[☹︎] Three

The class stared at the two. No one's ever seen this side of Remus; dark and threatening. Willing to harm someone over something so small.

"I don't see your name on it," the student smirked. Remus laughed, dark and bitter. It honestly terrified the kid.

"Actually, that's where you're wrong. The seat quiet literally has my name carved onto it. Why? Because no one, and I mean no one, sits in my seat." Remus smiled oh so innocently but there was that dark aura around him that made everyone uncomfortable. "Look, kid, I'm already having such a swell day right now. Don't make it worse unless you want to end up on my bad side."

"Remus, you're going a bit far," Roman murmured, hugging his brother from behind. Remus tensed up, but didn't move away so Roman felt that was an improvement. Remus hated being hugged from behind.

The student in Remus' seat grabbed their stuff and moved away, sliding awkwardly around Remus to find a new seat. Remus gave him one last look before sitting on what was rightfully his. Logan shot him a concerned look, giving a small squeeze on Remus' knee. Remus shook his head in return as he used his arms as pillows.

The class droned on. No one bothered Remus, and the teacher didn't dare to make Remus take notes. Logan took notes for him, and gave him comforting squeezes on the knee between writing things down. Despite looking fine, Remus was having a full on breakdown.

Roman sighed softly as he watched his brother. This day just couldn't get any worse could it? He stood next to Remus and hummed a lullaby as he rubbed Remus' back. He watched as his brother's stuff muscles started to ever so slowly relax and the shaking lessened quite a bit.

"Its okay 'Mus, I'm here.." Roman murmured as he hugged Remus, making sure Remus could see his arms as they wrap around the older. It seemed to have helped because Remus didn't flinch away like he would have if he hadn't seen Roman's transparent arms.

The bell rang and Remus waited for Logan to pack up, wiping his tear stained face with the sleeve of his sweater. He just wanted to go home and sleep. Maybe if he slept long enough he'd be able to be with Roman again. Logan gently squeezed his shoulder, taking him out of his dark thought process.

"Re, time to head to our next period.." Logan murmured softly. Remus nodded a little and stood up, letting Logan guide him after grabbing his bag. They went down the hall to Remus' next class — economics — and stood outside the door. "Do you think you'll be okay on your own for the next hour..? I'm sure Virgil could-"

"I'll be fine!" Remus unintentionally snapped. He covered his mouth and apologized quietly. "I-Ill be okay Logan, but thanks for caring about me.."

Logan gently pulled him into a hug, rubbing the olders back gently. "No need to thank me, Re.. May I ask what happened between you and Virgil..?"

Remus shook his head, not wanting to talk about it. He stepped back, already feeling the tears trying to make their escape once more. Logan gave gently grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze, earning a weak one back from Remus. "Y-you should get to class, Lo, or else you'll be late.."

"Text me, okay? I don't care if the teachers catch us. You're having a bad day and I intend to be there for you even if it takes sneaking around," Logan murmured, reaching up to gently caressed Remus' cheek. Remus leaned into the touch, nodding softly in response. Then the two parted ways and went to their separate classes.

[☹︎]

Remus barely paid attention in his class. He had an A in this class, just like all his other classes. Contrary to popular belief, he does do his work on occasion and has always gone above and beyond. He sat in a window seat by himself, looking but not seeing the world outside as he listened to his teacher blab on about taxes.

"Re, aren't you gonna take notes?" Roman asked softly as he spun Remus' phone on the table. Remus shrugged a little, everything starting to sound like white noise to him.

"I'll do it later tonight after work.." Remus replied quietly, automatically. His voice came out in a monotone way, as if he couldn't get himself to care. "Do you suppose father would come get me early..?"

"I very highly doubt it. He might've before I..- before the accident but even I have to admit that he's a prick now. Seriously, who drinks three cans of budlight in the morning?!" Roman ranted a little, causing a chuckle to escape Remus. Then they fell back into radio silence. "Its been two years, Remus.. As much as I hate to admit it, you need to move on. I'm not saying you need to forget me, but you're not letting yourself heal.."

Remus sighed in annoyance. He hated when Roman spoke like that. He hated that sad tone that held so many emotions. "Shut up," he growled softly, not wanting another breakdown to happen. "Just shut up.."

"Remus.." Roman sighed and shook his head. It was useless to argue when Remus was in this state of mind. Without another word, he disappeared once more.

The class dragged on, and Remus only felt worse not having his brother by his side. Maybe Roman was. Maybe he did need to move on.

As if that would happen.
