Looking Up

It was several days before Dean and Castiel discussed the kiss that had happened. It was during their lapses of silence that Castiel had spoke about it suddenly, making Dean furrow his eyebrows.

"What does it mean for us now?" Castiel asked, rubbing a hand through his mostly gone hair. The TV played softly in the background, forgotten by the two teens during their conversation.

"What does what mean?" Dean asked, tipping his head as he watched Castiel shifting uncomfortably. After a moment of patient silence, Castiel finally replied.

"The kiss. What does it mean?" Castiel asked, and Dean found the fear and hope in the sick teen's eyes. Dean tensed sightly, looking down and rubbing the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle.

"I don't think it should mean anything, not until you're better." Dean said, reaching out and taking Castiel's hand. "I think I can control myself until then."

Castiel linked their fingers together, staring down at their hands with a fascination. Dean frowned when he realized how pale Castiel actually looked compared to himself. "I get out of the hospital next week. Will you visit me at home? Can I visit you?" Castiel asked, looking up at Dean with soft eyes.

Dean felt his hear begin to race and nodded, running his thumb along Castiel's knuckles. "Of course I will. We can go out and have some fun.

Dean commented, smiling at the boy before him.

"I can't wait." Castiel replied, a small smile crossing his face. There was a knock at the door, making them both let go as the door opened a moment later. Gabriel walked in, a smile on his face.

"Hey-ya Cassie. Hey squirrel." Gabriel said, a smirk replacing the smile as he made his way over to Castiel's bed. He gave his older brother a gently hug before pulling away and sitting in the chair beside Dean.

"So, when's the wedding?" Gabriel asked, pulling up his legs into the seat in a criss-cross position before pulling out a sucker, popping it into his mouth. Both Dean and Castiel looked at him in confusion.

""Wedding? The hell you talking about?" Dean asked, furrowing his eyebrows. Gabriel snorted at their confusion, waving his hand around dramatically.

"I saw you two holding hands. Obviously there's something more going on here other than this buddy-buddy act you've been trying to pull." Gabriel said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, rocking back and forth much like you'd imagine a kid would. Dean could only stare at him in shock.

"I...we...I mean..uh...." Dean stammered, trying to come up with anything to divert Gabriel from these thoughts, He looked to Castiel for help, but found that the boy was just as flustered as he was.

Gabriel only laughed, his eyes bright with amusement. "Come on, no point in hiding it. I bet you guys have already kissed and everything." Gabriel announced, a knowing smile on his face. Dean nor Castiel said anything, but they didn't need to by the way their blushes revealed everything.

"So you have?! How cute!" Gabriel exclaimed, giving them a thumbs up. Dean was bright red by this point and Castiel's eyes were wide. The younger Novak, of course, continued talking.

"I bet it was Cassie who initiated it. Dean doesn't seem like the type to be able to do that kind of thin. Of course, that'll mean he's the bottom-"Gabriel got cut off by a growl from Dean, an offended expression crossing his face.

"Excuse you? What makes you think that?" Dean asked with an arched eyebrow, an unamused look across his face. Gabriel only whistled innocently before his grin turned wicked.

"All I'm saying is that you're so far in the closet, you found Narnia." Gabriel said, shrugging. Dean blushed, glaring at the younger boy, only to give Castiel a look of betrayal when he heard him snicker.

"I can initiate a kiss if I wanted. Easy. Dean said stubbornly, glaring at the both of them. Gabriel smirked as if it were a challenge, rubbing his imaginary beard.

"Then do it. Right here, right now." Gabriel said, leaning back in his seat. Both Dean and Castiel blushed, exchanging nervous glances.

"Now?" Dean asked, biting at his lip as a sudden shyness came forwards. Castiel looked like he felt the same, which gave the Winchester some relief.

"Yes, now, or you're a coward." Gabriel said, knowing that would get Dean going. The Winchester nodded, swallowing nervously before standing up and getting closer to Castiel.

He stared down at the boy, searching his eyes for anything that would stop him. Finding nothing but excitement and nervousness, he found his hand sliding along Castiel's cheek, holding him in place as Dean leaned down, pressing his lips against Castiel's, coaxing a response from the teen.

Barely moments after it began, they pulled away, Castiel's arms somehow finding their was around Dean's neck. Dean smiled at the blushed boy before turning his head, looking at the wide-eyed Gabriel.

"Too cute for words." Was all that Gabriel say, making Dean smirk before turning back to the boy he was falling for.
