chapter 2. Jealousy, Jealousy!
CHAPTER 2...part 1
(Savages — Marina)
994 AD︱the new world (winter solstice)
ELIJAH Mikaelson never thought he could love someone as much as he loved Astrid and yet here he was, looking into the soft grey eyes of his child with pure adoration. She was tiny, a mere 6 pounds at most, small tufts of brown hair already peeking from her scalp.
Noises of happiness emitted from the baby's small mouth as Elijah rocked her. Astrid, exhausted after the tireless hours spent giving birth, looked at the pair in awe. She had always longed to one day bare children and, here she was, past experiencing the excruciating pain of labor, feeling nothing but pure joy and happiness as her husband cradles their daughter with such love and affection.
"She is beautiful my love." He spoke, after a couple moments of silence. Elijah looked into their daughter's eyes and, though she inherited stormy grey irises, her eyes held the same silvery glow as her mother. The wee lass was absolute perfection, her slightly chubbed cheeks were pigmented by the same roses that grew once a year, her little nose scrunched slightly when she yawned, her coo's so soft that even the closest person could barely detect it.
"You speak as though she looks nothing like you Elijah." Astrid laughed, though it came out more breathy as she slumped in exhaustion. "It may as well have been that way." He said, running his calloused hand along her small head, careful not to press too hard. "What shall we name her?" He continued, removing his gaze from the sleeping infant to his tired wife.
She sat in thought for a moment before saying. "Kara. Kara Elijahson." Before she fell asleep, exhaustion overtaking her. Elijah smiled at this, running his thumb across Kara's pink cheeks he said, "I swear I will do right by you little one."

Kara Elijahson had yet to know it, but she had the Mikaelson family wrapped around her small finger at only a few months of age. What she did know, however, is that she likes the small wooden horses her Uncle Nik gives her to play with, and the fun games Aunt Bekah plays with her, she even likes when her Uncle Finn takes her to the small river connecting to the ocean.
Her Uncle Kol was her favorite though, he always seemed confused when in the small human's presence, but he seemed to get the hang of it after showing the little girl some magic by blowing the falling leaves around her. And Henrick? Well, he has yet to understand why the 'small person' was being fussed over.
Little Kara was definitely her father's daughter. Whenever her eyes found Elijah, it didn't matter who she was with, Kara would start to babble happily as she lifted her arms, grabbing the air to tell him to pick her up.

999 AD︱the new world (summer solstice)
Kara Elijahson loved to pick the flowers in the forest. The pretty blues and whites bundled together in the 6-year-old's hands as she created a bouquet for her mother. The small brunette would spend many hours out in the woods, seeing as her uncles wouldn't let her play with them, her mother was usually doing housework, and her father was usually working to become a Viking.
She knew her father didn't want to be a Viking, yes, the thrill of the sword accelerated his heartbeat every time he struck down any foe but, she always saw her Papa's eyes how tired and fatigued he was. The exhaustion in his face was seemingly always present, but he could not keep the smile off of his face whenever his lovely wife and daughter made an appearance.
As the years grew and Elijah's small family became happier, Tatia's jealousy grew as well. She deserved to have children with Elijah, no, she deserved Elijah. He had yet to understand that they were meant for one another, they were perfect for each other. Tatia needed to get Astrid out of the picture, with the blonde wench gone she could marry him and they would have their own family. She would finally be happy, even if she would have to mother his wretched child.
So, she set her plan in motion. Wait for everyone except Astrid to leave the Mikaelson Hut, before slitting the woman's throat. Then, she will scream minutes later, feigning that she found the body, comfort Elijah, and let the rest take course. Her plan seemed perfect, but Tatia didn't take into account that Kara would arrive home earlier than expected.

After picking a lovely bouquet of small flowers, she skips to her home to show off the flowers to her pregnant mother. Astrid loved the flowers her daughter picked, always seeming to brighten up when Kara would present small bouquets of blues and whites. She ran to her house as different villagers waved their greetings to Kara, she giggled hello's and waved her free hand when she finally reached the front door of her family's hut.
She pushed open the door. "Mummy look what I'v- '' Her eyes widened tenfold when she saw the scene in front of her. Astrid's throat was covered in a sticky red substance, a deep cut across her neck, and seemed to be choking out words. Kara ran to her mother immediately, discarding the bouquet on the floor as she leaned her ear down to her mother's quivering lips. "I-It w-wa-as Tat-tia." Her breathing was labored and slowing and Kara just didn't know what to do. So, she did the only thing that felt right at that moment, she screamed.
Luckily enough, her Aunt Bekah was nearby when she heard the young girls scream, when she entered her brother's home she gasped at the sight in front of her. Kara was holding her mother's head in her arms, rocking her as she cried for her mother to wake. Her dress was soaking up the plethora of blood on the ground.
Rebekah ran up to the small child and held her, knowing Kara was far too shaken to recount the events, as fallen flowers take on a new crimson color.

Elijah was tired, he had spent his entire day training for his Viking ship, and all he wanted was to see his daughter and love. Before he could walk into his home, he was shocked to see his sister exiting the hut with puffed cheeks and tear-ridden eyes.
"Sister? What were you doing in there?" There was no conviction in his voice, only confusion, and concern. Rebekah stifled a sob before recounting what Kara had told her. Tear's stung his eyes as he shook his head in denial. She couldn't be dead, could she?
Elijah had never run so fast, desperate to get to his wife, to his daughter. He didn't want to believe that Astrid was dead, he wanted it all to be some kind of joke, some cruel, cruel joke. But, when he walked his hut, walked in to see his wife's body covered in a soft linen cloth, and saw his daughter crying hysterically on the floor, he knew it was true.
KOREY SPEAKS !
Fuck the dopplebitch and her original face too (except for my wife Katherine)
