School is boring. Everyone knows that. Especially when you have lived in the same town, with the same people, living the same life. We have no excitement here in Foster City, never have, never will. I like to think of perfect exciting scenarios that have a 0% chance of happening, kind of like Kayne West becoming president.

"Tanner? Hello! Tanner?" My brain finally focused in to the real world. I looked over and saw everyone at my lunch table looking at me very seriously.

"What?" I said with a mouth full of chewed apple.

"God you have been acting so weird today," my girlfriend, Lexia said very annoyed. "Anyways, have you seen the new girl yet? She came in late. On her first day. I mean come on, who does that?"

A girl next to her, Ashley, who I may say is not the brightest girl in school. "I mean did you see her clothes, she looked so hipster and...emo. Gag!"

Lexia only complains about a girl because 1, she is jealous. Or 2, she wants to show that she the Queen B. Her family is the richest in town and she's the daughter of our mayor.

I don't exactly know who she is or what she looks like...but I do know she is my new neighbor. They started to move in late last night and I had basically just stayed up all night watching them move in from out of my window. I know, I know...so exciting right? Well when someone new moves into our small town, it's pretty big news. No one has lived in the neighboring house for...forever. It was just remodeled and is the 2nd biggest house in town.

My best friend Nick's voice filled my ears. "Well, I think she is pretty hot." He said smirking as Ashley punched him in the arm. "What do you think about her Tanner?" At this, Lexia's eyes basically stared into my soul.

"Ughhh, I haven't seen her yet actually..." They looked at me confused.

"Dude, isn't she your neighbor?" Nick asked.

"Yeah but..." I suddenly got cut off by Ashley.

"Oh! There she is!"

I turned my head and saw a very toned, tan girl. She looks about 5'6 and she was definitely gorgeous. She didn't exactly look emo but she did have a hipster look. She was wearing a jersey crop top and ripped up jeans with a red flannel tied around her waist. Her hair was bleach blond and down to about her mid stomach.

She looked around for somewhere to sit then started for an empty table in the back. As she walked, boys whistled and turned heads as she passed by. I continued to watch her as she sat down and put headphones in, until Lexia elbowed me.

"What the hell Tanner. Quit staring," She hissed. Leaning into the middle of everyone, she whispered, "Her name is Baxlyn, like who in their right mind names their kid that?" Nick wanted to say something but Ashley cuts in.

"I heard she got expelled from her last school because she smashed some girls face into a brick wall and was caught with drugs. Her parents had to bail her out of jail and pay for the news to not be released," She whispered in.

"Wow, what a weirdo," Lexia said disgustedly. Then we went silent for a few minutes.

"I don't believe it." I said

Lexia looked at me "Excuse me? Tanner, just look at her. She looks like that type of girl. Aren't most emos like odd and violent?"

"...No and she isn't emo."

The bell rang and we started to pack up our trash. "Well, I don't like her whether it's true or not."

As we headed to the back to throw our trash away, I hear Lexia and Ashley whispering and giggling. I turned to look at Lexia opening her Kool-Aid and handing the cap to Ashley. Oh. No. She started to walk for where the new girl was sitting.

"Lexia stop," I tried to say but I was too late. Lexia had acted like she had tripped over a seat at the neighboring table and spilled half the bottle of Red Kool-Aid all over Baxlyns back.

Baxlyn jumped up. "Oh. My. God, I am so sorry!" Lexia screeched

Baxlyn just glared for a second. "Clumsy much?"

"Oca-scuse me? I can not believe you just talked to me like that," Lexia said. No one ever gives Lexia tone or and sas. Tip: Never mess with Queen B. unless you wanna die.

"Oca-believe it, bitch." Baxlyn then grabbed her trash and walked away, leaving Lexia and Ashley shocked.

I only had the last 4 hours with Baxlyn in school. She was really quiet in class and when she wasn't she is always stating her opinion very strongly or proving someone wrong. After the whole lunch mess, I noticed she had thrown on her flannel on and but her hair up in a bun to hide the red stains. Her eyes were a little red and puffy.

I felt so bad. She looked tough but maybe she does have a soft side. Lexia is such a jealousy freak sometimes. The last new girl we had, which was in 2nd grade, Lexia and Ashley cut her ponytail off. She ended up moving.

When the last bell rang at the end of the day Braxlyn jumped out of her seat and rushed to her locker like there was a fire. Man, she must really hate this school. I know she gets a lot of attention but I noticed some people whispering about her and there are so many rumors going around. Like I heard from a guy named Jackson that she shoved a firecracker in he ex-boyfriends mouth and lit it after finding out he cheated on her. The things people can make up...unbelievable.

I had gotten home and of course my parents weren't home. They were always at the office. I sat my stuff on the couch and went into the kitchen to raid the cabinets. Our maid, Neena, was standing by the sink doing the dishes. "Welcome home Tanner. Shall I make you something to eat?"

"No thank you Neena, I am just gonna have some chips," I pulled the Takis out and sat them on the counter.

"Have a wonderful day a school?" Neena asked as she dried off her hands.

"Eh, school is school. We have a new girl."

"Really? I didn't think the neighbors had a kid. What's she like?"

To be honest I didn't know too much. "Ugh she is quiet, very smart, sort of distant from everyone. Like she doesn't wanna be here at all."

There was a pause. "Well Tanner. A move can be hard. I moved around a lot as a kid. It wasn't very fun. But, you guys do only have 2 weeks of school left. I am sure she will make it."

"Well just have to see."I grabbed my chips and walked outside to my front yard.

I saw a white Jeep Wrangler pull into the neighbors and saw Baxlyn jump out. Two people, probably her parents, walk towards her and she just lunged for them. They had a concerned look on their face. Baxlyn had basically burst into tears.

The sight of this made me feel even worse. Once her parents had left her, she just laid in the grass and I decided to walk over. I studied her house on my way over. It was HUGE. Looked like something off of MTV Cribs. Brick, with 2 massive pillars by the front door. Their garage had 3 doors. The massive trees in the background just basically topped off the gorgeousness. Our neighborhood sat on like a mountain side and behind that side was miles of forest trees then there was the big lagoon after that.

She had her headphones in and she didn't notice me with her eyes closed. Up close I could see she has a lip piercing and her nose pierced too. I didn't remember seeing her have them in at school. Oh that's because the school probably make her take them out. Sort of a rule we have.

As I was just going to head back she opened her eyes and jumped up. "Oh crap! You scared me!"

"I am sorry," I said

"It's fine. Um...can I- can I...ugh help you?" She stuttered

"Ugh no. I just wanted to say were neighbors." Obviously. "I am Tanner."

"I'm Baxlyn. Oh hey!" she glared at me "You were with that one chick...who spilled the Kool-Aid on me!"

"Yeah...I wanted to apologize for her. It wasn't my idea or anything. Lexia is such a vixen,"

"Right...so why do you have to apologize for her?" She just stared at me.

"I don't know. Just because I felt bad and I know she wouldn't apologize and...because she is my girlfriend."

She wrapped up her headphones around her phone. "Well, thanks for the apology. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go smash a girl's face into brick wall," I awkwardly laughed. "I am kidding..."

"Oh yeah. Right. I knew that." I just stood their looking half terrified and half stupid.

This girl is something else, I had thought.
