Foreword

Look, I never wanted my life to be like this.

Who would pick a catastrophic, perilous life over a peaceful, normal life? Definitely not me. I'd rather be at home playing video games than fighting creatures with sharp teeth bigger than my future.

I'd prefer to do calculus homework than have all of this to handle. Take note that I said homework. In calculus. Possibly the worst subject on earth. No, scratch that. Definitely, the worst subject on earth.

But I guess it was my destiny. My destiny that almost killed me countless times.

You see, my kind are different from humans. We view everything in a different, darker light. Everything that you think is beautiful, just ends up being ugly, or having some sort of sinister side to it.

Sure, we have more insight into the world than most humans get to see in their lifetime. There are so much dimensions to earth than meets the eye. It's quite amazing. But also quite horrific at the same time.

As they say, knowledge is power. But then an excess of knowledge, is too much power. And too much power, is dangerous. And I mean extremely dangerous. It can transform the nicest, and most good-hearted of people, into cold, heartless humans.

I suggest you believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you. Just pretend you're normal. Pretend there is nothing more to you than meets the eye.

I also recommend if you're reading this, to just shut this book closed and chuck it in the bin, or preferably, burn it. This book contains information that could kill you or leave you shook and slightly mental for the rest of your life.

You're still here? Huh, you've got guts. Well, I guess you should read the rest since you've started. But read at your own risk. If a magnus iaculus shows up at your doorstep the next day, snarling menacingly at you, deadly venom dripping from its razor sharp fangs, don't come crying to me.

You have been warned.
