TWELVE
TWELVE
I stare at my brother in disbelief. He can't be serious. I take a step forward to Scott. "You're going to bite Stiles?" I asked slowly, making sure I had heard him correctly. We were standing in the Sheriff's office.
"To get him through the rift." Scott gives me more information opposed to why he's going to bite Stiles. He sighs, walking around the front desk. We weren't the only ones here, Liam, Peter freaking Hale, and the others' were here too. "It's the only way,"
"Just to clarify," Peter had a butt in, walking over from his spot, he had stood by the entrance. "Are you planning on biting everyone in the train station?" The would be really cool, but at the same not cool if he did because then he would have the biggest pack in the history.
"With Stiles back, he'll be able to help us figure out a plan," Scott explained, which was true. From what I remember, he was the one that came up with the plans. We always had a plan B, too.
"He's good at that." I told Peter, Malia and Lydia walked over to us as well. Scott and I were standing side by side, with Liam on the other side of Scott behind a desk.
"So the plan is to get Stiles to come up with a plan," Peter stated.
"You can shut up now," Malia snapped at her father, glaring.
"Malia, look around. We're the only ones left in Beacon Hills." Peter spoke the truth. At least, that we know of. "If they take us, Lydia and Stacey will be the only ones left to haunt this place." Lydia and I give each other a glance.
"That's why I'm the only person going in." Scott told Peter. "Liam and Hayden will stay here with Mason. As long as somebody is still left in Beacon Hills, the Wild Hunt can't move on."
"I like your plan, Scott. I really do." Peter tells Scott, I think he's being sarastic. "Especially the part about turning Stiles. But it can't work."
"How do you know?" His daughter asked.
"Logic." Peter scoffed. "Life experience. What are the odds he'll get taken? What if Stiles isn't there? What if there's no Beacon Hills you to come back to?"
"You got a better idea?" Liam fires back, Peter is getting on my last nerve. I never liked him back when all this crap began with, I still don't like him till this day.
"Yeah, it's called run like hell," Peter concluded. He turned to his daughter. "So, leave in five?"
Malia walked over to her father. "You promised you'd help us." Malia reminded him. "We still need to find the rift."
"I didn't promise you I'd help you commit suicide." Peter scoffed.
"If you can't help, we can find it ourselves," I spoke up, crossing my arms and leaning on my hip.
"Stacey, I admit that you and Scott have a flair for beating the odds," Peter admits. He inhales. "But, this? You don't walk away from." Peter then backed up to the exit door. "You run." He then left, I blow out some air.
"We didn't need him before, we don't need him now," I reminded myself quitely, he's been pretty much useless for these past couples of years.

Lydia, Scott, Malia and I walk through the Beacon Hills reserve, trying to find the rift that we had been tracking down for hours. "When you were here before, how long until the Ghost Riders showed up?" Scott asked Malia.
Before, she was here with Peter, tracking down the rift. Earlier, Scott and Malia had found Peter burnt up, Mum had fixed him and Malia made him promise to help us with this assignment, trying to find the rift.
That's how we know the rift existed, the rift is the part where you can enter the train station, that's the best way to explain it. "A couple minutes," Malia answered, well, that wasn't long.
"That's reassuring," I mutter, following Malia herself. Scott was up front, Malia was second, I was third and Lydia was last.
"What's the rift suppose to look like?" Malia asked, hoping someone would answer her.
"If it's a tear in the fabric of our world," Lydia commented smartly. "Theoretically, it could look like anything from a microscopic black hole to a flee-floating Einstein-Rosen bridge."
That's when we stopped, I had stopped next to Scott, Lydia and Malia were close by to each other. I was looking out for anything and everything. I then looked up and frowned much like everyone else. "I really hope it's not up there," I commented.
"Let's split up," Scott concluded.
"No way, the last time I split up with you guys I was almost Peter's dinner," I remembered, shuddering from the thought of myself in the library alone at night. Malia casts me a look. "Long story,"
"I remember that," Lydia lets out a sharp laugh. "But remember, you chose to not tell us where you were going."
I let out a huff, knowing she was right. "Stacey, come with me then." Scott offered and I smiled gratefully, and we took off in a direction. There was a tunnel in our direction and I frowned. "Hey, look at this." A few feet away from us, there was a tunnel, slightly covered by trees and bushes. It looked like an old, rusty, tunnel.
It had bared wires that were cut off and curiously, I walked over to see more of it. It leads down a dark tunneled pathway, could this be it? Is it that simple? Is it really in plain sight? Another reason why I thought it was the rift, because of the blacks leaves that were surrounded by the tunnel. Or, pipe tunnel.
Scott then bends down and examines the leave that was burnt off. "The rifts not above us," I say, glancing at Malia and Lydia for their reactions, they just stared at Scott. "It's below."
✢
I jump, landing safely on the ground in the deep, dark, mystery tunnel. I walked over to my friends, who's phone were on the torch app, trying to see through the dark tunnel. Lydia sighed. "I can't see a thing."
"It's gotta be down here somewhere." Scott persevered as he holds up his flash torch and continued to walk down the tunnels. I turned on my torch and followed Malia who was the last to follow of my friends.
We turned the corner, there was a two-way street. We could go left, or we could go right. Being the dumb person I am, I turned right as the others' turned left. It backfired quickly, there was a forcefield in my way and I was instantly thrown to the ground.
I did not see that coming.
Literally.
I let out a gasp as I fly onto my butt, my eyes widening as I was now on the ground next to Scott. I let out a groan. "Found it!" I called. Scott had offered to help me up and I took it and he pulled me up, I smiled. "Thanks,"
He nodded as if to say you're welcome. Closely, you can see the rift shining som green. Scott and I walked behind Malia and Lydia, starring at it. "It's remarkably similar." Lydia softly said.
"To what?" Malia asked, questioning my thoughts.
"To the Einstein-Rosen bridge," Lydia explained.
Eventually, Malia had come back down from the tunnel entrance with a steel. She was going to try and break the barriar. With steel. I mean, it's the best thing we've got so far. Right now, I'm standing next to Scott watching Malia pushed the steel through the invisible force, but, as to my thoughts, it wouldn't budge an inch.
Malia grunts, pulling back steel and she stepped back to us. "There's got to be another way," I say, pacing around the room now. "We just need to use those brains of ours and think."
I gulped. "Think?" Malia asked.
"Yeah," Scott backed me up. He stepped in beside me, as we stare at the invisible wall. "Think about how to get through a supernatural rift that melts steel."
"I didn't say it would be easy," Lydia pointed out.
"But it doesn't have to be so hard." A German accent comes from behind us, we all turned around and saw Mr. Douglas standing there with a small smirk hidden on his face.
✢
After a moment of silences, Scott spoke up. He had slightly pushed me back in front of him, I guess that was an over-protective brother, moment. Though I'm sure if it were Lydia and Malia, he's do the same, right? "He followed our scent," Scott said.
"I followed your desperation." Mr. Douglas said. Malia and Lydia had stood close beside me, too, Scott was in front of me. I was behind, Malia was to my right side and Lydia was to my left. Malia held her steel. "We're all in a tough spot. Desperate to get inside and save everyone and hoping to find a way to stop this army from the dead. We all want the same thing."
"He has a point." Lydia ever so slowly says.
"If he doesn't kill anyone." Malia added.
"Else," Scott added on from Malia. "If he doesn't kill anyone else."
"All that matters right now is getting through the rift." Mr. Douglas showed no emotion on his face.
"Then you're out of luck." Malia gestures towards her pipe of steel.
"The rift burns anything that tries to pass through it." I finally spoke up.
"Perhaps not everything." Mr. Douglas replied. That's when you can see Parrish coming in behind him, with a burnt like body. Parrish lets out a growl, showing his fangs and his eyes glow a bright green when usually they would glow a bright orange.
"Jordan." Lydia sternly says, stepping forward slightly.
Parrish doesn't respond. It's too late, Mr. Douglas has already turned him agaisnt us. "If the Hellhound can open the rift, we all can go in together."
"You're the bad guy," Malia pointed out bluntly. "I'm pretty sure helping you is a bad idea."
"Good guy. Bad guy. When has anything ever been so black and white?" Mr. Douglas seethed at us.
"World War 11." Come in a panting Liam. My eyebrows raised, what the hell is Liam doing here? "He's a Nazi," Liam informs. "He wants the Hunt for himself. He wants his own supernatural army."
Makes sense. I watched the whip that he had in his hands unfold onto the ground. "We're not letting you through that rift." Scott stated, thank God Liam came here with the facts.
"Not letting me?" Mr. Douglas repeated. "I see. You still think you have say in the matter." He then lets out a grunt and lets out the whip, and Scott pushed me back with him and I stumble a little bit.
Scott lets out a big roar, I can imagine his eyes are glowing a bright red, with his fangs out and I can see his claws. Mr. Douglas continued to whip us back, Lydia grabbed me by the hand and pulls me forcefully over to Liam and she lets out a whimper as we lean agaisnt the wall.
At least we weren't trapped in between the invisible rift and Mr. Douglas anymore. But, Scott and Malia were. I watched as Mr. Douglas whips and Malia had made a dash towards our safe wall. Scott lets out another roar.
And a few whips later, he had come over to our safe wall. "Hollenhund." Mr. Douglas calls. Parrish had then walked over to the invisible wall, and pushed agaisnt it, trying to break his way through.
It was kind of cool, seeing the green go all crazy. "Parrish, stop!" Scott pleaded. Parrish kept grunting his way through and by the looks of things, he was being successful. Mr. Douglas had whipped us back.
My eyes only widen when I saw that the invisible rift was... gone. Parrish kind of stands gaurd for Mr. Douglas as he looks at the rift that's now gone. "Wunderbar." Mr. Douglas mutters. Parrish roars. He spoke to Parrish in German and Parrish had followed Mr. Douglas into the rift.
"Now!" Malia tells us and we all sprinted round to the corner, only, the rift was back again.
"No," I whisper, terrified. That's when two Ghost Riders appeared in front of us, walking through the rift. Scott kept backing us up, and Ghost Riders kepts walking forward.
"Liam, you, Lydia and Stacey get to the bunker." Without another word, Liam had grabbed my wrist and pulled me along with Lydia and we were sprinting. We were going to Argent's bunker. We all pant softly as we turned the corner, I was really sure what was happening. But there was a roar at some point.
"That roar didn't soud promising." Liam said, turning his head to us.
"Well, they rarely are." I commented.
"Keep going. Keep going." Lydia urges us. We soon started to run, but, I gasped when I saw a Ghost Rider blocking our entrance with a gun. Being protective of the young boy, Lydia and I stand in front of Liam.
I held my breathe as the Ghost Rider points his gun at us, but then raised it up as if he was retreating. "What's happening?" Liam asked in shock.
"I don't know. But stay behind us." Lydia whispered back. The Ghost Rider had lowered its gun. "Follow us." Lydia and I made sure Liam was behind us and we made our way through without the Ghost Rider shooting us.
What the hell.
We walked backward, not keeping our eyes off the thing as we were already making our way back to the bunker again. "It's afaird of you guys," Liam said. The Ghost Rider looked scary standing there in the hallway.
"I'm afaird of me," I mutter but then decided to take this chance and run.
✢
I stare at my brother's phone. "We're sorry the number you have reached is not in service." Mum's voicemail sends through. Mum, they took her. "Please check the number you have checked or try to call again."
"Scott." Malia whispered. She was leaning against our fridge as we were all in our house. I could see the pained looked on Scott's face, though, I wasn't doing much better. They took our mum. Malia had walked over to Scott and placed a hand on his shoulder for somewhat comfort. Liam was sitting next to me and Lydia was standing by the windows.
Then it hit me. We're quite possibly the only one's left in Beacon Hills. That's a scary thought because if everyone else leaves... then, Lydia and I'll be the only ones left to haunt this town. Lydia and I locked eyes, she was thinking the same thing too.
"Scott," Malia tried again and sat down near him. "Your mum is gone, but she's still alive." Malia slides the phone away from Scott who's head turns to me, he wasn't showing any emotion but I knew he was sad on the inside.
"Emergency hug." He whispers so softly that I almost missed it. That made my heart warm when we were little we had this thing called emergency hug. I nodded slowly and stood up, so did Scott. We then walked over to each other and he wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight. I held him tight, too. I can't lose Scott's, he's the only family I have at the moment.
This hug lastest for a few seconds, I haven't had an emergency hug in ages. We broke apart, eventually, I think that if I might start to talk I might start to cry. I'm an ugly crier. "What do we do now?" Liam asked, breaking the silences as Scott stood by my side.
"We can't hide from them forever." Malia sadly said, which was true.
"What about Stacey and Lydia?" Liam offered. "The Ghost Riders are afaird of them."
"It wasn't fear. Its..." Lydia trailed off, as we all now sat around my dinner table. "Almost like reverence."
"Doesn't matter," Scott said. "The rift's gone. We're the only ones left in Beacon Hills."
Then, there was a soft knock on the door. Sheriff Stilinski, oh, my god! "I have a son." Mr. Stilinski started off. I perked up, interested. "His name is Mieczyslaw Stilinski. But we call him Stiles." He looked at me. "I remember." That made me smile.
"When Stiles was a little kid, he couldn't say his first name. Not sure why. It pretty much rolls off the tongue. But, uh, the closet he could get was Mischief. His mother called that until..." He then breathed in.
"I remember when, uh... when Stiles first got his Jeep. It belonged to his mother. She wanted him to have it. The first time when he took a spin behind the wheel, he went straight into a ditch." That made me laugh softly.
"I gave him his first roll of duct tape that day. He was always getting into trouble. But he always had a good heart. Always. We're here tonight because my goofball son decided to drag Scott and leave Stacey behind because he didn't want her to get hurt, his greatest best friends in the world, into the woods to see a dead body."
"How did you remember?" Scott asked.
"It started with Stiles jersey," Mr. Stilinski takes a seat beside me. "Then I found the red ball of string for his crime board. Finally, his whole room came back and all the memories. And then the strangest thing happened."
"What?" I asked, turning my head to him.
"I thought I saw him." I held my breath, he saw Stiles? "It's like... something opened right there in the middle of the room. Just for a moment. And it was gone."
"A rift." Scott realized.
"I thought there was only one rift," Malia said. "We saw it disappear."
"You remember Stiles and then a new rift was created," Scott said.
"If the Sheriff can do it..."
"Maybe we can," I finished.
"But that rift closed," Liam said.
"Then we'll open it again," Scott concluded.
"How?" Mr. Stilinski whispered.
"By remembering Stiles." Scott looked at us. "We have to remember everything."
