"So he booked us a gig at your house?" Violet raises her eyebrows at Julie, who is leaned against the locker next to Violets. "Yea." Julie answered. "At least we have a new gig," Violet says, "I'll see you in class, I gotta go to my locker real quick." Julie nods. Violet sighs and shuts her locker. She jumps when there is a boy behind it. 

Luke.

"aah. Normal people don't do that and ghosts definitely shouldn't. What are you doing here?" Violet asks. "I was thinking about what song we're playing tonight. I was thinking Great." Luke suggested. Violet clears her throat before grabbing her phone. "You're just gonna take a phone call while we're talking, do you know how rude that is?" Luke gasped. Violet answered the phone. "Hey, thanks for calling. Otherwise, people might think I'm talking to myself." "nice." "oh, but yeah. I think Great is a great choice." "Sweet, well, that was pretty much all I wanted to talk to you about." Luke awkwardly smiles. "oh, okay." Violet slides off. "Oh, well there's actually one thing I wanted to talk to you about. I know I'm not the easiest person to work with but I wanted to tell you that I think you make me a better writer." Luke scratches his head. "I think we make each other better." Violet smiles. "You know what, why don't you and Julie just skip school, let's go rehearse." Luke says. "Look as amazing as that sounds, I already missed last dance class and Julie promised her dad school first." Violet answered. "What's one more? Plus, Julie's at school first and now we should leave to go rehearse." Luke tells her. "Come on, I can't do this without you." "I can't... I- I told Ryan I'd be his dance partner."  

"Hey V!"

"and he's coming this way. Heyyy, gotta go, byee." Violet ends the call. "Well don't you look sharp." Luke looks at Ryan. "I know we haven't gotten to practice much together yet, but I'm sure we'll do fine. Are you ready for our big performance?" Ryan asks. "Yeah, we're gonna do great." Violet replies. "I'm glad you're confident because even after 3 classes, I still think I got worse." Ryan makes Luke pout. "It's good I got my secret weapon." Ryan looks at Violet. "Oh, I think someone has a crush on V." Luke says. Violet gives Luke a weird glance. "Shut up." Violet says before having a one-second freak out. "Oh, I mean, shut up!" She lightly punches Ryan. "No, seriously. V, I'm nothing without you." Ryan looks at her. "Psshh, no. No, you're gonna do fine." Violet reaches up and lightly pushes Ryan into Luke. "See you in there?" She asks. "Yeah, I'll be the guy trying not to make us look stupid." Ryan walks off with Luke behind him, mimicking him and laughing. 

"Well, he's just too cute!" Luke points at him, walking back to Violet. "Boundaries. I'll see you after school." Violet looks at him while walking off. "I guess we'll just have to carry you tonight, just like we always do." Luke tells her. Violet sighs and rolls her eyes playfully. She smiles. "Hey, I know you're smiling. Killin' it on the dance floor!" Violet can just picture him doing a mini dance with that talk. She laughs walking into the gym.

"Boys, I want you to focus and leave it all on the field." The Lacrosse coach explains. Ryan gives Violet a look from behind her, she shrugs. "You're loosing 'em. Breathe in, shake out your nerves." The dance teacher tells them. All of the students shake out their nerves. Ryan smiles at Violet, making her give a smile back. It seems they would be good friends. "Surrender to the music and to your partner." 

"When did we learn anything about surrendering?" Ryan asks Violet. "Nothing, Lu. We'll be fine, it was just- ya know." Violet answers, staring off into space. "Whose Lu?" Ryan waves his hand in front of her face. "huh? Oh, Lu- I don't know. I guess my mind was just wondering. I don't know." Violet lets out a nervous laugh, "But, my mind has now wondered back and I am ready to slaughter this thing, woah, big word." Ryan laughs. 

They smile as they start to dance. Ryan spins Violet and all of a sudden, he's gone. She makes a weird face then looks in the mirror. Gasping, she realizes Luke is walking out of the mirror?

Her breath hitches at the sight of him.

Violet just realizes that is her song, she's been writing. Just then, their hands touch.

They push away from each other, as Luke spins on the ground, coming back.

Violet gasps as Luke morphs into Ryan, not with his hand touching her cheek, but her shoulder. "That was amazing." He looks down at her. "Uhm, yea. I- I have to go." She pushes off his hand and walks out of the gym. Ryan shrugs it off and walks over to where Nick was, "Great job man." they do their little bro hug.

 Violet hums and plays the notes of 'Perfect Harmony' with a blank stare. "She's in here!" Julie shouts to Flynn as she walks into the music room. "We've been looking for you everywhere!" Flynn walks over to them. "yea, Why'd you run out of dance so fast?" "Oh, I just needed some air. It got a little intense in there." Violet looked at them. "Oh we noticed." Julie says. "Dancing with a cute guy will do that to you." Flynn told her. "yeah, but the whole time, we were dancing, I was thinking about Luke. And while Ryan had his hand on my shoulder, Luke somehow had his on my cheek." Violet looks down and then up at them. "Seriously?" Flynn asked. "Called it." Julie said. "I know you always want what you can't have but Luke is next level." Flynn looks at Violet. "I know. Luke and I just kinda clicked and he's so..." Violet blushes. "Not real." Julie finishes. "you can make all the music with Luke you want but he'll always be a phantom. So...," Flynn grabs Violets phone, "Here's what we're gonna do...." Julie looked over her shoulder, "Send Ryan a nice, little friendly text asking him to go to the party tonight." 

Violet looks at the text, "I use 1-2 smiley faces, 3 at the most. Not 5." "You do now." Flynn smiles at her, "We're not gonna let you get your heartbroken, trust us." "Tonight, we, which also means you, are performing with Luke." Julie reminds her. "So the key is to avoiding those big, beautiful, Dead, eyes." Flynn continues. "Y'all are very pushy today." Violet looks at them. "Welcome!" They smile.

"wassup everybody! Time to put your hands up, do a little dance, yup. Here's the new anthem from JV and the Phantoms." Flynn introduces the band. 

"Thanks for coming everyone!" Julie thanks as her and Violet walk out. 

Julie:

Violet glances at Luke before walking over to Reggie. As Julie walks to Reggie, Luke tries to walk to Violet but she walks to Alex instead.

Their foreheads tilt forward, less than an inch away, before Luke poofs away. Violets smile falters before coming back to life as she looks at the crowd.
