After dinner I head back upstairs, too tired to think of what to do. I close my bedroom door and lay down on my bed, not caring that I'm still dressed in my black and white polka dot pantsuit. I pull the light green sheet over me and drift off to sleep.

In the morning

I wake up, my room's purple accent wall lit up by golden sunlight. I stretch, refreshed from my good night's sleep. I love being on summer break, never having to wake up early. I roll over and see a toasted avocado and tomato sandwich on a plate on my dresser. I notice a yellow sticky note stuck to the side of the plate and I pick it up to read it. 'Ash, mom and I have gone to do some shopping at AmazingShop and won't be back until 11:30. Love you and see you then!' I smile while reading the note, happy they left it for me. I look at my clock and it reads 9:45 in blinking yellow numbers. I throw the sheet off of me and get up, heading straight for my closet. I pick out a light green tank top and black Jean shorts, changing quickly. Once finished, I go back to the sandwich and take a bite. Mmm, mum always knows just the right amount of salt and pepper to put on these sandwiches! I'm happy, excited even to start the new day. I pick up my phone off of the dresser and text Heather asking if they want to meet up today. They text back almost immediately, saying they're free all day and proposing we meet up at Young Navy to do some clothes shopping. I agree, excited. I do need a new pantsuit and some other stuff after all. I head downstairs and grab my little yellow and green tote bag and my set of house keys off the hooks on the wall. I shut and lock the door, starting the twenty minute walk to Young Navy. I take the shaded route, both sides of the sidewalk lined with green maple trees. I keep walking until I reach the middle of the city, where few trees grow. It makes me said to see, only a few lone trees here and there. I keep walking, shoving my thoughts aside. I see Heather and I wave. They see me and run up to me. "Ash!" They say. I smile and hug them, happy to see them again. We walk through the doors and I'm filled with excitement. Right on the first floor after the doors is where the women's section is. I look around and see a rainbow of different coloured pantsuits. If I was in a cartoon my eyes would turn to stars right now. I practically run over there, looking at each and every one. I brought five twenty dollar bills with me so I have enough to get a few things. I fall in love with a forest green pantsuit. The necklace is decorated with a pattern of white and black running wolves. I pick it out, holding the hanger. "Good choice." Heather says, taking my hand and leading me upstairs to the unisex section. There they find a beautiful oversize shirt with a black wolf howling at a crescent moon with a ribbon of the Northern Lights streaking across the sky. They hand it to me and I stand there, still in awe. "I'm soooo getting this." I say, excited. I pick out a shirt depicting their favourite animal, a bunny. I head back down to the women's section and pick out a nice bathing suit, a black one piece with a rainbow streak across the chest. Once we've both paid for out clothes I shove mine in my tote bag and we head over to a sushi place for lunch.
