Parley
"Whoever is claiming to be the Ghost is not the Ghost." Mace said to the group of men who sat around the table. They have agreed to meet on neutral ground at the Central Badger Inn. They have sat outside in the gazebo enjoying the summer breeze. The moon and the lit lamps shined brightly into the dark night. Mace has brought 20 men with him to the parley for protection, but just in case a fight broke out.
The men of the Thunder Condor Squad were all elders of the assassin organization and have come to the parley to find out if it was really the Ghost who killed one of their own. They didn't want to start a war if they didn't have to, but they couldn't let The Whip's murderer go.
"I talked to Ghost and Ghost said that it wasn't Ghost." Mace told them.
"Then who is this man claiming to be the Ghost?" Elder Chen asked as he stared at Mace. He didn't believe it one bit that it wasn't Ghost who killed The Whip.
"I don't know. but you can kill the man who claims to be Ghost. The real Ghost didn't do it. The man claiming to be Ghost is just a nobody who wants the glory and reputation of Ghost. He's just trying to cause a problem between the Thunder Condor Squad and Blood Moon." Mace told them.
"So where is Ghost if the man isn't Ghost?" Elder Chen asked.
"Why are you so curious about Ghost? Why do you want me to bring out Ghost when I told you the man claiming to be Ghost is not Ghost. If he is claiming to be responsible for killing The Whip, then find the man and kill him. Ghost had nothing to do with this."
Elder Chen turned to his side to talk to the rest of the Elders in hushed whispers. They spoke until a while before Elder Chen spoke again.
"We cannot believe your words, Mace, unless we see and speak with Ghost himself. With the evidence of seeing the man claiming to be Ghost and Ghost himself in one room, we would then believe your words." Elder Chen said.
Mace sat still, holding his anger in. He had already talked to Hongmo and he had told Hongmo to stay at home, that he would take care of the parley, that she didn't have to worry about anything. He and his men were able to catch the man who claimed to be the Ghost and he thought that as long as he gave the man over to the elders of the Thunder Condor, they would let it go and the parley would end. Now they were making it difficult for him and his people, he couldn't hold his anger in any longer.
Mace signaled for the captured fake Ghost to be brought forward. His men brought the tied up man forward and let the elders see the man. He was a well built man of average height. His light brown hair and eyes were average. There was nothing striking about the man, but he seemed strong enough to be the Ghost. He was tied up with rope and was held between two guards.
"This man claims to be Ghost." Mace said. "But some things you all should know about Ghost is that Ghost can not be seen, cannot be killed, cannot be captured, cannot be poisoned. This man who claims to be Ghost, doesn't know the first rules to being Ghost. He doesn't know just how scary Ghost is."
The Elders shifted nervously in their seats. They stared at one another and hid their fear. Some of them not believing the scary reputation of the Ghost. And from the flower garden that surrounded the gazebo and the standing guards that both of the organization brought, they first saw the light fog move in and with the fog a menacing qi that crept up their spine, making them shiver. Their hearts beat wildly as they kept looking around themselves for the person who joined them.
"This is a parley Mace! Are you trying to kill us?" Elder Chen shouted angrily. He would rather feel anger than scared.
"You said you wanted to meet the infamous Ghost didn't you?" Mace told them. He just hoped it was Hongmo and not some unknown enemy who had come to kill them. Whatever she did to create such an effect on everyone, he wasn't going to let the opportunity go. "I told you that you'll find out just how scary Ghost is."
The fog crept in, the lights on the lamps died out, it made its way towards the gazebo, all the guards stood ready to strike anyone, as the qi grew stronger and stronger. The qi pressure pressed down on them, making them submit to it. All of them held on to their own qi, making it into a shield around themselves to stop the foreign qi from penetrating their body and their minds. Those that were still on the second martial tier fell to their knees in pain. It didn't matter if they were part of the Blood Moon Organization or the Thunder Condor Squad. They were all victims of Ghost's anger.
"You all believed this weak man could ever be Ghost?" A scratchy voice from the darkness called out to everyone. The voice brought fear to the men and women there as they searched for the cause of the voice. But with just the moonlight as their only source of light and the fog surrounding them, they could only see the silhouette of the guards and shadows of the night .
"P-please! F-forgive me!" Hal cried. "I-I-I d-didn't m-mean to o-offend y-you."
"And yet you did." Ghost said from the shadows. "You dare claim my name? You dare claim my kills? You dare blacken my reputation? You dare claim to be apart of the Blood Moon Organization and dirty their name with your existence? As if they would ever let you into the Blood Moon. And yet, you dare. Dare to be the Ghost. Dare to claim the souls of those I killed. Dare to use my reputation to make yourself stronger? More fearsome? More lethal? Tell me what you dare."
