Episode 8 ( part 2 )

~ starlight aquarium ~

" oh gosh baby you better stop playing around with those fish" I laugh as Andrew was tracing his fingers along the glass.

" they seem friendly, and they all so cute" he said pressing his face a little more towards the glass.

A lot of folks was walking around, and some gotten even closer to far as going inside the water with the fishes, and baby sharks.

Me on the other hand I wasn't up for any of that, but of course andrew was all for it when the opportunity came around.

" i don't think I want you inside a fish tank" I said as he was handing me his phone and other things that could cause electrical shock.

" trust me it's going to be very Epic I even have fans watching me" he smirk before I looked over to see everyone with their cameras out.

Including the group of females that was eyeing him from a far.

I rolled my eyes as he was in nothing but his boxers and I could hear the whistling and flirty outbursts.

The safety guy gave Andrew a diving outfit and my attention soon shifted over to the boys.

They looked at me before giving a small smirk and taking off on the opposite side of the aquarium.

I looked back to see Andrew diving into the tank with two other volunteers.

He waved at me as I gave  him a friendly wave back.

I knew he was enjoying himself and the eyes that was watching him so I decided to walked off.

Turing the corner I was greeted by four walls and a dead end.

Placing my hands on my hips I turn around in a circle as I could hear their giggling but no sign of them.

" lady why are you following us"

" because it's my job to try and help you both crossover. it's nothing here for you boys"

They laughed at me as i was finally able to see their faces.

" what's Crossing over ?, Our dad is coming to pick us up and we are going to play football at the park"

I squatted down so that I was eye level with them and I never like to bring bad news to a spirit because of what they are capable of.

But these boys was confuse and I'm not sure if they know that they are dead.

" what's your names" i said with a soft tone.

" I'm Dylan and that's Hendrix"

" you both have nice names, when was your father supposed to pick you boys up?"

Hendrix threw the football up before looking at me.

" on his birthday. That's when we always go to the park and play he always wanted to celebrate his birthday with us.

Sighing to myself I knew explaining anything to kent about this was definitely going to be a world spin.

" there you are, why are you all the way in a corner" Andrew said while scaring the crap out of me.

" don't do that" I said slapping his chest " I had two visitors"

" ooh that's interesting who were they?"

I twisted my face before speaking again " Kent sons"'

Andrew drew a smirk on his face before a chuckled came out.

" Kent don't have any kids" he said with certainty.

" he did, but I think it was before he met my sister. Two boys Dylan, and Hendrix it's sad because I don't think that they know..,"

"Their dead" he finish before he shook his head.

" exactly. Promise me you won't bring this up to kent it's bad enough that I haven't told him about my gift and bringing this type of information to him would be devastating"

Andrew pulled me into his arms as i could feel wet droplets splashing on my shoulders from his hair.

"Ugh you still wet" I said moving away.

" not enough" he joked before we exit out the building.

As Andrew was placing his bags Into the trunk I sat in the truck to figure out ways to explain my gift.

A ding from a phone cause me to snap out of my daze as I lean over to see it wasn't mines.

Looking back Andrew was still placing his bags in while talking to the owner of the aquarium.

Nervously I touch his phone as it lit up with a name.

My face was steaming with so much heat but as the trunk closed I shut his screen off, and sat back in the seat.

" the owner wants me to come back he said he had so many people wanting to go inside the tank" drew said while entering the vehicle.

" oh wow that's great news" i said blunt before facing the window.

I could feel his eyes still watching me as the truck not once moved.

" are you okay? If you hungry I can..."

" no I'm fine, but I kinda just want to go home I have a lot on my mind from the spirits to telling Kent what's going on"

He placed his hands on me and a tear slip from my eyes.

" I love you"

Without facing him I continue to kept my watery eyes looking out the window.

~ Lunch date ~

It was still kent birthday weekend and to end it off on this bright gorgeous morning Melissa wanted us to go on a picnic at the park and have lunch.

Andrew was fixing up some adult games to play, as Melissa was setting up the table.

I remain Inside the car just watching how happy kent looked while talking to everyone.

I wasn't ready to give him this hard news to take in.

As I applied some lotion on my arms and legs I pop my head up as I could hear laughing and talking.

They was back. Playing around their father as if he was watching them and he wasn't.

I could also see the anger on Hendrix face as he was talking and holding up the football to kent but unfortunately he wasn't able  to see or hear them.

I tried to fight  my tears back as I noticed Andrew waving me down to join them all at the table.

" damn i thought we going to have to drag you by your hair to come eat" Melissa said while making her a burger.

I smiled but it soon faded as I watch the boys surround Kent steady trying to get his attention.

" I would like to thank you guys for accepting me to be apart of your family, thank you drew for allowing me to join the fire team family you all mean so much to me"

" WHAT!! DAD WHAT ABOUT US!!" Hendrix yelled causing everyone to cover their ears as a loud noise took over.

" whew what the hell was that?" Melissa said pulling her hands back down.

" probably a cop car he's getting somebody" Kent added.

I couldn't hold it in any longer. They was dying to get his attention, to talk to him.

" no it wasn't" I spoke up.

Andrew looked over with his eyes big before his nose flare up.

" don't do this Grace"

" don't do what?" Mel ask

" nothing she just... the heat can get to Grace sometimes" Andrew came back.

" kent.. I'm sorry to tell you this but I'm just going to and you have to accept it, but you have two spirits by your side begging for your attention."

Everyone got quiet as I knew Melissa was looking at me lost and Kent was in shock.

" what.. wh..why would I have ghosts around me"

" technically their not strangers..."

" Grace"Andrew said through his teeth

"Their your sons"

I could see all the blood rushing out Kent's face as he held onto his chest while he tried to stand up.

I watch as Andrew palm his face not thinking I would really tell Kent straight out, but my job was to bring the spirits peace and get them to crossover.

" no... no you can't possibly know anything about them" he said shaking his head

I could see his head turn to my sister as if he thought she might have told me but she didn't.

" Grace this isn't funny stop this now" Melissa said to me.

" I'm not lying kent their names are Dylan and Hendrix tell me if I'm wrong"

He gasp before collapsing to his knees.

" Andrew please can you walk with Melissa I have to talk to Kent....alone" I begged but his face expressions was still upset that I even did this.

" please he needs me and his sons need to know so that they can crossover...please" I whisper

He sucked his teeth before getting up and walking over to Melissa as they both left me and Kent alone.

" Grace is that true are you really.." Melissa  said but I stop her.

" I'll have Andrew explain everything to you and I'm
Sorry that I've been keeping this secret for so long but he needs my help right now"

Turing my attention back to Kent who was still on the grass I sat next to him.

"I...I don't have any words I can't believe I'm even about to do whatever I'm about to do... I don't even know what I'm about..."

" it's okay kent I will help you"

" are they here... now"

I looked up to see them sitting on each side of him.

" yes their both beside you right now."

" what do i say to them"?"

" how about you start with what happen that day"

He took a paused which I could have expected before wiping his eyes.

" it was my birthday and I was supposed to have been getting the boys. I told them that I would take them to park, and we could play some games of football. Well I started my drinking a little to early and I knew I should have just reschedule."

He sniff before looking up at the sky.

" why are they still down here and not in heaven?" he cried.

" because they haven't found closure I don't think they know... that you know" I said.

" ask my dad why mom was so mad with him" Dylan ask.

" Kent Dylan wants to know why was their mom so mad with you"

" buddy she wasn't mad... I wasn't feeling well once I got to the house and she was disappointed that I let you both down. I wasn't able to take you guys to the park but I swore to your mother that I was good enough to take you guys for ice cream."

" oh yeah the ice cream I remember it started melting" said Hendrix.

" Kent Hendrix said that he remember the ice cream trip but it started melting."

" gosh man this hurts" he said through his tears.

" it's okay that's what I'm here for to make their transition and yours a whole lot easier even if it means that I have to bring back up the past in order for everyone to find peace with everything" I said rubbing his back.

" ask daddy why our ice cream's started melting"

" they want to know why they ice creams was melting" I smiled.

" Um, as I was driving we stop at a ice cream shop they grab their favorite kinds, me I wasn't really into anything cold so afterwards we left.... I was on
Um my way to take them back home and I told myself that if I could make it to the ice cream shop then I could Take my sons to the park and play a little football well....."

" it's okay take your time, their listening"

" I didn't know it but I was doing well I thought I was doing the speed limit but I wasn't. Instead I was going 90 on a 55 but it felt normal. I looked up just for split second to ask them how their ice cream taste and before I could  even get an answer I heard a horn blow very loud,  and when i looked i was coming inches towards a truck so I swerved hard and the car started to flip."

" I remember we thought we was just going on a very swirly road"

" no Dylan you wasn't.. what happen next kent"

" once we finally came to a complete stop I couldn't move everything was hurting. I started to call out for them both and when I wasn't getting any replies back I already knew what I had done. The car was so fucked that I didn't bother to try and rescue myself I wanted my life to end that day. I took away my  boys forever because I thought that i was good to drive them to get ice cream"

" I wanted to be so FUCKING SELFISH THAT I LOST MY KIDS" He said before hitting the ground with rage and anger.

I watch as the boys started to cry as they was trying to tell Kent that it was okay.

" Kent you can't keep holding on to this. It was a mistake no one knew that was going to happen but it did and even thought you can't change the past you can change how you move forward with it."

I moved over to him but he back away.

" that's just it Grace I never knew how to really deal with the fact that I killed my sons because I wanted to drink.. that liquor wasn't worth it" he buried his face into the grass then back up " it wasn't worth it man"

" Grace tell daddy that we're not upset with him" said Hendrix

" yeah tell him that mommy still loved him and we still love him but all wanted was to play football for his birthday ask him can he play with us"

I gave Kent a moment to cry and let all his guilt that he was holding onto out.

" Kent your sons said that they was never mad with you that they love you, their mother Learn to make peace with what happen and they want you to do the same."

" how can I do that Grace, how can I just let them go"

" there not asking you to let go but they are Asking for you to forgive yourself, and they also want to do one more thing before they go"

" Grace I can't do anything else I'm weak, I'm drained..."

" play football with them. That's what they want kent that's why they couldn't move on because the last thing they Remember was getting ice cream knowing that you all was going to go play but it never happen"

" I don't even have a ball"

I smiled before standing to my feet and dusting off.

I quickly ran over to the truck and grab Andrew football that was sign by one of his favorite football players.

He takes it everywhere for good luck.

I walked back over before throwing the ball to Kent.

" now you do, go play and I know it may feel weird at first but they will love that you kept your promise"

I smiled as his boys ran out into the field waiting for Kent.

He then walked out into the field before positioning his hands to throw the ball.

Once the ball left his grip it went across the yard and I smiled as I watch both boys push each other just to see who would catch it.

Kent watch as the ball drop to the grass. We waited for a split second, and a gasp left his lips as we watch the ball fly back but not going as far.

" oh my god they really are here Grace" Kent said before dropping to his knees and I walked over to embrace him into a hug.

" that's all we wanted.. we love you daddy... and thank you Grace" they both said to me.

" your welcome" i mouth.

" they going to crossover now. They wanted you to know  that's all they ever wanted, and you made that happen for them."

We could feel their winds brush across our faces and Melissa, and Andrew came back to give their love to Kent because he's going to need all of it.
