pulled her aside if she didn't scare him, she thought. They walked away from the herd, glancing around for a sign of Faith.

"What did you do?" He asked, eagerness present in his gaze.

Lennox smirked. "I asked someone who also hates Isla for a favor. Tomorrow morning, Isla gets what's coming to her."

Trey's eyes lit up and his lips stretched into a grin. "That's amazing. What, exactly, is going to happen to Isla?"

"You'll have to wait and find out." With that, she walked towards the cafeteria, the bounce still in her step. By now, the hallway had cleared out, and she cherished the personal space now available.

Someone bumped her on the arm. Hey, Lex!

She beamed at Faith. "Hey! Why are you so late?

Had to stop by my locker.

Lennox nodded. They entered the cafeteria. Trey was waiting in line for his food. Lennox figured he'd be sitting with them.

Faith and Lennox headed to the table, plopping down and pulling their lunches out of their bags. Trey joined them a few minutes later, plopping down next to Faith. Faith beamed at him, her eyes brightening as she scooted closer to him. Lennox was glad her friend was happy. She was also glad that Isla would be taken care of.

Trey and Faith talked up a storm. Faith speedily typed on her phone, and Trey would talk and talk until she wrote up a reply.Lennox watched them for a while. She watched the way their arms brushed and their smiles widened. She felt like they'd start dating soon, and she'd support them. Faith deserve someone who cared about her as much as Trey did.

Lennox glanced around. Isla and her friends sat at their normal table. They seemed so happy. Isla's boyfriend sat beside her, laughing at something she had said. He had dark features from his skin to his hair. He had no idea Isla had been cheating on him, and that almost made Lennox feel bad for him. Almost. Then, she remembered the fact that he was mean to her. She remembered his sneer and his egotistical smirk  His gaze meet Lennox's and both of their eyes narrowed. She wasn't doing this to help him.

Lennox finished her food. She played on her phone, leaving the couple to their own devices. Then, the bell rang, and they headed to their next class.
