9 || SEBASTIAN
She laughed as Sebastian made a joke again. He grinned when he saw she laughed, he was glad that she was happy with him.
"Thank you for tonight, Seb."
She said, a flash of happiness was clear in her eyes. They had a dinner together at the restaurant and it was amazing. Now they were sitting on a bench on the hill, enjoying the view of the city and the skies. She wondered how Sebastian knew this place.
"Thanks to you, Y/N. I've never been this happy for so long."
He acknowledged, and she nodded in agreement; she was feeling the same too.
"I already like you so much, Y/N."
Sebastian confessed as his heart pounded rapidly against his chest. This woman made his world moved slower and he felt like happiness and joy surrounded him everytime she was around.
"I like you too."
She smiled at him, making he chuckled nervously. He knew that she was the one for him. His mind and heart was telling him so even if he wasn't so sure about how she was feeling.
"Can we go out again, Y/N?"
He asked nervously, afraid if her answer might be no. But she her smile went wider and she nodded immediately.
"Of course. I'd love to."
She said honestly. He breathed of relief and he didn't realize that he was holding his breathe. She smiled and under the moonlight, she looked even prettier than she already was. She could be the death of him.
"So you always go to the library?"
She brought him back to the reality by her question. He nodded and thought of something.
"I moved here two years ago and I've always take some time to go to the library since that. Reading is my way in escaping-"
"The world. Yes, me too."
Y/N cut his words and continued. He smiled but frowned in how common they were.
"So, do you always go there? 'Cause I've never seen you before."
He asked her. Her face suddenly dropped and her smile turned into a frown. He quickly realized that if he asked her a wrong question that might hurt her in anyway.
"I've always go there before. I had a best friend, and we will go to the library together. We will spend our time there almost every weekend and we will always lose each other there because we were too carried away with the books."
She laughed silently when she told him that. But then it turned into a sad smile.
"But that was three years ago, Seb. After his death, I didn't go to the library anymore. I was trapped in our memories that I can't get him out of my mind. After a year of his death, I got better but I still couldn't step in the library. The urge to cry was too high when I was there. He was a huge part of my life, and he still am."
A tear rolled down her face but Sebastian quickly wiped it away with his thumb. He sighed heavily, regretting that he made her told the story and cried.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N."
He apologized. She smiled and shook her head, signalling that it was alright.
"What makes you go there two days ago?"
She wanted to answer him but then her voice caught in her throat. She couldn't tell him that Tom has came back so she was happy to finally go there again with him. Sebastian will definitely says that she was crazy.
"Um, it's better now, I think. I realized that I shouldn't live like that forever. So I went to the library and I felt happy somehow. The memories warmed my heart. And I will go there again now."
Y/N said while taking her gaze away from him. Sebastian cracked a smile and sighed happily.
"If you didn't go there, we wouldn't meet. Thanks to your best friend. I met such a pretty and kind girl like you because of him."
He said. She just smiled and couldn't help but agree with him. Sebastian was right, if it wasn't because of Tom, then they wouldn't meet at the library that day.
"Your best friend must be such a good person. I had a best friend once, but not anymore."
He confessed, his heart ache when he thought about that. She noticed the tears that pricked in his eyes, and she put her hand on his; assuring him that she was there to listen.
"If you don't want to talk about it, Seb. It's fine."
He shook his head with a small smile.
"It's not that sad, really. His name was Samuel. We were friends since we were in school. We did everything together until six years ago, everything fell apart just because of a woman."
His voice was sharped and she could see the pain in his eyes.
"Samuel dated her but he didn't know what she got under her sleeves. That one night, we were all in my house. Sam went to the bathroom and it was just me and his girlfriend in the living room. I knew something was wrong so I was going to leave until Sam come back, but then she pulled me towards her. She told me that she dated Sam just to get nearer with me so she could know me more. I was furious when she said that she didn't love Sam at all, but she loved me. I mean- she couldn't lie at my best friend like that. I pushed her away and-"
He stopped and bit his lips to contain the rage that started to grow back in his chest.
"She kissed me. Of course, I shoved her away but Sam has seen it all and thought that I was stealing his girl and all- It was stupid. She acted like a victim and cried so Sam trusted her and blamed me. Our friendship for years has crashed just because he thought that I stole his girlfriend. I've never wanted that girl, she was not good nor sincere with him. But he chose her than our friendship. I lost my best friend."
He finished his story and shut his eyes tightly. Y/N cupped his face with her small hands, making he opened his eyes to look at her.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Seb. But I think you're a good friend. He was the one who didn't see that."
She reassured him and smiled comfortingly. Her hands caressed his face and she couldn't help but drowned in his blue eyes. She found comfort and pain in them, as she drown more and more without thinking about anything else.
"Y/N, thank you."
He whispered into her ears and his muscular arms wrapped around her waist. He didn't feel this way before with any other girls, and it kind of scared him on how he got close to Y/N in a short amount of time. But it felt so right.
The moment felt so perfect. They were holding each other under the moonlight. It has never felt more beautiful than that in their lives.
But then, something has just to ruin it. Sebastian's phone rang, making he rolled his eyes dramatically. He mouthed 'sorry' to her and she asked him to take the call.
"Hello?"
He answered the call right beside her and not leaving her side. It was his way on showing her that there was nothing that he wanted to hide from her. She listened as he talked about work with whom she thought his boss his friend. When he was finished, he gave her an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry. It was work."
"I understand. So you work in the Holland Industries?"
She asked him with a smile. He just nodded at her.
"Yeah. Nothing big."
"Nothing big?! It is a huge business and you're one of the important people in the company, am I right?"
She whispered-yelled at him with a grin. He chuckled at her adorableness and poked her nose.
"So what do you do, Y/N?"
She hated that question. Too many people hated her choice to be an author so she was a little bit stressed out to answer him.
"I'm working on to be an author."
"Cool!"
Her eyes widen. She was expecting for him to laugh at her but he didn't. And she could see that he was sincere.
"I'm working so hard to get a place as an author, Seb. Eight years and still counting."
She joked, but he frowned at her.
"You'll be a great author, Y/N. Someday I'll see your book in the bookstores and I'll buy it and show it off to people. Trust me, you'll be a huge success."
He motivated her. But from his point of view, he wasn't just advising her but he was telling the truth. He knew that she was a brilliant person and she could be more than she already was. She deserved more in her life.
"Thanks, Seb. It's mean a lot to me."
Then they continued to watch the skies as the night got darker. He sent her home and they both knew it wasn't going to be their last date.
