kristy's big day.
"SO WAIT!" Stacey smiled excitedly, holding up her hands, "You and Dawn kissed?!"
Pam nodded.
"And she kissed you?!"
Pam nodded.
"It's so obvious she has feelings for you! Best friends don't just kiss like that and forget about it! Unless it was a dare, which it wasn't." Stacey said.
"But I don't wanna just go up at her and be like 'Hey! You kissed me! You like me!'" Pam scoffed.
"That's not how Mike and Eleven got together!"
"Do not being Stranger Things into my love life, Stacey!" Pam yelled, pointing her finger at her.
The siblings were quiet.
Before Stacey licked her sisters finger.
"Ew!" Pam giggled, wiping her finger on her shirt.
••••
(ignore the necklace, because Pam is a cancer.)
"A BRAND NEW BMW?!" Stacey exclaimed.
"Wow." Pam whispered.
"What color?" Claudia asked.
"Dark. Black, maybe? I don't know. It's a little-"
"Chic? Fabulous? Sleek?" Stacey asked.
"Okay Anne with an E, pack it up." Pam muttered on the ground, as Dawn laughed at her joke.
"Flashy." Kristy corrected Stacey, "But at least now Charlie has to drive me to and from all my jobs and club meetings. It's my moms condition for letting me keep the car."
"Yes!" Carpooling for the win! The environment thanks you." Dawn smiled brightly.
"Oh yes, I can't have my plants dying on me." Pam whispered.
"I can't believe the wedding is tomorrow." Mary Anne brought up, "How is it going over there?"
"Fancy. Fancy flowers, fancy tent, fancy food...They have this sushi bar where they pick what kind of fish you get." Kristy told Mary Anne.
"Omakase. It's seasonal." Claudia laughed.
"All I know is that my mom is fighting with the chef to label everything, because Dawn's mom has some crazy allergy to yellowtail!" Kristy ranted.
"Can't eat it, can't stay away from it." Dawn tisked.
"Last year around this time, my mom was fighting with Connecticut Water and Power to lower our bill! And now Charlie has a BMW, she has a tiara, and Pam is a homosexual!"
Pam furrowed her eyebrows.
"Well, I guess that has nothing to do with it, I'm just still so shocked that you're gay." Kristy smiled, "But it's like I'm living in an alternative dimension!"
"It's her wedding." Mary Anne spoke up, "Let her be a princess for a day. She deserves it."
Kristy nodded.
"Well, personally, I'm grateful for a little luxury before a summer of roughing it at Camp Moosehead." Stacey said.
"Oh my god, I'm so excited!" Mary Anne and Dawn squealed to each other.
"I can't believe I'm not going with you guys." Claudia whined.
"Oh please, you'll be at art camp, at Yale, with Trevor Sandbourne!" Stacey said.
"Yeah, getting to spend a week at a beautiful place with your crush? That sounds awesome." Pam said.
Not like that same thing was going to happen to her.
"Did you get your packing list yet?" Mary Anne asked.
"Yeah, it's just art supplies and stuff. What about you?" Claudia asked.
"The basics. About a zillion of those T-shirts and shorts, two sets of sheets, two sets of towels, toiletry kit with soap, shampoo, feminine products-"
"Feminine products? What, like makeup? Are they telling the boys to bring 'masculine products?'" Kristy asked.
"I think they mean tampons, pads and cramp pills. You know, for your period." Pam informed her.
"Oh, right. Well, I should go. Watson's taking me to pick up my bridesmaids dress!" Kristy smiled.
"What's it like? Give us a hint." Stacey asked.
"Well, it's yellow, and it's long, and it's rustley. And it kinda makes me look like Belle from Beauty and the Beast!"
••••
"PAM! GET UP!" Stacey announced, clapping her hands and coming in her room.
Pam sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"We have two hours! During that time you need to take a shower, put on makeup, get on your dress and go over to the wedding because I have to go to the Kishi's!" Stacey explained.
"Alright. I'm getting up." Pam said in a raspy voice, throwing her feet over her mattress on the ground.
••••
"WHY IS IT TAKING YOU SO LONG?!" Stacey cried to her sister, as Pam stood in front of the mirror in a white robe and her hair wavy and wet, putting on mascara.
"I'm getting ready."
"It's been 45 minutes!" Stacey bickered.
"Sorry, I had to shave my legs." Pam scoffed.
"Well, just hurry up. You need to skate there."
"I'm skating to a wedding?" Pam laughed, pulling her mascara away from her eye.
"Yes! You're gonna look so badass when you come in!" Stacey smiled and cheered.
"Alright, dude."
••••
PAM WALKED OUT OF THE BATHROOM WITH HER DRESS ON, her white comeback boots on, her hair wavy with a braided crown, and her phone in hand.
Stacey scoffed as she walked into the kitchen.
"What?" Pam asked.
"What is your aesthetic?! I mean, you fit the indie skater girl, but you also fit the cottage core lesbian! It's so confusing!"
"Well," Pam said, going into the closet and picking up her skate board, "How about I'm a indie cottage core lesbian?"
"Perfect." Stacey smiled.
"Alright, I'll see you at the wedding?" Pam asked.
Stacey nodded, smiling.
"I'll see you then." Pam winked.
The girl put her phone in her pocket and went outside, putting her skateboard onto the ground and walking onto it smoothly.
The skateboard skidded across the ground as she turned left, heading towards the house (which was only a few blocks away).
Her dress flew up a tiny bit, and her white boot dragged across the sidewalk.
Her blonde wavy hair flew behind her, making her smile.
"I'm free~" Pam sang.
••••
PAM ARRIVED AT THE WEDDING AND picked her skateboard up, securing it on her side.
She walked into the house and saw Sam.
Pam waved to him.
"Did you skate here?" The boy asked.
"Yep. Stacey made me." Pam smiled.
"Well, you still look like a million bucks." Sam joked.
Pam rolled her eyes playfully and walked up to the boy.
"Where should I put this?" The blonde whispered, referring to the skateboard.
Sam looked around to see if anyone was watching.
He then opened a door that was located on the side of the stairs.
"Throw it in there, just..."
Pam threw it in the closet and it made a loud crash, causing Sam to panic and shut the door.
Some heads turned, but the two played it off like they're having a conversation.
"Thanks, you're the best." Pam whispered.
"Don't need to tell me twice." The boy cheekily smirked.
Pam nudged his shoulder as he laughed and walked to her seat.
••••
"MARY ANNE!" Pam waved, seeing the girl come in.
Mary Anne waved to Pam and sat in the row behind her, Richard following.
"She's not here." Richard said.
"She'll come soon." Mary Anne assured her dad.
"I knew it. The turtle was too much."
"What turtle?" The two girls asked.
"I'm gonna get a drink. You two want anything?"
The girls stared at the man strangely.
"Right."
He got up to go and get a drink.
"Oh, I see Mary Anne!"
The two turned around and saw Stacey, Mimi and Claudia.
"Hey!" Mary Anne smiled, as Pam got up to let the three in the aisle.
"You go first." Stacey said go Mimi.
The woman walked and sat down, the two girls following her.
Pam sat on the outside seat and looked around the room.
"She'll turn up." Stacey whispered.
"What if she doesn't? What if she doesn't wanna see me?" Pam asked frantically.
"When she sees you, she'll know what's she's missing." Claudia joined in.
"Yeah. That dress looks so cute on you." Mary Anne added.
Pam eyes went wide.
"Wait. You two..."
"I told them. I'm sorry, I couldn't wait!" Stacey whined.
Pam smiled and nudged her sister shoulder, not really bothered that her friends knew about her crush.
Richard came back and drank the rest of his champagne.
"I don't know where to put this." He told his daughter.
Mary Anne grabbed it out of his hand and set it on the ground.
"Hi everybody." Watson smiled, coming to the front of the room.
The violins began playing, indicating the wedding was starting.
Charlie and Sam walked down the aisle first, Charlie nudging Sam.
Sam looked down at Stacey, and the blonde smiled.
(AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED THIS?! LIKE WOAHHHHH-)
Next was David Micheal and Andrew, carrying the rings.
Kristy started walking in her baby blue dress, smiling at her brothers.
Then Karen, who threw the flowers a silly way, making everyone laugh.
"Sorry, Sorry."
"We're so sorry. Oh my goodness. Hi, hi, how are you? We're so late."
"Excuse me."
Pam turned around and saw Dawn and Sharon.
She turned back around and saw Stacey smirking.
"I knew she would come. Don't stare at me like that."
Finally Elizabeth, who had on a lacy white dress.
Wedding March started playing, and everyone stood up.
The blonde looked ahead like nothing in her past was going to stop her from committing to was she was doing.
Esmè came to the front.
"You may sit!"
Karen shrieked, which caused the audience to gasp.
"Karen?" Kristy asked.
"It's okay." Esmè assured her, "This little girl thinks I'm a witch. So in front of a room full of witnesses, I would like to say she's right."
Karen gasped.
"I'm a spiritual practitioner. Now, historically, the term witch has been used to describe people, primary women, who refuse to conform to society's expectations of who they should be. We go a lot of witches in here~"
The crowd laughed, and Dawn and Sharon snapped their fingers.
"When children tell you something, believe em. Now, let's get this party started."
••••
"I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU HUSBAND AND WIFE."
A shatter was heard.
"I did it! I broke the glass!" David Micheal cheered.
The crowd laughed and Watson and Elizabeth kissed, causing everyone to clap.
"Oh my god, love." Pam whispered to Stacey.
The happy couple walked down the aisle.
••••
"DAWN!" Pam cheered.
"Pam!" Dawn cheered.
The two girls ran up to each other in the after party and hugged each other.
"Oh my god, I love this wedding! It's so beautiful!" Pam ranted.
"I know, right?! My wedding is totally gonna be like this!"
The girls looked over and saw Kristy coming in.
They rushed over to her, along with the rest of the club.
"Kristy! You look so pretty!" Claudia complimented.
"That dress!" Stacey said.
"Turn around!" Mary Anne said, looking at the blue dress.
"You look gorgeous." Dawn said.
"It's really your color!" Pam cheered.
"How do you feel?" Mary Anne asked.
"Fine. I'm fine. Uhm, have you guys seen my mom?"
"I believe she's still taking pictures. But don't worry! You'll see her round." Pam smiled.
"Guys, look at that!" Stacey squealed.
Everyone looked over and saw Sharon and Richard, laughing.
"This he'll propose tonight?" Dawn asked Mary Anne.
"He has had, like, one-third a glass of champagne." Mary Anne said, "Anything could happen."
"And now! Presenting the happy couple, Watson and Elizabeth Brewer!"
The room filled with claps, as the couple came out and started dancing.
"How adorable." Pam scoffed, taking a glass of sparking grape juice off a waiters tray and throwing her head back, drinking it all.
"They're really in love." Claudia whispered.
"Yeah. They are." Kristy whispered sadly.
"I wish Trevor was here." Claudia whined to Stacey.
"I miss Toby! He's probably a great dancer!" Stacey said.
"Stacey, you want to dance?"
The girls looked over and saw Sam.
"Yeah," Stacey smashed her purse into Pam's chest, "of course."
Pam held onto the purse.
"Uhm, what about Toby?" Kristy asked.
"Don't be such a baby!" Stacey scoffed.
Dawn turned to Pam.
"It's bound to happen. Do you want to dance?" Dawn asked.
"I mean, fine. I really don't wanna dance with YOU." Pam groaned playfully, as Dawn laughed and grabbed her hand.
Claudia slipped her purse out of her hand.
The two went onto the dance floor and began dancing.
"So." Pam said, clicking her tongue.
"Yeah?" Dawn asked.
"We're eating cake tonight, right?"
"Heck yeah we are."
••••
"MMM! OH MY GOD. THIS VANILLA CUSTARD, I DON'T EVEN CARE IF ITS NOT VEGAN." Dawn said.
"I just keep checking my levels, because sugar town, here I come!" Stacey giggled.
"I'm gonna get so fat." Pam groaned like she was in heaven.
"I am so, so happy right now." Mary Anne smiled.
Kristy sat down and stuffed some cake into her mouth.
"Is everything okay?" Mary Anne asked.
"Fine! Fine."
"Did you find your mom?" Pam asked.
Kristy stuffed the top of the cupcake in her mouth.
"She's not going anywhere. You'll find her soon." Mary Anne assured her.
"Isn't she?" Kristy asked.
"Woo! A quick carbo load before another round on the dance floor!" Sharon cheered, going to the table and stuffing cake into her mouth.
"Mom, no! Mom, that's Nutella! Hazelnut!" Dawn yelled.
Sharon shrieked and grabbed a napkin, spitting the cake out.
"What's wrong?!" Pam asked.
"She's allergic to nut! Walnuts, hazelnuts, all kinds!" Dawn informed her.
"So she made my mom freak out about fish but forgot to tell her she's allergic to nuts?! That's like the most common allergy." Kristy said.
"There's a EpiPen in the care-"
"I've got her Dawn." Richard said.
"A-Are you sure?" Dawn asked.
"Of course. Don't worry, your mother is in very good hands."
"Oh Richie. I'm just going to stare at you until my left eye swells shut."
The adults left, and Dawn smiled at Pam.
"My shift is up."
Kristy got up and started heading out of the tent.
"Kristy?!" Mary Anne asked, following her.
Everyone else got up and followed.
••••
"KRISTY?" Pam asked, knocking on the bathroom door.
"Are you okay?" Claudia asked.
"Yeah. It's looks like it's my big day too!"
"What?" Dawn muttered.
"I don't-" Stacey whispered.
"She got her period." Mary Anne whispered.
"Ooh~" All the girls said.
Mary Anne opened her purse and pulled out a yellow wrapped pad.
She opened the door and handed it to her.
"Open it up and unfold it. Take the little '8 hour' thing off of it and secure the wraps on the side. It's gonna feel weird, but I don't think you want red underwear." Pam explained.
A couple seconds passed by, and Kristy opened the door.
"Oh! You're all here!" Kristy exclaimed.
"Why wouldn't we be?" Dawn asked, "We're your friends, and this is a big moment."
"We've all been through it." Stacey said.
"And now, you can bring your own feminine products to camp!" Claudia smiled.
"How do you feel?" Mary Anne asked.
"Like I want more cake." Kristy smiled.
"You and me both, sister." Pam agreed.
A car horn honked.
Kristy began rushing outside.
"Who's leaving?" Pam asked.
"I don't know." Dawn shrugged.
The girls rushed behind Kristy and past Sam.
"Where are you guys going?" The boy asked.
"To talk about human anatomy!" Pam shot at him sarcastically, as Dawn laughed and grabbed her hand.
The girls went outside and saw Kristy talking with Elizabeth.
"Oh! I got my period!" Kristy finally said.
"What?! When?" Elizabeth exclaimed.
"Just now. Don't worry, it didn't get on the dress." Kristy said quickly.
"Baby, don't worry about the dress! Are you okay? Do you know what to do?" Elizabeth asked.
"We took care of her." Mary Anne said.
"Of course." Elizabeth smiled, "You always do."
"Oh, you should go. You don't want to miss your flight." Kristy said.
"We're gonna leaves in the morning, we're staying at a hotel. I'm exhausted!" Elizabeth groaned.
"I love you so much, mom." Kristy said.
"I love you too, Kris."
Elizabeth kissed daughters cheek and hugged her tight.
"I'm gonna miss you." Elizabeth said.
"Me too!" Kristy agreed.
The two broke apart and Elizabeth started walking to the car.
The crowd behind then cheered and the girls waved.
"She'll be back before you know it. In the meantime, we'll all be together. At Camp Moosehead." Claudia said.
"We?" Kristy asked.
"Art camp will be there next year, and how many summers am I gonna have with my best friends?" Claudia asked.
"You cheeky kid." Pam smiled, hugging Claudia's side.
The girls waved to Watson and Elizabeth.
"What now?" Kristy asked.
Pam clicked her tongue.
"Follow me, ladies."
••••
MUSIC FILLED THE TENT, as the girls danced together.
They shuffled their feet, smiling, giggled, laughed.
Memories flooded their minds, and more were soon to come.
••••
PAM OPENED THE CLOSET IN THE QUIET HOUSE AND got her skateboard out.
A tap on her back was placed, and Pam stood up straight.
Dawn was standing there.
"Oh! Hey Dawn! I didn't know you were still here."
"My mom and Richard are getting one more glass of champagne. I've got time." Dawn giggled.
Pam smiled and began walking outside, Dawn following her.
"Well, this was a fun night." Pam said, stopping at the end of the driveway, the plants surrounding the two.
"It wasn't an unpleasant way to spend the day." Dawn admitted.
Pam nodded.
The blonde looked around.
"This is such a beautiful place."
Dawn looked around also.
"It really is."
The girls went back to staring at each other.
Dawn leaned forward slightly.
Pam looked calm on the outside, but on the inside all of the alarms were going off.
Dawn's lips met Pam's, for a little kiss.
The raven haired girl pulled away.
Pam looked down at Dawn, who had lip cheeks.
"Whoops. I fell." Dawn joked.
"Sure~" Pam said, cheekily, as Dawn giggled.
Pam cupped on side of Dawn's face and placed a firm kiss on her lips.
Pam pulled away and smiled.
"See ya later, alligator."
Pam winked and began walking down the sidewalk, setting her skateboard down and beginning to skate.
The only thing running through the blondes mind was that both the girls had feelings for each other.
She just didn't know how to get together with her.
Pam leaned slightly to the right, then slightly to the left, making the skateboard lean.
She pulled out her phone and texted Stacey.
