Violet didn't go to school the next day, she didn't even sleep. She spent the whole day producing her songs and recording them. She even made a mini CD with the 4 new songs, 'Stress Me Out', 'Kinda Numb', 'Hung up on You', and 'Drown.' 

Luke poofed in her room with a smile and 2 slips of paper scaring the crap out of Violet. "What the hell Luke?" she lets out. "you weren't with Julie today." Luke says. "Yeah, I know." She gives him the cold shoulder. "You look terrible." He looks at her. "That is definitely what a girl loves to hear." she smiles sarcastically. "look, I'm sorry. I never should've bailed. I even promised not to." Luke apologizes. 

Violet just looks at him. 

"Here, just listen."

Silence.

"you dropped this page with a song that didn't seem finished, so... I finished it for you. I really hope you like it." he hands her the lyric page.

He goes to her piano and starts playing. Also, secretly pressing what he hopes is the record button on her laptop. He motions her to begin.

Violet:

"I..." Violet smiles, "I love it."

Luke grins. "Thank you.

"But that still doesn't change the fact that you bailed." 

Luke's face drops, "I know... but hear me out, I got us a new gig. It's gonna be cool, there's gonna be all these managers and agents. It'll be good for us." 

"sweet. but... why are you telling me this?" Violet looks up at him.

"What do you mean? Of course I'm gonna tell you. Who's JV and the Phantoms without the V?" Luke asks making her chuckle.

"okay.. I'm in." She smiles.

"yes!!!" Luke shouts.

"Can you listen to this? I need thoughts." 

"Yeah." Luke smiles.

Violet puts the CD in the player. "Here's the first song, 'Stress me Out.'"

"It's great. They're amazing." Luke grins.

Then his mood suddenly drops. 

"Hey, Lu, what's wrong?" Violet furrows her eyebrows.

"can I tell you something?" 

"Sure." She smiles.

"You obviously know how I was in Sunset Curve, right?" Luke asks.

"Was? hun, you still are. That band lives forever." Violet looks at the poster and shirt. 

Luke chuckles, "Before I left to be in that band, I had a fight with my parents and ran off. I never went back to apologize and now, I can't because I'm a ghost. If I could go back and tell her I love her, I would. That's who Unsaid Emily is about, my mom. And the only reason I got so mad when Bob- Trevor took credit for all the songs I wrote is because now, my mom won't ever know that my dream was worth chasing." A tear slides down his face.

"Come here." Violet opens her arms. He slid into them with nothing stopping him. No one noticed they were actually touching and the faint glow that appeared around them. Luke cried into her shoulder. 

"Hey Luke?" 

"yeah?"

"Happy Birthday." 

"Than- wait, how'd you know?"

"I had a feeling." she smirks.

"thank you." 

Once they got out of the short hug, the glow disappeared. They stood in comfortable silence for a few seconds before Luke broke it,

"Hey Lottie?" 

Violet chuckled hearing the nickname, "yeah Lu?"

Luke smiled, "I missed you."

"I missed you too." 

Luke gave Violet a piece of paper before waving and poofing away.

Violet finally got to the address on the slip of paper. She saw Alex, Reggie, and Julie behind bushes. She walked over to them and whispered, "What are we doing?" They all jumped and Alex asked, "How'd you know we were here?"

Violet points at the crying boy inside. They all look inside where his parents are sat at a table. 

"They're having cake." Julie points out. 

"It's a birthday cake." Tears appear in Violets eyes, "For Luke."

"I never knew Luke was hurting this much." Julie confesses. "It's even worse because when he died, he.... left on bad terms." Alex says, "You know, his parents didn't want their 17-year-old in a rock band so..." 

"he just left..." Violet watches Luke get up and walk to the table. 

"yea, he never got the chance to make up with them." Alex finishes. 

Luke blows out the candle they just lit. 

Violet disregards everything that is being said next to her and watches Luke. She takes in his red, puffy, eyes with tears running down his face. The depressed look on his face as he sits down and watches his mom and dad. He blows the candle out with his parents. 

"We know how bad it hurts whenever someone that should've had your back... completely lets you down." Alex looks at Violet and Julie, "We never meant to make you guys feel that way." "JV, we love our band, and Luke does too. Please give us another chance." Reggie pleads.

"Luke convinced me before I came." Violet puts her hands up.

Luke appears in the chair next to his guitar.

"woah, Julie." He lets out. 

"Grab your guitar, we got work to do." Julie tells him. Luke looks at all of them, his eye lingering on a smirking Violet for a bit longer. She motions her head to his guitar. 

He grabs it and walks to Julie, "What made you come back?" "I realize how important music is to all of us." Julie looks at everyone, "and we've lost so much already. We loose this too." 

"thanks. Alright Boss," He smiles at Julie before turning to Violet, "Where we at?" 

"Oh, and by the way, Happy Birthday." Luke looks at Julie shocked before looking at the boys and Violet who just shrugged. 

"Let's go from the pre-chorus."
