They went inside the secret room that was buried years ago, during WWII, from investigating the mysterious room, he saw six artifacts staches on the wall that were still active. In the main room, he sees some Requiem personnel lying dead all over the room.

The sniper fires at him behind the wreck, as Zakhaev dodge the bullet as he got snipe.

Zakhaev opened the case, and grabbed one of the Aether Vial, he knew, he must do is to unleash the Aether by throwing to the air to the ground and then make his run to the armored vehicle as the Aether Vial was throw by Zakhaev in the air, while the sniper gun Zakhaev but easily shot on his arm, next the vials began to impact on the ground in slow motion. Vladimir Zakhaev gets up, but sniper shot the soldier on the head and finally made it to the armor vehicle, and shut the door when he hit the vials on the ground as Gregory and Vladimir Zakhaev watch. The Vial was impact on the ground, as the glass cracks, and the ground turned into crystalize of dark purple, and then explosion of dark purple smoke and hearing the zombie moan, causing the massive wave of Dark purple clouds, all over the town of Augsburg, infecting the Polizei and Special Forces and Stasi agents (Only few manage to mask themselves and hide). The four surviving Stasi agent with mask hiding in the garbage watched their comrades infected the mysterious purple gas but not ELID, as he hear them coughing struggling to regain their strength, suddenly, Gregory and Vladimir Zakhaev shocked to see a dead soldier slammed on the door window. The PMC soldier somehow turning into a zombie form.
