Episode 7 ( part two )

~ Hope hospital ~

The next Morning was hell for everyone as the police officers and fireman's was out searching for the women husband who was still missing.

Getting a little update from Andrew he told me that they was able to find traces of tire marks just outside a bridge where parts of the metal railing was missing.

The bridge they happen to come over was one that covered huge body of water which wasn't a good sign.

It could possibly take a couple days before they find him.

I guess they have their work cut out for them today.

I was now walking into the elevator and on my way to the second floor Hoping I could get more information like starting with a name.

" good morning I was hoping to speak with the women who was admitted last night?"

"Sure honey what's the name?" The receptionist ask while tapping on the laptop.

" Um I'm afraid I wasn't able to catch her name my husband, and his team brought her in. she standing maybe five feet, long blonde hair..."

I was trying to give her my best description but with her face expressions it wasn't working.

" well uh it seems here that we had a lady by the name of Betty civil, who was admitted around eleven late last night"

She then turn her screen and I knew for sure this was the women I saw last night at Melissa housewarming.

" this is her, do you Happen to know what room she's in?"

" I'm sorry are you a family member..or what?" She ask before giving me a look.

Thinking of something I noticed a doctor that could possibly save me from this situation.

" oh Grace wow I wasn't expecting to see you here"

" doctor Lee, I was just talking about you , and I was wondering about one of your patients Betty civil"

I looked over at the receptionist, who mouth drop and her hand was raise before I slip my arms into his and walked away.

" thank you so much for the help I appreciate it" I said.

"No problem grace, but mrs civil has been a little shaky.The police are still out on the hunt to find her husband." He sigh " that poor lady been through a lot Already"

" right" I agreed " well thanks again I should have a talk with her"

Cutting our conversation short I twist the doorknob and walked into her room as she was sitting up in bed watching tv.

" oh hello dear have you found my husband yet"

She not once looked over my way as she continued to flips through the channels.

" well not yet but we are looking. I wanted to know how was your relationship with your husband?"

As I lean over to pull up a seat I felt a gust of wind float pass me and towards Betty.

I waited for a moment before pulling the chair over and I noticed that we wasn't alone.

" there you are" I whisper getting Betty attention.

" who dear?"

" no one" I said while dropping my head then back up.

" gosh how I miss that man and his sweet voice" Betty smiled  while lifted her shoulders up, and back down.

" I know you wish he was here with you don't you"

" yeah actually I do. It's not the same without him please go find my husband. He was a loving and sweet men" she lifted her hand to pat her damp eyes before turning back to the tv.

" she lying... she hated me" his voice scream out causing me to cover my ears.

" are you okay darling maybe I had the tv up to loud"

I kept my ears covered before walking over to the other end of her bed to see the same guy soaked with water staring at Betty.

He started to position his hands around her neck as if he wanted to choke her but something was pulling him back.

" she lying.... She wanted me dead"

" what's your name?" I asked quickly but his spirit departed again.

" I thought you knew my name honey.. I'm Betty" she told me.

" I should go see if they have any leads with your husband. I can assure you that I'll be back"

She waved me goodbye before ringing a bell for a nurse.

"I'm sure you will dear, have a nice day"

I grab my purse as a nurse came inside and I knew it was my time to leave.

Walking back into the elevator I was greeted by the man again this time he was angry.

" she doesn't love me, she never did how can you not see that" he ranted at me.

I knew we wasn't alone In the elevator so i was trying my best to look normal.

" I know you hear me. My wife knows what really happen on that bridge. SHE KNOWS!" the screeching of his voice cause me to cover my ears as the lights started to flicker.

Everyone began to panic as we all was holding on to each other.

I knew he was angry as I could see it all over his face.

" stop this... you stop it right now" i said at him and a couple of people looked over at me.

" ma'am, no one is over there" a guy inform.

The flickering soon stop as the elevator came to a halt and everyone quickly exited out.

Catching my breath, I walked out to a bunch of fireman's and Paramedics coming through with someone on the stretcher.

With so many people crowding the hallway, It was hard for me to fight through them.

"Excuse me, hey what's going on?" I question while standing beside a nurse.

" they found the men. The one who's been on the news from that accident at the bridge they found his body"

You could hear so many applause and nurses cheering the rescuers on for their performance.

I smiled as I seen Andrew walked behind them with the man's clothes and other items in a bag.

Grabbing his arm he jump before looking down and stopping.

I kissed his lips while embracing him into a hug.

" thanks, you guys found him. where was he?"

By the look on my husband face I could tell they been in water all day from how dirty his hair was and the wetness of his jacket.

"'It wasn't good Grace. the car was bad, and it was hard trying to get him out. He was on the east side of the water which was forty miles from where the accident on bridge happen."

" okay how bad was his injuries?"

" he suffer from a stabbed wound to his chest barely missing his heart, he's barely alive but I don't know if he will make it, he lost to much blood and been in that water for too long"

Trying to process all this information i just received I turn back on my heels and headed back toward the elevator.

" babe where you going?"Andrew question

" I have a to talk to someone"

" who?"

" his wife" the elevator doors soon closed as I wasn't expecting this kind of shocking news.

Walking back down the hallway and towards Betty room I open her door to see the women fully dressed and packing her purse.

" we need to talk" I said before closing the door behind me.

" oh you're back" she never looked up " the doctors said that I'm okay and I can leave"

I folded my arms as she walked and I had the door blocked.

She squinted her eyes while brushing her hair off her shoulders.

" I believe your in my way"

" I believe you had more to do with what happen to your husband then your telling me, and if I was I'll talk"

She took a moment before setting her purse back down.

" I can assure that I had nothing to do with anything  hell I barely escape with my life"

" well you had  a good enough chance to leave that car while walking away with a couple of bruises, why didn't your husband had the same chance?"

A moment flutter away before I could tell she was getting a bit nervous.

" I need to leave im free to..."

" they found your husband" I cut her off.

Her eyes darted at me now giving me her full attention as she pulled her hands and place them
To her chest.

" what did you just say to me"

" your husband what's his name"

" David.. and how long do you know that's him and not some impostor" she argued

I shook my head as this women was really unbelievable.

" Betty I'm positive that your husband is on the first floor fighting for his life it's up to you to be there and support him"

She took a minute before flopping down on the chair next to me.

" gosh It wasn't suppose to have ended like this" she utter.

" end like what?"

" we was on our way to the met hall my stepdaughter was hosting, and we got in this big fight because of my spending habits"

" you like money, that's not a bad thing"

" well it is when you barely had it. I was obsessed with having nice things, fancy living, my taste was so rich but David hated that"

I felt his presence before us as he sat on the bed to listen.

" he loved the cheat route, the saving money and he was always  nagging  about the bills or the money I put into my outfits just irritating at times." She chuckled.

" Grace tell her that I didn't know I was bugging her like that. I always wanted my little pumpkin spice to feel like I cared"

" Betty....your husband is with us and has a message"

I waited for her to look at me like i was crazy...and she did.

" please lady you can't phase me by trying to convince me that David is here. In fact his on the first floor right" she said with her brow raised.

"He is, and he wanted me to tell you that he didn't that he was bugging you so badly, And that he wanted his little pumpkin spice to feel cared about"

Her gasp shook the room as she knew that I wasn't lying to her.

" oh David why did you had to drive me so crazy, why couldn't you just let me live and spend money that makes me happy"

" wait betty money will not bring you happiness" i told her.

I watch as David chuckled before rubbing his head.

" tell betty money won't  bring her happiness.. it never did after the lost of our son she change and she hated me, she blame me for His death an she's been using my Money as a way to get even"

" Betty, he said that it's wasn't the money that turn you this way.. he did you hates his guts after your son was killed"

" really David, I absolutely did not"

" ask her why she stab me, and what really happen on that bridge"

" what's he saying some more lies" she blurted with her arms folded.

" no. He wants to know why you stab him and what happen on that bridge?"

She exhale deeply before adjusting in her seat.

" David we was doing our annual arguing again over the bills, over how much I was spending on myself, on our new home I purchased, and I wash growing tired of it. With our son getting killed I was mad at you, I hated you, I wanted you out my Life because..." she started to cry " because when I looked at you I seen our sweet little boy and you broke my heart"

" what happen next Betty"

" we was coming up on the bridge and he told me that he wanted a divorce our love was  dying for one another and but I couldn't just let him go.. I would have been broke so I was greedy I needed that money that's what kept me sane.

I was upset that she pick money over her husband.

"I told him he needed to stay with me and we could work together and he wasn't having it, so not giving it a second thought I pulled the car over took out a knife and I stab him. After I watch him bleed out I panic and I just hit the gas and before I knew I was heading straight for the bridge railings and I knew I couldn't stop."

She let out a few cries before continuing.

"As I drove the car straight towards the bridge i knew that I wasn't ready to go yet so I jumped out and the car hit that railing and that was it.. that was last I saw of it"

" Grace tell her that I'm sorry for not being there during her grieving of our son, that I'm sorry that she couldn't see the good man that I was regardless of how much I nagged her I always loved her.

" Betty he wants you to know that he is sorry for nagging you, his sorry that you couldn't see the good in him, and he loved you.

" how could you love someone when our love was dying out David."

" tell her that i want her to go down on that floor and take a good look at me, at what she's done to me"

" Betty, David want you to go take a look at him he wants you to see what you did"

" I.. I can't do that those police man will arrest me on the stop"

" I promise I will allow them for you to make your peace as you will never see your husband again right now David deserve peace"

It took her a moment but she nodded her head.

" okay....okay"

I waited for her to rise to her feet before we walked towards the elevator.

The ride downed was very emotional for us both but I could see the sadness all over David face.

As we approach his room there was still officers around waiting to arrest Betty.

" officer I'm here to say my goodbyes to my husband"

They nodded as we enter the room.

Before I could ask anything Betty drop to her knees before lifted her hands and was asking for forgiveness.

" tell her that I forgive her and I wish she would have seen sooner how much I loved her"

" I will"

He smiled before reaching his arms out as he join the light and I knew my eyes was flooding.

" he crossover and wanted you to know that he always loved you"

The officer then walked In before cuffing Betty and she was torn as she watch the nurses cover her husband body and face forever.
