hello, camp mooshead! part two.
"POSION IVY?!" Pam exclaimed in Stacey's medical room.
"Mhm-Mhm! Worst case I've seen in 15 years. Did you wrestle in it or something?" The nurse asked.
"The shows tonight. I can't go in like this! I can't even see out of my left eye!" Stacey exclaimed.
"Hey, you're not going to the show, okay? Okay. Got that cleared up." Pam assured her sister.
"I'll get more compresses." The nurse said.
Mary Anne came into the room, and stared at Stacey with horror.
"That bad, huh?" Stacey scoffed.
"Wha are we gonna do about the show?! You look like you have leprosy! Mignonette can't have leprosy. I'd have to rewrite the whole show to make her a leper-"
"Mary Anne, honey, I know you're worried about your show, but that's not the biggest issue right now. Right now, the biggest issue is that my sister looks like FREDDY KRUGER!" Pam yelled with gritted teeth.
"CLAUDIA IS A POLITICAL PRISONER!" Dawn yelled, coming into the room with her iPad and Claudia on FaceTime, "Pam and I are her eyes and ears on the outside. The only way to free her is to subvert the entire system and start a revolution!"
"I'm in!" Pam exclaimed.
"Yes. And if it's a long imprisonment, I might need three more bags of Cool Ranch Doritos." Claudia said from the iPad.
"Oh, God, I'm so itchy!" Stacey whined.
Pam slapped her sisters hand away from her arm.
"No itching!"
"Kristy, do something!" Claudia encouraged.
"There's only one thing to do-"
"Okay, if you're gonna do some motivation crap I may as well fling myself out that window." Pam interrupted.
"Fine! Pam, have it your way!" Kristy groaned, "But this calls for an emergency babysitters meeting."
Kristy pulled out her visor and put it on her head.
"Another one, in here. Second on the bed." The nurse said, putting Laine in with Stacey.
"Laine?!" Pam exclaimed.
"Oh. Hey, Pam." Laine cringed, itching her neck.
"Jesus Christ, is Malina Weissman here too?!" Pam groaned, slapping a hand on her forehead.
The blonde then looked around.
"But seriously, is she here? My life goal is to kiss her cheek and give her a hug."
"The curse. The curse is real!" Mary Anne exclaimed.
"Girls, patients need quiet, and visiting hours are over." The nurse said.
"No, no, no. We cannot leave Stacey alone with her. She is the one that made my sisters life horrible." Pam whispered calmly, but loud enough for the nurse to hear.
"Absolutely not! She can't be trusted. And I hope you've confiscated all electric devices."
The nurse pressed the end call button on the iPad.
"Guys, just go. Non of this is making me feel better anyways." Stacey said.
"Well, I hope you get a rash of good luck." Pam joked.
Stacey looked up at her sister.
"Too soon? Yeah, that's what I thought." Pam whispered.
"We'll come visit you later-"
Kristy touched Stacey's shoulder, but removed it automatically.
'Oh my god!' Kristy mouthed, walking out of the room with her hand up.
"Bye hon." Pam waved.
The girls headed out of the room.

"THIS UNFAIR SYSTEMS GOT TO GO! HEY-HEY! HO-HO!" The campers chanted with Dawn, laying on the ground.
Pam sat on the steps of the cabin hand had a megaphone in one hand and a juice box in the other.
"This unfair systems got to go!"
"Attention campers! This is a lie-in! We will continue our peaceful protest until old Meanie changes the unfair pay system or let's Claudia continue her free art classes for all or let's campers express their colors! Everybody, join hands." Dawn announced, "We are stronger together."
Meanie came up to the group, and Pam turned on the megaphone.
"Please step around the children! You cannot hurt them." Pam said, pushing her pink sunglasses up on her nose more.
"Well, well, well. I see you've come to negotiate." Dawn said cheekily, pulling the red plastic megaphone away from her mouth.
"Actually, I'm on my way to my car. But this whole protest thingy is against protocol, and I am over this mishigas. You are all remanded back to your cabins until further notice. Until I'm back from the dentist. Move." Meanie said, stepping through the kids.
"Hey hey hey, are you dying of dementia? I said step around the kids, Jesus!" Pam scoffed.
"Does remanded mean we'll be missing afternoon activities?" A camper asked.
"We won't be missing activities if there are no activities." Dawn said with a devilish smile.
"Bet! I'll bring the snacks!" Pam giggled.
Dawn leaned up and grabbed Pam's hand, as the blonde dropped the mega phone.
"Thank you, sister in arms." Dawn thanked the camper, grabbing Pam's hand and dragging her away.
••••
DAWN AND PAM SNUCK INTO Meanie's office.
Dawn opened the grey door and Pam slipped inside, the raven haired girl following her.
Dawn ran up to the PA system and turned it on.
"Attention, fellow humans. This is Dawn Schafer and Pamela McGill, your organizers but not your superiors. Today we're asking every camper to make a sacrifice. Not for yourself, not for us...For justice. I'm officially calling for a camp-wife general strike. Lay down your eggs. Disarm your bows. Fold your hand of Crazy Eights. We must abstain from activities until we are equal!"
Dawn placed down the microphone.
"Dawn?"
Dawn looked over at Pam, who was holding up a frog plush.
"Can I keep them?"
Dawn sighed through her nose and smiled.
"Yes. Only if you name them Blake. Now let's go."
••••
"LETS GO, PAM." Dawn whispered.
"She's getting changed. Chill." Claudia laughed from outside their cabin.
Pam came out in a pair of jeans, a jewel covered belt and rainbow shirt.
The girls were quiet for a couple seconds.
"Just be honest, how's the fit?" Pam asked.
"I'm not gonna lie, that fit goes crazy hard." Dawn said.
The two girls high fived and Pam wrapped one arm around Claudia and one around Dawn, beginning to walk out.
••••
"WHY ARE WE BUILDING A FORT?" Claudia asked Dawn.
"It's not a fort, it's a barricade. Activism is about using whatever platform you have to make change," Dawn places her chair on the barricade and sighed, "And sometimes that means yelling loudly on a pile of old furniture."
"I don't care what you do, just keep working." Pam said from a yellow lawn chair, her feet slung over the side of it and a lemonade in one hand and a magazine in the other with her famous pink sunglasses on.
"Why aren't you helping again?" Claudia asked.
"She's covering the snacks." Dawn said.
"What are you guys doing?" A CIT asked.
"Hey, aren't you that girl that's supposed to be in her cabin?" The other CIT asked.
"Uh..." Claudia trailed off.
"We're engaging in civil disobedience." Dawn answered.
"Period, Queen, you tell em." Pam said emotionless, sucking on her lemonade again.
"Meanie's not even here. Just don't hurt yourselves." The CIT brushed off.
"Where do you think Meanie went?" David Michael asked.
"She said the dentist, but she probably went to go get reinforcements. So anyone who isn't down for a confrontation should go!" Dawn shouted, "Are you with me?"
Everyone nodded.
"I'll stay." David Micheal said.
"Oh, I'm proud of you." Dawn said, hugging the boy.
"This is gonna be like the Kennedys." Pam scoffed, "We think everything is okay and then boom! Nothing bad every happened to the Kennedys." Pam mumbled.
••••
KIDS CROWDED AROUND the barricade, shout and protesting with signs.
"This is a interesting play, my beau." Pam commented to Dawn.
"Why thank you, my love." Dawn said.
The two held up their lemonades and clinked them together.
The auditorium doors opened to reveal Mary Anne and the rest of the kids in the play.
Dawn and Pam turned around.
"What is this?! And why are you building it so close to the theater?!" Mary Anne exclaimed at the two.
"We just want people who are participating in camp activities to think about what they're doing and reflect on the injustices all around us!" Dawn defended.
"Dawn, Pam, this show is really important to me, and you're messing with it." Mary Anne said.
"Well, Mary Anne, this is important to us. It's showing people that we aren't just some defenseless children who can't do anything about our society!" Pam yelled over the commotion.
"You two are my friends. So maybe it should be just about my show instead of your riot!"
The three were silent for a couple seconds.
Until Dawn grabbed Mary Anne's shoulder and brought her over to a different place.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Claudia asked.
"Probably a confidence boost." Pam shrugged.
"By the way, I love this fit." Claudia smiled.
"Oh my gosh, thank you! I wasn't so sure about the belt, but now I think it pulls it together." Pam smiled, holding her belt as Claudia giggled.
Stacey and Laine went up to the two.
"Stacey! You still look like death! Why are you here?" Pam asked.
"Mary Anne needs butts in seats for her show, so we're going to it." Laine smiled.
Pam rolled her eyes at the ginger.
"Pam, be cool. Laine's okay now." Stacey smiled.
"If you say so." Pam said, putting her hands up.
••••
"SHE'S BACK! MEANIE'S JEEP IS HEADING TOWARDS US!" Dawn announced from the top of the barricade with Pam right next to her, "Time to take a stand."
Dawn raised her fist with pride.
"LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!"
The kids let out cheers and cries, shaking their posters with no remorse.
"Oh man, if I knew camp was like this I would've joined a long time ago!" Pam smiled proudly, stuffing rocks into her pockets.
"What are those for?" Dawn asked.
"Just in case." Pam smirked.
Dawn laughed and pulled Pam to her side, kissing her cheek.
The people in the auditorium rushed out of it to see what was happening.
The black Jeep pulled up in front of the barricade.
The Jeep came to an abrupt stop, and a angry looking Meanie stepped out of it.
"We're gonna get in so much trouble." Pam giggled.
A horn blasted.
"ENOUGH! Counselors, collect your campers now!" Meanie yelled.
No one moved a muscle.
"Now or you'll be remanded to your cabins, and camp will be shut down for the rest of the season!"
No one still moved a muscle, and Pam laughed.
"Three weeks remanded to your cabins! Think about it!"
Some kids scoffed and started murmuring, walking away.
"Schafer, Kishi, oldest McGill, my office. Now."
Pam reached into her pocket and grabbed a rock.
"I'm gonna do it." The blonde whispered.
"Pam, no. That crazy-"
"I'm gonna do it."
"No. Pam, sto-"
Pam threw a rock at Meanie's Jeep, making a little dent in the front of it.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Meanie asked.
"It's just...pure mindless vandalism!" Pam laughed.
"Are you mentally deficient?!"
"If I was mentally deficient, I would've missed."
The three girls hopped off of the chairs and went over to Meanie.
"Are you really gonna call our parents?" Claudia asked.
"No, I'm gonna send you both. All three of you!"
••••
"WE WEREN'T TRYING TO RUIN ANYTHING." Claudia told Meanie.
"Or make any trouble." Pam added.
"We just wanted things to be fair, and they are not fair." Claudia finished.
"This can't be the first time you're realizing that." Meanie said.
"Please, just hear us out." Dawn begged, "You run Camp Moosehead for 26 years, and I know you care about the campers. Everyone here just wants to feel like they belong, whether they have money or not, or if they don't like the same opposite gender or not."
"I would love to make everything free. I can't. We would go out of business. Even though you three are driving me crazy, and I had to drive off campus today to get a root canal, finally, for the tooth that's been bothering me for weeks, not that you guys noticed...I am not oblivious to the fact that you're learning about yourselves and the way you want to be in the world, and that's what this time away from you're parents is supposed to be about-"
"But it's not." Pam interrupted, "My parents are just like you. They don't like rainbow. When I told them I preferred girls over boy by a lot, they said they didn't accept me. And I cried. I cried to hard to the point where I couldn't breathe. And it hurt me, more than you think. Just imagine telling your parents this one huge secret and they say they don't accept you. That hurts. This place is supposed to make me feel welcomed, but no. This isn't an escape from my parents. This isn't even close to it."
Meanie started at the blonde.
"Well, I'm-I'm sorry you're parents don't accept you. And I'm sorry I don't accept you either. And I'm sorry that this place isn't what you thought it would be."
"So we can stay?" Claudia asked.
"No. There are liability issues, and I have to set an example." Meanie scoffed.
"Claudia. We're sorry that we dragged you into this mess." Dawn apologized.
"As much as I love camp, being you twos comrade has been the best part. So if this is how it ends," Claudia looped her arms with Pam's and Dawn's, "Then so be it."
The door slammed open.
"DROP THE PHONE!"
"Oh, not this one." Meanie whined.
The three girls turned and saw Kristy, Mary Anne, Stacey and Laine.
"You can't send Claudia, Pam and Dawn home!" Kristy defended.
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" Meanie asked.
"Because I spent the whole afternoon hunting down a missing camper." Kristy said.
"Oh, so you're saying I can't do my job?" Meanie asked.
"With all due respect, kind of! You need more help. My stepsister Karen, she wandered off today, and none of your staff noticed!"
"Is Karen okay?" Meanie asked.
"Luckily, she's fine, but she was trying to catch a bus at an out of service bus stop, and the reason why I know this is because I was the one that had to go find her!" Kristy yelled.
Meanie fluttered her eyes.
"Look, I know you want camp to be great. But that's why you need more people, more people like us. Well, maybe not Pam so much due to her amazing rock throwing skills, but most of Pam is awesome! We pay attention and understand what a kid needs! Don't you agree?" Kristy asked.
Meanie looked at the window and sighed, gripping her hands.
••••
"COUNSELORS IN TRAINING, BABY!" Kristy cheered, "This is the best summer ever! Did I mention I love camp?"
"Me too! Now that I've shaken the poison ivy and we're back to our daily activities, I'm sleeping like a baby, post sleep training!" Stacey laughed.
Pam smiled and adjusted her rainbow hoodie.
"Hey," A boy stopped in his tracks, pointing at Pam's shirt, causing her and the rest of the club to stop as well, "That looks like the shirt I made in art."
"Oh, well, I made this." Pam laughed nervously.
She then looked up at the boy.
"Wait..." The blonde muttered, looking at his facial features.
A silence broke between the two.
"Oh my gosh, Pam, it's Jack!" Stacey laughed.
The two broken up blondes stared at each other.
"Oh my god." Pam smiled, "How are you?!"
"I-I'm great! How about you?" Jack asked.
"I'm...so awesome!" Pam laughed.
"This has been a great meet up, but we have to get going." Dawn smiled, grabbing Pam's shoulders.
"Oh! Of course! Uhm, Pam, can you unblock me? I want to..."
"Fix our friendship?" Pam asked.
Jack nodded.
"Of course." Pam smiled.
Jack waved to her and she waved back, as the two began walking separate ways.
"Oh my god, Pam! Why did you break up with him?!" Claudia whisper-shouted.
"I didn't break up with him! He broke up with me!" Pam yelled.
"Well, you're still gay, right?" Dawn asked.
"Of course." Pam nodded assuringly.
••••
THE SIX GIRLS WALKED UP TO THE ROBIN CABIN.
"Hey guys. What are you doing here?" Mallory asked.
"We have a surprise for you. See, I was so impressed by how you guys helped me find Karen, that we decided..." Kristy said.
Pam reached into her sweatpants pocket and pulled out two badges with happy flowers on them that said 'JUNIOR CIT.'
"Wow! I can't believe Meanie's letting 11-year-olds do this!" Jessi smiled.
"Well, it's sort of unofficial." Kristy cringed.
"But we were thinking, back in Stoneybrook, maybe you could help us with babysitting sometimes?" Dawn asked, "See, we have this club-"
"Oh my god, the babysitters club?! You guys are like, world famous!" Jessi exclaimed.
"We thought you two could be junior members if you wanted." Mary Anne offered.
"Oh my god! I never thought this day would come!" Mallory cheered.
"So, you're in?" Kristy asked.
"We're in." Jessi said.
"Then there's only one thing left to do. Come on."
••••
THE EIGHT GIRLS HUDDLED IN FRONT of the Camp Moosehead sign.
They threw their arms around each other, Pam laughing in between Stacey and Dawn.
"One, two, three! Babysitters club!" They shouted, laughing.
They then fell to the left, laughing and cheering.
••••
"OF COURSE YOU HAVE, DAWN!" Pam giggled under Dawn's sheets, watching the end credits of a movie.
Dawn laughed and smiled at Pam.
"This has been a really fun trip." Pam smiled.
"It has." Dawn agreed.
Pam popped a piece of popcorn into her mouth.
"Are you sure you're not gonna go back to Jack? I mean, he did break up with you." Dawn asked.
"Beau, I promise you, I'm not going back to him." Pam smiled.
Dawn smiled and pecked Pam's lips.
"I'm gonna go to bed, okay?" Pam said.
Dawn nodded, shutting the laptop.
Pam picked it up and went out of the sheets, climbing up to her top bunk.
She put it on the side of her bed and looked at her rainbow flag on the wall, which now had a little picture of the BSC next to it.
"Dawn?" Pam asked.
"Yeah?"
"Are you ever gonna answer my question?"
"What?"
"DO YOU LISTEN TO GIRL IN RED?"
A/N:
see you next year, or not.
