A Day to Remember

The pews were lined with smiling people, each one dressed in their best as the warm melody of marriage began playing. Dean smiled over at Castiel, excitement shining in both of their faces as they turned, facing the altar and pastor.

Gabriel and Sam stood in between them, smiling at each other with a love that was unrivaled, their hands linked together. Dean wiggled his eyebrows at his brother, who rolled his eyes before turning to look at the pastor as he began speaking.

"Queerly beloved-" The pastor began, a small snicker from Gabriel coming through his words for a moment. Dean chuckled under his breath, knowing that the trickster just had to have added that in, "we are gathered here today to join together in holy patrimony."

Dean's eyes wandered over to Castiel, not hearing anymore of the words of the ceremony as he looked at Castiel. The boy's hair was back, wild and unruly as when he first met him six years ago. Castiel met his gaze, a grin splitting his face as his tongue poked out cutely in his amusement. Dean felt his heart flutter, and he had to glance down at the ground, running his hand over his slacks.

The ceremony went on and on, and Dean found himself growing restless by how much the pastor was talking. Still, he forced himself to pay attention, and it was worth it when Sam cast him a nervous glance, a smile playing on his face.

Finally,  the young couple kissed, making Dean grin from ear to ear as he saw Gabriel nibble on Sam's lips, making the boy blush as they pull away. They pulled each other into a hug, and Dean couldn't help but glance at Castiel, shifting and looking down at the small bulge in his jacket pocket.

Castiel and Dean rested against the wall of the building, listening to the party going on inside quietly. Dean was nervous, rubbing the back of his neck nervously as Castiel squeezed his hand.

"Are you okay, Dean?" Castiel asked, his voice soft as he rested his chin on Dean's shoulder. Dean looked over at him, blushing as he stared at his deep  blue eyes. "You've been quiet. It's not like you."

"I just...want to ask you something, but it's sort of embarrassing." Dean mumbled, pecking Castiel on the nose gently and sticking his free hand in his pocket, his fingers clasping the small velvet box he had there. Castiel raised one eyebrow curiously, tipping his head.

"What is it?" Castiel asked. "You can tell me anything you know."

"I just wanted to say that.....you're everything to me, and you taught me how to be human again. I can't even imagine my life without you, and I want you to be with me until the end of time." Dean said, his heart hammering in his chest as he crouched down on one knee, pulling it out the box and holding out to the shocked Castiel.

"Will you marry me?" Dean asked, chewing on his lip as he opened the box, revealing the ring made of soft silver metal and blue and green rock that wrapped around it. Castiel let out a soft gasp, tears falling down his face as he wrapped his arms around Dean, letting out a soft whine.

"I love you Dean. Yes!" Castiel said, holding tightly to Dean as he hugged him back, letting out a light laugh that sprinkled the air with hope.
