Kin x Borrower!Griffin!Reader
(Requested by: @samtheskeletongirl )
Before you all tell me this, I know that a borrower is supposed to be a humanoid being. To be honest with you, I think it's cuter to have a super tiny griffin nuzzle Kin than a humanoid Griffin. That, and I also couldn't find a picture of a humanoid griffin, so here we are.
Being a borrower and a griffin is extraordinarily difficult. Not only are you extremely small, but your body is much wider than a normal, miniature creature. The holes you had to create for yourself were more noticeable, causing you to have to find very sneaky places to hide away. You rarely came out of your hiding spots, but you didn't starve yourself either. You just, ate when you had to and hide when you didn't.
The home you were staying in happened to be owned by a young skeleton, dragon hybrid. He was much more of a skeleton than a dragon, but the tail didn't hide itself either. The boy was very quiet and often kept to himself, hence your constant hiding. He was quiet, so you had to be careful so that you wouldn't get caught. Kin, as some call him, also has heightened senses comparing to normal skeletons and humans. This is extremely difficult to move around with, so you keep yourself hidden all day and wait for him to leave, or go to sleep, before you finally make move around.
Sadly, you haven't been able to get food for yourself in a few days because of his lack of disappearances. Of course, you knew it would be a huge risk to have yourself discovered by the hybrid, but starvation sounded much worse than any death he could give you. Sprinting out of your hidden home, you find yourself on a small kitchen counter investigating the area for any signs of leftover food. Your ears perked up at the sound of claws clicking on the floor of the small cabin. You recognized the noise and quickly flew high into the air, looking for a cabinet to hide yourself in; completely forgetting about your hideaway hole behind you.
Not a single cabinet was open, so the second best option you had was the fan on the ceiling. As you began to fly upwards and towards your destination, a swift, boney hand grasped your body in a tight hold. Releasing a pained, bird like cry, you begin to thrash around in your captures clutches. Predatory eyes stared at you as you continued to fight against the confines of this fist.
A deep growl imitated from the skeleton holding you, causing your thrashing and squawking to stop entirely. Fear raced through your body and your feathers soon puffed up. The hybrid tilted his head in innocent curiosity as he began to sniff you. Never had he seen a being like you, so it was an understatement to say you were peculiar. Your heart was racing a million miles an hour (good/weird song) while the hybrid brought you closer to his skull. A loud squawk of fear surprised Kin, causing him to let you go. Taking this opportunity to escape, you begin to fly away, only to fail. Your wing was sore and seemed to be in a miserable condition.
Before trying again, your stomach growled loudly. Kin seemed to hear the strange noise and tilted his head. "Hungry, huh?" He said, tapping you gently with his clawed finger. With a fearful nod, you move away from the skele-dragon. Picking you up in a more gentle manner, Kin decided to give you some bread he had before figuring out what you are. Maybe he could keep you as a little pet, or a tiny companion of sorts?
After chowing down on a half a slice of bread, you begin to grow used to Kin's presence. He hasn't tried to hurt you since he first caught you, so that's a plus. He also has been keeping a watchful eye over what you're doing. "Can you speak?" He asks quietly. Shacking your head, you respond with a no. He nods, knowing most birds cannot speak like most humans/monsters can.
Picking you up once more, he began to take you towards his room. Claws clicking as he walked and his tail casually swaying as he moved, he began to enter his bedroom. Everything seemed comfy and fluffy. His 'bed' looked more like a nest of blankets that a child had put together. A few pillows seemed to be thrown into the pile as well, adding to the comfy vibes the nest was giving off. Carefully setting you down on one of the pillows, Kin began to circle himself before laying down in the nest. His hand draped over your body as he began to fall asleep.
Did you have any clue what was going on? No, no you didn't. Kin, being the strange little hybrid he is, chose to keep you around and with him. He didn't wanna kill you, throw you out, or trap you, but he did want to know more about you, so he kept you. How else was he going to know what you are because asking wouldn't work. You had no voice to speak to him with.
A few hours after you both fell asleep, Kin began to stir. Picking you up once more, he began his search for a book he had taken from the librarby. No, it didn't have bunnies on it. No, it wasn't the one on souls. Oh, here it is! He quickly flipped the books pages until he came across a familiar picture. Griffin, was the title of the page. As Kin began to read more and more, he discovered why you might be here. His amulet. Griffins love treasure and his amulet surely fits that category, so you must be here to take it, right?
Wrong, you could care less about taking that from him. All you wanted was a warm home to hide away in and some food to eat, but how could you tell Kin that? You can't speak! Shaking the sleep from your eyes, you squawk a greeting to Kin. He looks at you with squinted eyes. "Do you want to take this?" He asked, lifting his amulet. A swift shake of your feathery head was your only reply. "Then why are you here?"
Wiggling your way out of his grasp, you run off of the little desk he was at and make your way towards the kitchen. Kin quickly follows after you, not wanting you to escape. Climbing the drawers, you make your way to the counter. You then run inside your little hole and return with a small cloth and a grape. Kin tilted his head once more, only to finally figure it out. You just wanted a home.
Should he give you a home, or get rid of you?
(Idk what this is, so here you go. I'm tired... Btw, I'm going to be in Kenya, Africa from June 17 - June 27, so I won't be updating during that time period.💙🌺)
