You embrace Rick tightly as he stands by the gate. Your mind is flurrying with possibilities of what could happen once he walks outside the walls.

"Do you have to go?" You plead with him, hoping that he'll find a way to stay behind so you can be with him.

Rick nods, pulling out of the embrace. "Our rations are getting dangerously low. Daryl and I have a few spots we're gonna check to bring stuff back." He explains. "And Michonne used the last of our toothpaste."

You sigh heavily, lowering your hands around his forearms. "Can't Glenn go?"

"No, I've gotta do this one." He tells you, shaking his head.

"Fine," You say, taking your hands off of his arms. "But promise me you'll make it back in one piece." You hold up your pinky like a little child would have done.

He turns a little, a smile creeping onto his lips as he looks at your hand. "Seriously?"

You nod your head in all seriousness. "Pinky swear."

He shakes his head and hooks pinkies with you, a small chuckle escaping his lips. "Pinky swear, I'll be back in one piece."

You smile in approval. "Now you'd better not break your promise."

He nods, still smiling at you.

You go to pull him in for another hug but instead he cups your face in his hands and presses his lips against yours.

When he pulls away he tells you, "I think that's way better than a pinky swear."

You nod in agreement and he starts to lean in again but is interrupted by Daryl banging on the hood of the car shouting at you guys. "Hurry it up love birds, we're running out of food here."

You look over at him and he's looking back with a mischievous smile on his face.

Rick gives up and walks to the car.

You shout back at Daryl, "Take care of my man, Mr. Dixon."

He gives you a solid nod. "You know I will." Then he gets in the car followed by Rick.

You slide the gate open and they pull out of Alexandria. Rosita helps you close and lock the gate behind them.

"They'll be back." She tells you. "They always come back."

You nod. "I know."
