The Orpheum

"Be thankful for what you are now, and keep fighting for what you want to be tomorrow."

Sunset Curve and Chris were standing underneath the Orpheum sigh, staring at the marquee that would hopefully be changed. Leaning against the wall with her phone to an ear, hoping to not look too suspicious as she talked to her friends.

"Look, don't worry, guys. Willie said he'd get us on that marquee." Alex said, looking at his friends, Chris just smiled at him when he spoke about the said ghost. "So does that mean I finally get to meet the cute skater boy that won my friends heart?"

All she got for an answer from her friend was a shy smile and a very rosy cheek blonde, making her feel proud that she was at least somewhat right.

"This is gonna work, right?" Reggie interrupted, getting the two back on topic.

"It has too." Luke responded back before the four were overcome with the familiar jolts of pain. Even though she could barely hold herself, Chris was a little thankful that she decided to lean against wall rather than stand near the road, otherwise that would have been a different story.

A swoosh sound was heard as Willie appeared behind the guys, looking at them concerned as he noticed them hunched over. "Hey, are you guys ok?"

"Yeah, it's nothing we haven't felt before." Alex shrugged, looking back over to Chris who just held a sarcastic smile and a thumbs up at him and the group. "How'd it go?"

"Well, when that opening band wakes up, they're gonna find their bus two-hundred miles outside of Vegas with no chance of getting back in time." Willie said happily, as he showed his new jacket that featured the now missing band to the boys.

Luke smiled at him as he and Willie did an elbow bump, laughing happily that they were closer to what they hoped was their reason to crossover. "And that means there's probably a promoter upstairs right about now freakin' out."

"Nah, this is Hollywood, man. I'm sure he's being very professional."

When Chris could finally pull her head up and not feel like she was about to collapse, she watched as Alex and what she would assume would be Willie talk alone, as Luke and Reggie came closer to her. "You ok?" Reggie asked, looking at the girl.

"I'm fine Reggie." The boys gave her a look, asking if she was really telling the truth, making her roll her eyes. "I promise, ok."

"Chris, we just want to make sure that you're not hurting yourself. We're worried about you especially with Caleb out there, we just don't want to see you get hurt." Luke looked at the girl, his eyes not only filled with concern, but also fear that he might just lose someone he cared for once again.

The Molina girl just smiled at him and grabbed his hand, giving him a reassuring squeeze. "I promise nothing is going to come between us and that gig. Not even this lousy stamp can destroy me before we get to play the Orpheum, trust me."

"Always do." He smiled at her before they looked over at the two guys who were hugging like it might be their last time seeing each other, which made it hurt more since they all knew it just might be. Willie, after wishing hot dog good bye, looked over the blondes shoulder and caught Chris's eyes and smiled. "I'm glad I finally got to meet you Christine. I wish it was under better circumstances though."

"I do too, you never know we can always ended up being great friends." She smirked before she waved at him and watched the boy depart from the group. Looking towards her friend, Chris gently placed an hand on his shoulder. "Alex, you all right?"

"Yeah, I'm ok." He said, squeezing her hand once before turning around to face the group who was now excited for the next step. "Well, thanks to Willie, Panic! At The Disco needs an opening band." Luke said to the group.

"Then I guess someone up there needs to know we're available."

With that the boys disappeared to do phase two of the plan, as Chris waited down on the sidewalk for the group to come back.

Julie could feel her heart racing in her ears, as she walked back and forth in the garage nerves on their highest than they have ever been. Not just because they were trying to get a gig at the Orpheum, but because if they screwed up just one thing she not only would lose two friends and a boy she actually started to like, but her older sister as well.

When she heard the familiar sound the boys made when they appeared, Julie turned towards the group frantically. "Oh my gosh! What took you guys so long? Did Willie do it?" Chris opened her mouth to speak with a smile on her face, but Julie being her usual self wasn't allowing it. "Did you talk to them? Did they watch? Did they like us? Are we playing? Someone answer! Why's no one talking?"

"Ok, whoa! That's a lot of questions Jules!" Chris shouted at he sister. "Why don't you take a seat, ok? Ok." She said pushing her sister onto the couch as she sat on the other side of her sister, the boys all leaning on the other end of the coffee table. "It's fine, everything is fine."

"Yeah, you should be getting a call right... Now!" Alex said pointing towards Julies phone, but nothing.

"OK, right...Now!" Once again nothing happened, until the white screen showed the name unknown caller on the phone, causing the group to smile and scream in happiness. "Nailed it." Alex said as the guys high-fived each other.

The group just looked at each other, and when no one made a move to answer the guys yelled go at the girls while pointing towards the phone urgently. "Oh!" Chris shouted, her eyes growing in size as she picked the phone up, clearing her throat she hit accept and turned it to speaker. "Hello?"

"Hi, this is Tasha from the Orpheum in Hollywood." When that was said the group started to cheer silently, Chris and Julie jumping up and down on the couch while the boys danced around on the ground. "Is this Chris of CJ and the Phantoms?" Julie signaling for the guys to shut up, caused the garage to go silent as Chris put the phone towards her ear.

"Yes, it is." She said smiling as they once again started to dance sporadically around the garage.

"Hi, are you available to open for us tonight?"

"Yeah, totally."

"Ok." Tasha answered back, a little laughter sneaking into her voice, as Chris would assume she was thinking her eager response was somewhat funny. "Thank you so much." Chris said back as she watched Luke and Reggie do the classic Dirty Dancing move with Alex.

"See you then." Tasha ended the call, making Chris shout as loud as she could looking at her friends and sister. "We're playing the Orpheum, baby! Yeah!"

"I'm swimming." Alex said happily as the group just enjoyed the moment not ready to think what was to come soon, but rather the happy memories that were in front of them.

Both Julie and Chris were in the Molina household, planing outfits for tonights show, music playing in the background. As Julie grumbled about supposedly not having anything to wear, Chris was to busy staring off into space just staring at the mirror that reflected a girl she barely knew anymore. Way before the guys appeared, Chris had to admit she was hard headed and was against getting close to people who weren't family, and even then it was hard for her as she blamed so many things on herself.

Her mothers death, her aunt in a way disowning her, she went to a rehab center after getting addicted to things she knew were horrible for her, and almost lost her siblings and father. Yet, it was because of the guys, she was able to gain her sister back, she finally accepted herself more and she even might have found someone that she was could trust or was able to trust.

"Jules," Chris sighed glancing over to her sister who was holding a red shirt in front of her. "You know we need to talk about these jolts."

"I don't feel like talking about this right now, Ris." Julie whispered, as she threw the shirt on her bed, looking for something else. "Julie, we have to ta-"

"No!" Julie shouted throwing something on the ground angrily. "I don't have to talk about how in a few hours I might not only lose some amazing friends, but also my sister, who by the way hasn't said anything to her dad or younger brother. So, why should I? Huh? Why should I?" Julie had tears running down her face as she stared at her sister, who had no idea what to really say at the moment.

The older girl could feel her eyes sting in pain as she walked over to her little sister. "Jules, you know if I could this stamp would have been long gone."

"I know." Julie whimpered as she wept into her sisters shoulder, who was running her hands though her hair at the moment. "Why do I have to lose everyone I love, Ris?"

"I don't know to be honest. The world is a cruel place Jules, all that matters is how we fight to live through it and come out victorious at the end of the day." She said as she pulled away from her sister, brushing the tears from her face. "I have something that I want you to have."

Chris walked over to her mini back pack, and pulled out six envelopes and a folded piece of paper. "I made some letters for some people. Theres one for you, Los, dad, Flynn, tía and Carrie. You know last words and all that." She laughed, wiping her eyes and clearing her throat before handing the piece of paper that she held off for so long.

Julie opened the torn notebook paper and could feel her heart break at the scribbled words that littered the page. "Chris, no I-I can't accept this." She said trying to push the paper back over to her sister, who just shook her head. "No, Jules. I want you to have it and perform it for dad and los sometime, can you do that for me?"

"I promise." Julie whispered as she lunged at her sister, the two just enjoying the company before they had to return to reality that they lived in today.

Chris sighed once again, sniffing in as she kissed her sisters head. "I love you Jules."

"I love you too."

Why do I keep torturing you guys with these sad moments?
