Hi there! Hope there is still someone who has this book in their library. Been a long while, eh? I am sorry. I was so busy with exams, well the good news is my exams are over and I am finally free. They results come out in July and my COLLEGE starts in May. Woho! Also my high school farewell party is the day after tomorrow, ie; 8th of April! I am very excited for that. I am giving the final speech, the goodbye speech on behalf of the entire batch. 😋
But that's all boring. What I really wanted to share in this update is this--- yesterday I went to a bookstore with my Dad and I wanted to buy ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES and some other books by Sarah Dessen. Now the thing is I don't read that kinda books. I don't read teen fiction or romance or whatever. I like sci-fi, crime fiction, fantasy, action, classics and adventure. And my dad knows that. So he was all confused as to why I was suddenly changing my genre. To be honest, I wanted to read those books because everyone else is reading them. I wanted to be a part of that "cool" bibliophile crowd. But you know what, I realised that I didn't have to. I always have read what I loved and nothing in the world can change that. I love crime fic novels. I love old classics. I love sci fi and action. But no, I don't like teen fiction or romance or whatever. And that's what I am. Reading is not a hobby mine. It's a life style and if I let petty things like popularity come in the way then it won't be right. You know what I mean. So I stopped and bought these books instead
1. Poirot's early cases by Agatha Christie
2. A study in scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle
3. The sign of the four by Arthur Conan Doyle
And I have attached a picture I took earlier today while readying A STUDY IN SCARLET. I am proud of this picture. It's certainly one of my best shots. The bookmark is also a gift from my Dad and my brother. The sunglasses are an advanced birthday gift which my Dad gifted me yesterday (Mom still doesn't know about then 🤐) and the pen, well it's also a gift from... Guess who? Oh yes, Dad again. 😄 I am seriously in love with that pen 💛
