2 || DARLING?
"Y/N."
A soft whisper got into her ears as she was still sleeping comfortably in her bed. After crying last night, it made it harder for her to wake up in the morning. She was so sleepy from the tears that she shed.
"Y/N, wake up."
She didn't open her eyes at all but buried herself deeper in the sheets instead. She thought that voice was ringing in her dream.
"Oh my god, can you please just wake up now, Y/N?"
Then it hit her hard. She recognized that voice everywhere and everytime. But it can't be real. She was dreaming, at least that was what she thought.
"Wake up!"
Someone shook her body, making she groaned in frustration and opened her eyes. But as soon as her eyes peeled open, she saw someone that she was dying to meet for three years.
"Th-Thomas?"
She sat up on the bed as her eyes wide opened. Her jaw dropped and she couldn't form any words to describe what she was feeling at that time.
"Hello, Y/N. Miss me?"
That voice. That face. That person.
"It's really you."
She breathed out, tears pooled in her eyes as she looked at Tom. He nodded and chuckled under his breathe when she lost her words. He plopped down on the bed beside her and acted like nothing happened.
"This is impossible."
She still couldn't believe what was happening. Thomas William Hiddleston, her dead best friend, was in her room, on her bed.
"Nothing is impossible, darling."
He smiled sweetly at her and she couldn't help but blushed crimson. But when she quickly shook her head and jumped out of the bed.
"No,no- Tom is dead. You're not him, you're not real!"
She screamed like a mad woman but he just smiled. Something inside of her stirred when she thought that she might be thinking about him too much until she became crazy.
"Yes, I'm not alive, but practically real."
He walked towards her until her back was pressed against the wall. She looked at him closely and noticed that he was still the same, still as handsome as ever even if he was pale.
"What do you mean?"
She asked, curiosity filled her eyes as she looked at him.
"You can touch me."
He smirked. She raised her eyebrows and chuckled slightly. She didn't believe him, obviously.
"You're not Tom."
"I am Tom."
"No, you're not!"
Tom rolled his eyes dramatically and grabbed her hand softly. Then he put her hand on his face, allowing her to feel his skin against hers.
"Look. You can touch me, Y/N."
Tears welled in her eyes as she caressed his face softly, not taking her gaze away from him. He felt so real, and she was slowly convinced that he was her dead best friend.
"Thomas?"
She called out softly and he nodded at her. She threw herself in his arms and cried into his chest uncontrollably. She held onto him like he was her only lifeline.
"I miss you so much.."
She didn't hold back her tears and tightened her arms around him. She didn't want to lose him again.
"I miss you too, Y/N."
He whispered and cupped her face. She was looking right into his eyes and noticed that even if there was no heartbeat, he was still there.
"You're a-"
"Yes, I'm a ghost."
He admitted and hung his head, like he was ashamed with himself. But she gave him a comforting smile.
"You came back."
Tears streamed down her face like waterfall but Tom quickly wiped them away with his thumbs.
"Thank you for coming back."
Tom laughed and kissed the top of her head lovingly.
"You wanted me to come, so here I am."
"Will you stay here?"
She asked hopefully, she didn't want him to go anytime soon. Even if he was a ghost.
"Of course I will. I have nowhere to go. I have no family and last time I checked, my apartment was sold."
She nodded slightly and looked up at him when he sighed.
"I only have you, Y/N."
He whispered and rested his chin on the top of her head, in advantage that he was so much taller than her. She missed being held in his arms, and suddenly her old feelings came rushing back to her heart.
"How long you will be staying here?"
Her voice was small, still unsure with what was happening. Tom cupped her face and smiled at her.
"You still don't trust me, do you?"
When she didn't answer, he just chuckled and shook his head slightly.
"I'm your best friend, Y/N. I know you might be scared of me right now but you still here and not screaming when I said that I'm a ghost. So you should trust me."
He reasoned, tears formed in his eyes as he gazed down at his best friend that he missed so much. Y/N was the one who was always be there for him, and three years he has been alone- it was good to see her again.
"I trust you, ghost."
She joked, a smile creeped on her face. Tom laughed and joy attacked her without stopping when she finally heard his laughs again.
It was music to her ears.
