Two best friends.

One girl, Soko, the more introverted one.

The other, A-ko, the extroverted one.

A curse of a school girl who had committed suicide.

A-ko, a beautiful girl with short dark hair, was a high school student at a certain school in Japan. She had a best friend whose name was Soko, a girl whose long dark hair hung in her eyes and always had dead look in her eyes as well.

These two girls happened to be seated next to each other, and both of them got along well together, much to their (and other's) surprise.

To be more precise, they did everything together.

But then, one day, a particular interesting ghost story began making the rounds at their school.

It was a story about a girl, a girl younger than they, named Yamiko.

A girl with two wide uneven bulging eyes underneath her stringy hair. Her face was something out of a horror movie.

Years and years before, Yamiko had been a victim of bullying. It had become so violent, that the girl had finally taken her own life by hanging herself from the rafters.

And the one who drove young Yamiko to such a devastating step was none other but her best friend.

As a result of that action, Yamiko had taken to possessing people who had somehow, on way or another, been betrayed by their best friend.

It didn't matter what kind of betrayal, neither small nor big.

It was A L L  T H E  S A M E.

Anyway, A-ko and Soko, who were such big friends, had begun feeling the strain of friendship--as all people must eventually. In other words (and not everyone has this problem), these two girls had a falling out over a romantic entanglement.

And A-ko, who was extroverted, had many more friends than the introverted Soko. A-ko then began to harass Soko.

Day by day, the harassment elevated....and eventually, Soko went to the unused building that she had been using as a hiding place from her used-to-be-best friend, and killed herself by hanging.

At first, A-ko regretted what she had done, but over time, she forgot entirely. School was back to normal.

But then, one day...

A-ko dropped her black shcool bag and stumbled back a step. "What the heck...?" She muttered, staring with horror at the scraggly writing etched on her desk.

It read: I T ' S  Y O U R   F A U L T.

She initially dismissed it as a prank, and soon forgot about it.

But that may have been our heroine's mistake.

As things grew worse and worse, she realized that she had fallen under poor Yamiko-san's curse.
