The General's House (3)

"Wait!  Hongmo!"  Asano shouted as Hongmo turned around to leave them.  "DU HONGMO!"

Hongmo whipped around and stared at Asano as she raised her eyebrow to challenge him.  How dare he call out her full name!

"Two favors!"  Asano shouted.  "An extra favor for the insult you received."

"And an apology!"  Hugh said through gritted teeth.  "An extra favor from me and an apology from me and my wife for the disrespect."

Hongmo's angry heart wanted to crush them and their hope to cure their son, but the Goryo spoke on their behalf.

"Accept it!"  The Goryo said cutting through her angry.  "Two for the price of one!  You can cure his son.  They'll be forever grateful and be in your debt until the favor is completed.  You'll be Henry's savior and your legendary skills will grow with your reputation! Do it!  Favors are better than money!  Two favors are better than none!"

Hongmo swallowed her anger along with her menacing qi aura.  Those on their knees fell on their hands, catching their bodies, as Asano and Sano hand to sit down so they wouldn't fall down.

"Do not play me for a fool, Lady Margret.  I am not some opportunistic, materialistic young girl with dreams of becoming your daughter-in-law."  Hongmo said as she walked towards Lady Margret and stopped in front of her.  She knelt down and lifted up Margret's chin to stare into her eyes so Margret would know just how serious she is.  "When the time comes for you and your family to pay me back for saving your son.  You will pay me back in full and obediently do as I ask. And because of you, one favor became two.  You'll forever regret this day that you acted so foolishly against me.  That I promise."

Margret shivered in fear as she watched the darkness come over the young woman in front of her.  The deep darkness that couldn't be touched by anyone.  The place where no one wants to even think about, she saw through the young woman's eyes changed from navy blue to black.  She believed in every word Hongmo said and made her regret acting so foolishly.  The demise of the the General's family would be on her shoulders. She would be the reason of the rise and fall of the family.  From now on, she would need to tread carefully.

"F-forgive me, f-for m-my f-foolishness."  Margret whispered softly.  "I-I'm a mother, w-worried for her s-son.  I t-trust you to c-cure him and in r-return, t-two favors from General Hugh Silla will b-be given and p-paid in f-full when t-the time c-comes to c-collect."

"And collect I will!  I never forget favors owed to me."  Hongmo said as she flicked Margret's face away from her as she stood up.  "When the ingredients are handed over, I need to use your kitchen to make the cure."

Hongmo made her way to Henry and felt his forehead to take his temperature.  "His fever has gone done.  When I make the cure, no one is to disturb me, not even Doctor Gu, not even Master Teacher Sano and NOT even Prince Asano is to disrupt the medicine making process.  Should one anyone disturb me, our agreement will fall through and your son will die in a week.  And this time, I will not give you another chance.  The only reason why I stayed, is because Prince Asano asked."

But truthfully the Goryo convinced her to give them a second chance, however she wasn't going to reveal that.

Everyone agreed to her demands and when the medicinal ingredients were delivered, Hongmo was brought to the small kitchen beside Henry's residence.   The door closed after her as she began making preparations to make the cure for the poison.  What they didn't know was that on her body was a sprig of the Blue Hells bush and to make the cure, she needed the cause of the poison to make the cure.

As she made the cure in the kitchen, the rest of the people sat around Henry's room to discuss what just happened. There are very few people who has such a strong and domineering qi aura and be able to suppress others with it.  She hid her qi aura well, making her seem weak.  But she was not weak at all.  She was far from weak and she unleashed her strength on to them in her fit of anger.

"We need to win her trust."  Sano said to them.  "If we get her on our side, Prince Asano's rise to the throne would be smoother."

"I agree."  General Henry said as he held onto his wife's hand.  He knew she was mad because the young woman embarrassed her and didn't leave any room to give her any face.  Hongmo had put everyone in their place and made sure everyone knew how important and valuable she is.  Reminding everyone that they needed her, not the other way around.

"She does not trust easily."  Asano tells them.  "It's going to take some time, but I think I will be able to do it.  Just as long as no one makes more trouble for me than they already have."

Sano, Doctor Gu, Henry and Margret looked away.  The four of them have already caused trouble for Prince Asano.

The five of them chatted until the sun fell and then Hongmo emerged from the kitchen with three pills, an elixir and an ointment. The try that carried the cure was a three step process which she explained carefully to the group.

"These three pills are to be taken once a day to clean and expel the poison from his body.  The elixir will be added to his food and drink  to cleanse his organs.  You only need a couple of drops into his food or drink for it to be effective.  Once it's all gone, your son should be healed completely. The ointment is to be rubbed on his stomach, in a circle, where his qi core is.  The ointment will cleanse his core to ensure all impurities will be gone while fixing his qi core at the same time."  Hongmo tells them.  "Let us start the treatment tonight. The second pill and third pill will be given before dinner."

Hongmo pushed the pill inside Henry's mouth and as the pill touched his tongue, the pill melted and a cooling sensation followed through him.  His body shivered as the pill activated.  Henery's eyes opened in alertness as he stared at Hongmo.  His heart beat faster at being so close to the angel and his savior. Hongmo poured a small cup of tea and put in two drops of the elixir inside and fed it to him.  Henry opened his mouth and drank the warm tea, as the warmth spread through him.  The blanket was then pulled down and his shirt unbuttoned as Hongmo taught Margret how to rub in the the ointment.

She gave Margret the ointment to rub the medicine on her son for practice, while giving her instructions.

"When rubbing in the ointment, you only need a small portion.  The size of your finger is fine.  When you rub the ointment on his stomach, remember to rub in one direction to circulate and cleanse his qi.  You will see a black sticky substance come through his pores like so."  Hongmo pointed out on Henry's skin as the black sticky poison seeped out.  "Just wipe it down with a damp cloth until it stops then take him for a bath.  Change all the bed linen and make sure he wears a fresh set of clothes.  In three days time, as long as you follow my orders, your son will heal from the poison and be free from death's door.  Feed him only soup and rice porridge for the time being, until he can handle eating more solid food.  I will stop in tomorrow and the day after that to ensure his successful recovery.  Afterwards, should you need my services, it'll cost you a favor."

Hongmo stood up and without even talking to Prince Asano, Master Teacher Sano or Doctor Gu, she took her leave and no one stopped her, no one could stop her even if they wanted to.
