Song Writing
"Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit and never dies"
~❤️~🎼~❤️~
Yesterday was interesting, to say the least. After a long day of dancing and explaining to her friends what was up with the holograms, Chris could finally relax only to see her sister and 'friends' being weird when she finally came home. The rest of the night was spent finishing the show and watching Alex and Luke wrestle on the floor over who was better couple, Alex obviously wining since Malec was end game.
Sunday, the five of them were once again in the studio but were actually trying to work, key word trying.
"Reggie I swear if you throw that paper ball at me one more time, I will finish you." Chris glared at the ghost, who slowly lowered the ball back down. "I forgot how hard it is writing a song."
"You know we can always use the poems that you and mom created, Ri." Julie said pointing towards the box that was still sitting on the shelf. "Julie-"
"No, come on Chris, Julie's right you can't keep holding back those amazing poems." Luke exclaimed as he walked over towards the girl, who only let out a sigh. "Come on Chris, now or never."
Looking up and seeing the looks she was receiving, Chris just didn't know how to feel. Yes, she had to admit she wanted to try and use the unfinished songs and poems that she created, but at the same time it is still difficult for her to look back at the songs.
"How about this, I show you one song that I was working on that we never released and you show me one of your songs, deal?" Luke held out his hand toward the girl, who was still mentally debating about what she was going to do, but at least happy that they could maybe move on she hesitantly took his hand. "Fine, you got yourself deal."
When they broke away, Luke happily ran towards his song book and skimmed through the old tattered music book before stopping at a certain page. "Reese and I were working on this song the week before our...incident." He handed over the notebook over to the girl, who looked at the unfinished song. "Wow, this sounds like a killer song, Luke."
"Thanks, but it could use a few touch ups looking at it now."
"Ohh, let me see." Julie said running over to the two who were now sitting behind the piano. When Julie got a hold of the song book though, she looked at writing before looking at her sister. "Chris how in the world can you read this writing?" Reggie and Alex started to laugh when Julie said that.
"Hey, my writing isn't that bad alright!" Luke argued grabbing the book away from his friends crush before handing it back over to Chris, who was still looking at her sister. "What do you mean, it's not that hard to read."
"C trust me, his writing is so bad that the first time he introduced the song Now or Never I thought he wrote about bow or webber." Alex said in between laughs.
"Ok, are we all done making fun of my writing, because I would like to make a song here." Luke sighed as he pulled his beanie further down his face hoping to hide his embarrassment. "Yeah, L were done aren't we guys?" Chris looked at the three with a glare, quickly making them shut up very fast.
"Yeah"
"Sure"
"Why is Chris always glaring at me?"
Giving her a smile, the four of them began to come up with a beat for what they had at the moment.
~❤️~🎼~❤️~
"What about this." Luke said before strumming his guitar and singing the new lyrics he came up with.
We all mistakes
But they're just stepping stones
To take us where we wanna go
It's never straight, no
"Oh and how about instead of having this section here we added here then, making it go like this." Chris suggested as she started to play on the piano.
Sometime we gotta lean
Lean on someone else
To get a little help
Until we find our way
"I like that." Julie said as she wrote in he song book, deeming it was better for her and the other two ghost seeing as she had best penmanship. "Wow, half an hour and we finished one song guys."
"Not quite yet Jules. We still need to come up with a name for the song." Chris made her way over to her sister taking a break from sitting for so long. "Well what would you suggest then, Ri?" Julie looked at her sister with a raised eyebrow. Looking over the finished songs Lyrics her eyes kept landing on one word. "Why not great?"
Luke looked over towards the girl, who was still looking at the songbook, he never told the others, but the song was already named. What made him stunned was hearing her say the name that so long ago Reese had came up with, saying that it was simple, but it gave so much hope.
"Anyone against the name?" Julie questioned and when no one detested the name she nodded her had and wrote great on the top of the lyrics. "Well one song done and it's only one. I don't know about you Ris, but mama is in need of a sandwich."
"Can you make me one as well Jules?" All she received for an answer was a hand wave before her sister disappeared out the door. "Welp I need a break writing is hard."
Chris and Luke looked over too Reggie. "Reggie you do realize all you did was strum your guitar, while Luke, Julie and I came up with lyrics right?"
"Hey! Strumming chords takes a lot out of someone ok. I'm going for a walk since I am not needed I guess." With that the boy disappeared.
"I should go after him before he does something stupid." Alex sighed before waving at his friends and disappearing as well, leaving Chris and Luke alone in the studio.
Standing up Chris made her way over to the box and brought it over to where Luke was sitting. "What are you doing?"
"Fulfilling are deal." She said as she skimmed through the papers that were littering the boxes bottom, until she found two songs. "My mom and I were making this song for fun, but we never got to finish it." Luke carefully grabbed the song carefully scared that he might rip it by accident.
"Stand Tall?"
"Yeah, that was what we named the song, but as you can tell we only got half way finished still need a few words for the ending and the chorus needs to be created as well." She pointed out the areas that were missing, but stopped when she turned and looked into the ghost glowing hazel eyes.
The two looked into each others eyes not caring that anyone could walk in at the moment or anything. "So...what's with the other song?" Luke finally said causing the girl to look away from him as she let out a cough.
"Oh..uh, well I came up with this song after having a weird dream about this guy so long ago. Carrie was always asking if I was cheating on her since, most of my songs and drawing were based on this guy." Chris couldn't help but laugh at the memory not seeing the envious look Luke had on his face when hearing about her ex, but also about this mystery boy. "Anyway, I just had this feeling and I ended up making this song at one o'clock in the morning."
"Do you mind playing some of it for me?" He asked.
"Uh...yeah sure." Chris put the box on the piano before grabbing her six string and siting back on the stool that she was sitting on earlier.
I fell down, down, down
Into this dark and lonely hole
There was no one there to care about me anymore
And I needed a way to climb and grab a hold of the edge
You were sitting there holding a rope
And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
Go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now
Luke could almost feel the pain, but pleasantness of the song, he knew that it meant a lot to Chris, but it just made him more curious how could this mystery guy create such a feeling like this for her.
When we get back down on land
Well I'll never get my chance
Be ready to live and it'll be ripped right out of my hands
And maybe someday we'll take a little ride
Go up, up, up and everything will be just fine
And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
Go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, It won't be long now
If only I had a little bit more time
If only I had a little bit more time with you
Every single time Chris had ever thought of this song she always wanted to cry because it always felt like she was living through the pain this person had went through.
It could go up, up, up
Then take that little ride
We'll sit there holding hands
And everything would be just right
And maybe someday I'll see you again
We'll float up in the clouds and we'll never see the end
We'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
Go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now
As the last string was strummed the room was filled with a deafening silence no one spoke. Turning her head she looked back at the boy again getting lost in his eyes, but neither one of them looked away or tried to avoid the other one, they just embraced the moment.
"Hey, so we ran out of crunchy peanut butter, and I know you hate smooth so I made you a turkey sandwich instead." Julie walked in, only to see the two people looking away and avoiding eye contact with the girl.
"Did I interrupt something?"
So, I don't enjoy doing free writes because it's hard for me to come up with things. Yeah, so sorry if this and the past chapter sucked. Now the ship name between Chris and Luke is Christuke which was given to me by @Ice_Queenie. I'm still looking for ship names for Chris and Reggie Plus Chris and Carrie, also maybe Luke and Reese seeing as she may or may not be showing up a little later (hint hint)
Also credit to the amazing Zach Sobiech, he made an amazing song and I'm sad he passed awhile ago, but the movie Disney made for him was amazing.
Question time
-If I did a Julie Molina fanfic should I do a girl love interest or a guy love interest and who should they be related to?
-Follow up question ghost or human?
-I also might do another Luke fanfic and If I do should it also be a guy with guy or a girl with girl.
-Same question human or ghost and who are they related to?
Hope y'all are ready for things to get interesting by the way we about to meet Bobby and Caleb soon.
