Chapter 12

Scarlett felt a warmth on her eyes. Slowly she opened them to reveal her room. Her head was all fuzzy and she couldn't remember what had happened the night before. Groaning, she held her hand to her eyes to block the sunlight coming through her window. Whatever happened last night, she swore to god it would never happen again. Sitting up she looked around her suite. Everything looked to be in its place. Then she felt the blankets move and the cause was not her, turning her head she saw a shirtless Munder sit up and stretch.

"What in gods name did my cousin convince us to do?" Scarlett asked as Munder looked at her just as surprised.

"I don't remember, its all like a giant blur." Munder sighs as he stands up and starts to put his shirt on.

Just then Susan opened the door and was shocked to see Munder putting on his shirt and Scarlett sitting up in her bed. Instead of making fun of her cousin or making them feel uncomfortable, Susan just smiled and left the room. Deep down, Scarlett knew she would never hear the end of this.

"She's gonna tell everyone...isn't she?" Munder asked as he looked to Scarlett who only nodded in reply. "Well, I wont deny it. See you on deck sug."

Munder chuckled as he tied his long brown hair back and walked out of the room. Well, this day should be interesting. Scarlett got up and got ready to go on a run on the deck. She wanted to try and clear her head but no matter how hard she tried she could only remember her first day on the boat. She kept herself busy and tried to focus but her watch was messing up and the moment she looked down, she just happened to run into someone and they knocked her on her butt.

"Uhh." Scarlett yelped as she looked up at the person.

She looked up and saw someone she could have sworn she had met before. He was blonde and well toned, at least from what she could see. He was completely shocked. He immediately offered his hand to her. She smiled as she took it.

"I am so sorry, I must have been really out of the zone." he said as he helped her up.

"No, I was looking down at my watch and wasn't watching where I was gone." Scarlett replied as she tucked a hair behind her ear.

"Well either way, what a way to meet someone. I'm Charles but everyone calls me Charlie." He smiled as he offered his hand for a handshake.

"Scarlett, it's nice to meet you Charlie but for some reason I get the strangest feeling we've met before." She said as she turned her head slightly to the side.

"Same, but I am pretty sure I would remember meeting someone like you. You want to grab a drink real fast? I have to pick up my kids from his activity in an hour." Charlie asked as he smiled.

Scarlett nodded in agreement and followed Charles. He gave her a comforting feeling with his presence. She wasn't even thinking about Jack or Dodge not even Munder. Jack however was watching her and his memories were in tact. Dodge and Munder's however were not, yes they were still saved but they still thought they were working for him. With envy, Jack watched as Scarlett walked with Charles.

"What's with the look?" Dodge asked confused.

"That man, that Charles, he likes Scarlett." Jack replied through gritted teeth.

"So? Didn't you say the more distracted she was the better?" Munder spoke up.

"Doesn't matter, we have work to do. Make sure the staff knows about the ballroom dinner being served as a final meal." Jack said as he turned and walked off.

"I don't feel right doing this man, this isn't right at all." Munder said as he looked down to where the mark would be on his arm only to find it gone. "Wait a sec, it's gone. Jack's creepy thing on my arm is gone."

Dodge ran to Munder and looked to see what he was saying was true. The mark was gone, Dodge looked to where his was and found it too was gone. They were both shocked and confused, how did this happen?

Scarlett was having a great time getting to know Charles and he even introduced her to his son, Alex. The boy was adventurous just like any child should be, it made Scarlett question what her future child would be like. They had been walking around the ship for most of the day when Scarlett saw something odd out of the corner of her eye. Victoria and Jack were in a deep conversation and it made Scarlett rattle to her core.

"Something wrong?" Charles asked Scarlett seeing the look on her face.

"I am just feeling a bit tired, I think I'm gonna rest. I'll call your room before dinner, is that alright?" Scarlett asked as she turned to Charles and smiled.

"Yeah, I think Alex wants to play the new game he brought on the ship." Charles smiled as he took Scarlett's hand, placed a light and gentle kiss upon it before he and Alex kept walking down the hall.

Scarlett made her way over to Jack and Victoria as though she had something important to say. Though the words were not coming to her mind at that very moment, she felt like they were up to something beyond evil. Jack turned and looked at Scarlett and put on the fakest smile she'd ever seen.

"Can I help you Miss Scarlett?" Jack questioned trying to act calm.

Scarlett looked from Victoria to Jack and shook her head. They were evil and she didn't want anything to do with them. She was about to turn when a weird force came out of her and knocked Victoria off the side of the boat. She didn't panic like a person normally would but instead looked to Jack.

"How many times must you kill me?" she asked though she knew the words were not her own.

"You don't understand, you will never understand." Jack said as he went to move past her.

"Kill Victoria or I will end you and she will end this vessel's life." Scarlett said as if she were in a trance.

Jack froze, the angel still knew everything. The memories that were wiped was only that of the mortals as well as Dodge and Munder. Turning back, he saw those bright blue eyes of the angels glaring daggers at him. He took a deep breath as he held up his hands.

"I'm trying, it may not seem like it but she's new. She had more power than me until the full moon or I collect more souls. You pick which time you want to happen." Jack replied to a now back to normal Scarlett.

"Beg pardon? Jack are you ok? You were talking about a full moon and souls, you watch a bad movie or something?" Scarlett asked, clearly the angel long gone.

"Yeah, it was just a bad movie miss Scarlett, forgive me I have things to go. Have a nice day." Jack said as he gently walked past her.
