"Seriously Anthony?" I groaned. "You had to drive them off. They were going to pay a lot of money!"
"Well, I didn't trust them after watching them hunt an innocent animal and kill it for fun." He replied, trying to lean on a piece of furniture, going through it, as he was a ghost.
"Why do you even know that?"
"Because.... Reasons." This was normal for me to talk to a ghost. Ever since I was young, something drew me to this place. When I was 17 I finally took a look at this place. Turns out this place was haunted by a ghost who was way too young to die of age. He was shy at first, but eventually warmed up to me. After some digging around in the newspaper and thanks to Anthony, I was able to piece together the whole story. The whole story was that he lost his parents when he was four and later was sexually assaulted by the same dude and murdered by him. He decided to take shelter here since nobody lived here. The second I put all of the pieces together and showed it to the police, I was hailed a hero for solving a 15 year old cold case. It made me and my sister millionaires, but I decided to take a real job just in case the money is stolen and or were out. It was nice to see Anthony at rest for awhile but he still seemed off. It felt like he wasn't at peace with something.
"You ok?" I asked him.
"Not really. This place is my only home and I'm afraid someone will take that away from me." He replied shyly.
"You could always live with me." I replied and gave a small chuckle.
"I don't want to freak your sister out. "
"If she knew the whole story she'd let you. "
" But still... I've grown attached to this place. "
"Am I not the one wearing the pants here? At least stay at my place for one night to see what it's like!"
"Dude, technically I'm older than you. If I was 11 when I was murdered, and it's been 15 years since, I'd be at least 26."
"Might wanna check your math, I was 5 or 6 when the case was first made."
"Dammit. I wanted to feel like the older one for once. " Anthony made a pouty face that I'd only see on my sister, but for some reason it was adorable on him.
"Look, I'm coming back later, I've got to sell a couple more houses so decide what you want to do by then, ok?" He nodded and then ran off somewhere. I left the house and quietly closed the door in order not to scare Anthony. Calming him down is like calming a toddler. In all honesty, he acts like a child more than a spoopy ghost. Maybe that's just his charm I guess.
