12| GIRL MEETS SUMMER

WEEKS HAD PASSED AND MAYA STILL HADN'T SAID ANYTHING to her mom about Peter. It was better this way. If Maya told Kaity about Peter then she'd have to tell her mother about the creatures that crawled the streets at night.

Now summer was starting and Maya had made plans before she even arrived in Beacon hills. But things had changed and so had her plans. Instead of spending the summer with the Mathews, she'd only be spending three weeks. But before she left she wanted to see Peter. Scott, Stiles and Liam were taking her to Eichen House.

The drive was silent. A few days ago Scott and stiles had told Maya the truth about her father. But Maya still wanted to see her father. Stiles parked the car and turned to look at the blonde. All eyes were on the short blonde. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Stiles asked. Maya closed her sketchbook, "Yeah."

"Do you want to do this alone?" Scott asked.

"I do." Maya said. "I could go in with you." Stiles offered. "No I have to do this by myself. Just promise you'll be here." Scott smiled, "We'll always be here." Maya smiled, "I'll be back."

Maya stood in Peter's cell or room she wasn't really sure what to call it. "Maya" "Peter" "Call me dad please." Peter said. "Stop. I know what your doing, your trying to get in my head. But that's not what I am here for, I just came to say goodbye, we won't be seeing each other anymore. I found out who you really are, a monster. I wish it wasn't true but you played me and games over."

Maya eyes got watery as she waited for a response from Peter. "Goodbye, Peter." Maya walked over to the door, she even walked slowly but not one word came out of Peter's mouth. Maya sighed and opened the door. She signed out and walked down the steps of Eichen House. She blinked away the tears. She stuffed her hands into her back pockets and walked out the gate. She weakly smiled at the three boys who sat on the jeep. Liam jumped off, "Are you okay?" Maya nodded, "I'm peachy"

After Eichen House, Stiles drove Maya to the airport. "This is goodbye my boys, take care. If anything supernatural happens call me asap." Maya told Scott as she hugged him. "Call me or I'll see it and when I get here I'll kick both your asses." Maya promised. Maya hugged Stiles next. "Tell my sister to be careful and that I'll be okay." Stiles nodded.

Maya walked over to Liam. "Don't leave." Liam begged as he grabbed a hold of her hands. "It's only three weeks. I'll be back before the full moon, promise."

"That's not what I am worried about." Maya knew exactly what Liam was hinting at. "Don't worry about him. He's in the past and your my now. And FYI I like my now a lot better. " Maya said as she pressed her lips against Liam's. They pulled, "Call me when you land." Liam reminded her. "I will. Remember that I'll be three hours ahead, but if you need anything, anything at all just call."

"I will." Liam promised. They called for Maya's flight. "Don't miss me to much I'll be back before you know it." Maya quickly pressed a chaste kiss against Liam's lips. She pulled away and waved goodbye to her.

"Peaches!" Riley yelled as she ran over to Maya. The best friends hugged. "Tell me all about California." On the ride to the Mathew's apartment Maya told Riley everything minus anything that had to do with the supernatural world. Along the way Maya found herself lying to cover up all the parts in the story that involved supernatural activity.

When they finally reached the Mathews, Riley opened the door and let Maya walk in. "Why are the lights off?" Maya asked. "Surprise!" In the living stood Farkle, Zay, Smackle, Lucas, Josh, and Auggie. Maya smiled and went around the room greeting her old friends. Of course Maya purposely greeted Lucas last. "Maya can we talk?" Lucas asked. "I don't see why not huckleberry. But I need to make a call first." Lucas nodded and watched the blonde head to Riley's room.

Lucas was curious as to who she was calling, and followed a few steps behind her. Maya left the door ajar and FaceTimed her boyfriend. After the first two rings Liam answered.

"Aww did I wake up the baby?" Maya teased. "Yes. I miss you already babe." Liam pouted. "I miss you to. You've should've come with me." Maya pouted. "You know I couldn't do that." Maya nodded, "I know. I was thinking, we been dating for a couple months and...." "Hart spit it out." "I think I love you." Maya said. Liam smiled, "I love you more." There was a knock at the door, "Look I have to go but I'll call you later, love you." "Love you to the moon and back blondie."

Before hanging up Maya blew Liam a kiss. The blonde walked to the door and found Riley kneeled outside the door trying to listen in on her conversation. "Was that your boyfriend?" Riley asked. Maya nodded, "He's a keeper." The blonde giggled, "I know."

They both walked back into the living room, where everyone was talking and enjoying the movie on the tv. Maya walked over to Lucas, "So how about that talk?"

Lucas nodded and they both walked out of the apartment and into the hall. "I've thought about this conversation since I found out you were coming. Truth is its kept me up at night. But hearing you say the words I want to hear to someone else, the words I am dying to say made me rethink what I have to say." Lucas said.

"Tell me what you planned on say." "I love you Maya. Thats what I wanted to tell you." "Lucas I have a boyfriend. I told you that I moved on and I love him." Maya smiled when she said the last three words.

"Does he make you happy?" Lucas asked. "Liam makes me feel like there's a million butterflies in my stomach. He brightens up my whole day even when it seems like it's the darkest of days. He makes me really happy." Maya confessed as a blush crept on her face.

"Does he respect you?" "He treats me like princess." "Does he make you feel safe?" Maya smirked, if only he knew the truth. "Lucas, Liam makes me feel safe, happy, excited and in love."

Lucas smiled weakly, "He sounds like a good guy and he's very lucky." Maya smiled, "Come on Huckleberry let's go inside."

The next three weeks were spent at Topanga's and Central Park. And finally Maya was going home to her pack.

As Maya walked out of the airport to find the pack minus Kira. Maya ran up to the group and they engulfed her in a group hug. "I missed you guys."

"We missed you to." Lydia said.

The rest of the summer was spent wisely. Maya and Liam were glued to the hip, trying to make up for all the lost dates. Many nights were spent under the stars. Others were spent trying to bet Liam at a video game. It was weird being normal. Something kept telling Maya that their new found normality wouldn't last.
