2 - That Ginger

The UA entrance exam was exhilarating. I blew up so many of the robots, I must've gotten an indisputable first place. The written portion was just as easy. I could've passed even without Deku looking at everyone else's papers and giving me the clearly incorrect answers.

Not even two weeks later, Deku came into my room in the middle of the night and yelled "Hey, you've got your letter!" I got up out of bed and swung at the spirit, though my hand just phased right through him. "Don't you ever sleep, Deku?" I asked. "I can, but I don't need to," Deku responded. Stupid nerd. I went downstairs and out to the mailbox. It was still dark outside. I couldn't stand being haunted.

I took the letter back to my room and crashed back to sleep on my bed. When I woke up again, I reached for the letter and looked over at Deku hovering above the floor. "What, you didn't open it?" I demanded. He shrugged. "I'd love to, but I'm not corporeal, in case you've forgotten," he replied, sticking his leg through my torso and sending a cold shiver down my spine.

The holographic message in the letter informed me that I had gotten into UA, but hadn't gotten any hero points. "Hero points?" I questioned to myself. "It means you weren't being a hero, Kacchan," Deku said. "Shut up, nerd, I know that." I had to prepare to go to UA. Part of the preparation was designing a hero costume. Stupid Deku kept watching me and judging my choices.

The first day of school, I looked for Class 1-A. I walked in and studied the competition. A few of the students I saw from the entrance exam were there. I sat in the second chair in the last row and put my feet on the table. An invisible girl sat in front of me, talking across the classroom. Once the class had settled and our homeroom teacher started talking, Eraser foot or whatever, I looked behind me. There was a ginger with a ponytail right behind me, and behind her was a tiny boy who seemed delighted to have a girl sitting both in front of and behind him. I turned back around and almost jumped out of my seat. Deku was sitting on the teachers desk and mimicking everything he said. I could barely concentrate.

During our gym class events, I did excellent in each one. Deku, for once, decided to stop focusing on me and annoyed my classmates. "I just got really cold, does anyone else feel that?" Someone asked. I turned around and saw Deku floating through the guy with elbow tumors. "Deku, stop," I said, quietly enough for him to hear me. "I'm bored!" He complained. "Why don't you just go find All Might somewhere?" I asked. "I tried. But he's more than half a mile away from you, and wherever he is, I can't reach him."

Back in class, I sat down and ginger ponytail tapped my shoulder. "What do you want, ginger?" I asked. "My name is Itsuka Kendo. I need to ask you something. Are you being haunted?" she asked. I stared at her then nodded. "Yeah, so am I..." she whispered. "I thought people only haunted their killers. Are you a murderer?" I asked. "No, what? I've never heard of that. My older sister haunts me. She died before I was born. I came to UA because she had wanted to go and never got a chance-"

"Enough about your tragic backstory, we're not at your arc yet, extra. Tell me more about the ghost thing," I said. "Class 1-A! Please quiet down!" The blue haired boy with leg tumors interrupted. I turned around despite not wanting to listen to him.

I needed the ginger to talk to me about ghosts, since Deku wasn't going to be a help.
