"Stop it!" I complained loudly to my friend Becky.
"Make me," she said poking my cheek again. I smacked her hand, hard.

"STOP," I say.

"But whyyyyyy," she asks. I roll my eyes and grab her wrist.

"Because we're at work. Now, stop messing around. Go get some more sage from the back. We need it," I say. You, Becky, and I work at a cleansing shop. Some people come in for readings, yes, I'm a medium. Becky comes out when someone walks through the shop doors.

"We're going to need to wipe down the statues soon!" Becky shouts out. My head perks up. That's our code when there's a group of guys here. Something happened a while ago when a group of guys came in. I'll tell you about that later though.

"Hi, do you mind if we film in here?" a man asks. He was a little overweight, but not much, he has a beard and a bald head. He looked oddly familiar.

"Yes, you may," I say, smiling.

"She said we could," the man calls back.

"Great! So, um, we heard there's a medium that works here?" a tall man with black hair asks. I freeze in my spot and look at him. He had a black aura around him. I clear my throat.

"Yes, there is. May I ask what you'd like to talk to her about?" I ask.

"We're doing an investigation down the road. We were wondering if she could come with us? I'm Zak by the way," the man with black hair asks, sticking his hand out. I lightly shook his hand and looked at the other three men. I made eye contact with one of the cameramen.

"Jay?" I ask.

"Hey there, Addie," he says.

"Jay!" I exclaim. I walk over to Jay and give him a hug. He sets the camera down and hugs me back.

"I thought I recognized this place," he jokes.

"You know, mom would be happy if you visited her," I say.

"Yeah, I was planning on doing it before we left for the lockdown," Jay says. We release each other and Zak says,

"Are we missing something?"

"This is my sister-" Jay starts.

"Addie! Oh my gosh! You've changed!" the bald man exclaims.

"Aaron!?" I nearly shout, "Look at you! You've lost so much weight!" Aaron chuckles and engulfs me in a hug. I hug back and look over at the other cameraman. My smile fades and I go over to him. He looks at me, confused. "I'm sorry for your loss," I say.

"What!? How-" the man starts.

"Guys!" Jay exclaims loudly, "This is my sister Addie. She's a medium."

"That makes so much sense!" Zak exclaims.

"I'm Billy," the other cameraman says. I nod.

"Nice to meet you," I say.

"SO?" Jay asks.

"What?" I ask.

"Are you up for the investigation?" he asks again.

"Where is it?" I ask.

"The-" Zak starts.

"Surprise!" Jay shouts. I look at Jay and then the rest of the men.

"Fine," I say. Jay sighs in relief. "But! If it's anywhere you know I don't like," I say pointing at Jay, "You're screwed on April fools day." Jay looks at me with horror in his eyes. I've always been the prank queen in the family. Jay frowns and goes to say something.

"Oh, you'll be fine," Zak says, "We're also going there right now. If you could?" I smile and look at Becky.

"Close up shop for me?" I ask.

"Yeah, yeah. Just go," she says.

"Thanks," I say, "let's go." Jay sighs and we all go out to their van, where we start to head out to their - our, investigation.
