The Love I always searched for , probably never existed in my family.

My vacations in Georgia were amazing till Christmas eve. The news of Leo being here , shook my inner self completely. I was drowned in grief for years after the incident and after 12 years on the same day of his disappearance , I got to knew this.

I went silent for the rest of holidays. I sensed the suspicion growing in Kai's head but he never asked me about the phone call or what happened to me. We boarded the flight in silence and Kade drove us all the way from Washington DC to Eden's academy of excellence.

Once in the campus, I headed straight to my apartment. It was almost the time for dinner. After half an hour Kai knocked on my dinner.

We had our meal in silence and on our way back , once Sebastian was out of hearing Rane he whispered to me.

"Are you alright?" His voice was soft and gentle , my mind relaxed a bit and I let out a sigh before nodding a bit.

I was about to part ways when he held my arm , I turned to face him with a questionable expression.

"Let's go" He said and started walking.

I slowly followed him behind until we reached rooftop.

He switched on the lights and asked me to wait till he comes back. Light breeze was blowing , i slowly closed my eyes , feeling the freshness in air.

The only image I can see was Leo. The scenarios of us playing together.

It was all fine till the day of Christmas. 12 years.

I just wish that this year I'll celebrate Christmas with him.

I heard foot steps after some time. He is back.

Kai sat next to me without disturbing me. I kept my eyes closed and without realising I dozed off on his shoulder.

It was soothing. His presence makes me calm. The friend I always wanted , And now that I have one. I will never lose a friend again.

After sometime I woke up with a gentle tap on my face. I slowly opened my eyes. And turned around.

My eyes were slightly opened till I saw pair of greens. As green as the trees far away , the colour of nature , soothing, calming.

My eyes opened wide when i realised that it's not Kai.

I stared for a moment.

" Happy new year " Lucas said to me, he tilted his face a bit and smiled staring at my eyes.

I recovered from my shock earlier than expected.

"Happy new year to you too" I said in low voice almost inaudible.

We sat their staring at each other , no one broke neither the silence nor the eye contact.

" Kai came to check on you. He was tired. Probably sleeping by now."

"Ohh"

We just sat their without a word , nothing to talk about.

We asked each other about holidays, Christmas, new year and highlights.

Almost around 11 his phone buzzed with a notification. He checked to see a text from his brother.

" I'll take my leave now. " He said and stood up before stopping and turning back.
" Can you meet me here tomorrow after dinner ?"

"Yeah "

"And yes. Don't fall asleep here. It's still cold " With a smile he left.

My hands involuntarily went up to my cheeks.
Ohh it's burning I thought to myself.

I never felt this way for someone. The whole conversation was fine , I survived it but just a smile made my heart run a marathon.

(Lucas's POV )

Seeing her , was indescribable. These holidays were hard without her.

After a break this long , the first thing I did after reaching was search for her. When I saw Kai coming down from the staircase, I knew where to find her.

She was sitting with her eyes closed , moonlight shined bright on her face making it glow. My mind relaxed immediately. you are my comfort place.

I sat beside her , and was about to initiate a conversation when she dozed off on my shoulder.

She smelled like lavender.

I never realized what happened to me after meeting her.

Getting bumped on her on the first day , asking her for help to being this good friends , or more than that.

These days passed by really slowly, as if they were mocking me that I am away from her. This made me realise, for me she is more than friends. She is special, she is incredible, even if I use all the adjectives I won't be able to describe what she means for me.

It was still windy and cold. If she slept here , she'll catch cold. I gently tapped her face to wake her up.

She slowly sat straight eyes still close.
She peeked with her left eye. Her eyes were barely open.

It took her some time to realise that it was me not Kai. Once she did , we talked for a while and I took my leave.

I stepped down one stair at a time , with realisation slowly hitting me that i asked her to meet me tomorrow.
