Perfect Harmony (J+R)
"The worst feeling in the world is when you know that you both love each other but still you just can't be together."

"I got a spark in me, hands up if you can see. When you're a part of me, hands up if you're with me. I got a spark in me, hands up..." Ray sang, as Julie came down stairs getting ready to start the day, only to see her father and boy she is secretly starting to like jamming out in the kitchen.
"This is new." Julie said as she sat down her stuff for the day.
"Yeah, I decided to cook some breakfast for your sister as an apology for last night and to also surprise her today, since it's her birthday and all." Ray said as he scrapped what was in the pan.
Reggie started to laugh as he pointed at the older man. "He thought you were talking to him, me and your dad are pals now. It's a little one-sided, but it works."
"Look, after the talk we had the other night, I was thinking that I may have cost you and your sister an opportunity with that manager. So, I was thinking-"
"Dad, no. I should've never snuck out. Plus It wasn't Ris fault, I kind of was the one who talked her into driving us up there to exact." Julie said to her father.
"Let the man speak." Reggie said, looking at the girl. "He's been stress eating all week, I don't know where he puts it though. It's, like...firm." Reggie gestured to Rays abdominal area, making Julie a little concerned if she's ok with her crush hanging out with her father, even if he couldn't really see his new pal.
Ray looked at his daughter, "I know, but I really want to support your band, so I called in some favors, and I booked you a local gig." Ray said happily, as the two teens started to be overly excited about the news.
"Best dad ever! What?" Reggie said, looking at the girl.
"Oh my gosh. Where? Did you call your buddy from Drakes?" Julie questioned, only for her father to give her the sad smile. "Not quite. I called Flynn, and she's gonna help us throw a birthday party for your sister. Here, tonight." Ray said, looking away from the girl, who quickly lost her smile. Yeah, she cared about her sister and wanted to celebrate her birthday with her, but she also knew the girl really was against celebrating today.
"Oh!" Julie said, "So you booked us a gig at our house? To celebrate Ris's birthday? Is she even ok with the idea?"
Reggie looked at Julie, in a disappointed way. "Maybe I was early with the Best Dad Ever award. Though it is nice that he wants to make Chris's birthday special in a way." Reggie shrugged at the end, before looking down.
"Alright, here me out. No, Christine doesn't know where throwing her a party, but I thought you could invite some of your guys friends over, and you both play with your band, and I'll get some colleagues to put you on film. That way you have something professional for your YouTube." Ray said happily before adding to his thought process, "Plus she thinks you're just playing for a gig, but once the song is done we can celebrate her birthday.
Julie could only chuckle as she had to admit it was a sneaky way of getting her sister to come to her own birthday party unknowingly. "You'd do that for me and Ris?"
"Yeah." Ray said with a smile, before grabbing his coffee mug to get some more to drink.
"Back to best dad ever." Reggie said happily, as he watched Ray leave before turning back to face the Molina girl. "I'll go tell the guys, but can you meet us at the garage before you guys leave?" Not understanding why, Julie just nodded her head at the boy, making him smile before walking away. "Have a good day at work, Ray. It's cool you don't have to answer."
All Julie could do was shake her head at the boy as he whooshed away into thin air. "I'm going to head to the garage, I'll tell Ris to come here though." Ray nodded at his daughter, Julie saw him grab an extra cup to start filling, probably for Chris as she left through the door. It just so happened Chris was walking up the walkway at the moment. "Dad needs to talk with you, so I'm going to chill in the garage. Just message me when you're ready to go." The older sibling just nodded before the two of them headed to where the other just came from.
"So why am I here?" Julie questioned as she swung the doors open to reveal the three boys doing different things in the garage. Alex was twirling his drum stick in one hand, Reggie looked to be tuning his guitar while Luke seemed to be working on a song over top of their moms piano.
"We have an idea for tonight." Luke said, looking away from the paper that was siting on the piano. "The guys and I found out about Chris's birthday last night, and since she's been nice to us all this time, we wanted to give her something special in return."
Fixing one more thing on the paper, Luke grabbed it and went over to Julie handing her the messy paper. "Whats this?" She questioned, only understanding a few key words at a time. The boys looked at each other before smiling, "Since we suck at saying things, we stayed up all last night and made her..." Alex looked at the other two before they stared doing drum rolls.
"A song!" The three of the them shouted, before doing the classic jazz hands. "And we wondering If you wanted to help singing it to her tonight before the gig/party, that Reggie was telling us about?"
Julie was still reading the paper, but from the few words she was reading, she quite enjoyed what the song was about. So, with a big smile on her face she looked towards the guys. "I'm in."
~*~*~*~
Chris was dreading school, for the last three hours and lunch period she had to suffer through people that she didn't even know of barely talk to wish her either a happy birthday or sorry for your loss. Luckily her next period was the one thing she knew didn't equal people talking, but rather the emotions through dance.
"Hey." A familiar voice said, startling the girl who was just closing her locker.
With a quick look around to make sure no one was watching, Chris looked back at the ghost who was surprisingly wearing sleeves. "Normal people don't do that, and ghosts definitely shouldn't." She said crossing her arms, before letting out a laugh. "What are you doing here?"
"Well first of all, we need to talk about what song we're going to play tonight. I was thinking...'Great.'" He suggested, and before the girl could respond she just happened to glance over and watch a student stare at her, causing the girl to start pulling out her phone with a smile on her face. "You're gonna take a call while we're talking? You know how rude that is?"
"Hey! Thanks for calling, otherwise people might think I'm talking to myself." Chris said looking at the boy, who only just smiled at her sheepishly. "Right, nice."
"No. But, yeah I think 'Great' is a... great choice." Chris smiled at the boy, both just staring at each other for a second, before Luke looked away.
He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, as he looked over the girl, avoiding eye contact with her. "Sweet. Well...the second part I wanted to say was Happy Birthday Christine." Smiling at the girl, who quickly looked away. "I know why your hating today, but I want you to understand I'm- I mean the guys and I are here for you, e-especially me. I know I'm not the easiest person to work with, but I... I wanted to tell you that I think you make me a better writer and a better person, Christine."
Chris couldn't help but smile at the compliment, even though she's been receiving countless of them today, this one seemed more genuine. Making the girl feel a certain way that she hasn't felt in what felt like years.
"I think we make each other better." She said softly, looking downwards and away from the boy.
"You know what? Why don't you just ditch school today? Let's go rehearse. It is after all your birthday and every thing." Luke suggested, but was quickly shot down by the girl. "What? No, I promise my dad, school first. Plus you saw what happened last night, by me skipping school he'll start thinking I'm going back into my old habits."
"Right, but how about this, you were at school first, and now you're leaving to go rehearse. Come on, I can't do this without you." Lukes eyes widened as he realized what he said. "A-And Julie. I can't do this without you and Julie."
Hiding the hurt that she just got for getting her hopes up she looked back at the ghost. "I can't, I told Scott I'd be hist dance partner."
"If you need a dance partner I'm always happy to help." Luke suggested as he grabbed the girls hand and twirled her around, surprising the girl a little. "See."
"Hey, Christine!"
"Scott!" Christ said, realizing the predicament she was in at the moment, and hoping that she looked somewhat normal. "You ready for our performance?"
"Oh yeah. We're gonna do great. Just one question thought, whose your friend?" Scott asked pointing at the boy who was wearing a purple long sleeve shirt. "I don't think I've seen you around here before, are you new?"
The two of them looked at each other in shock, Luke remembering that the last time this happened was with her father when she passed out on her front porch. While Chris was surprised that the guy she counted as a friend could see the boy next to her without them playing.
"Wait, isn't he that guitarist from you and your sisters band?"
"Uh, yeah. Scott this is Luke our head guitarist. Luke this is Scott my old dance partner from my old dance studio that I use to attend." Chris awkwardly introduced, as she was still in Lukes arms, who seemed to keep tightening his grip, but no letting go.
"I really enjoy your guys music, I actually am a big fan of your guys in a way. Especially since my little friend over here is the lead singer in a way." Scott said as he pointed at the girl, who started blushing at the compliment, Luke on the other hand was starting to glare at the boy who was quick to notice. "Well I'm going to head towards the gym to get ready for the performance in a few. It was nice meeting you Luke and Chris." He got close to the girl, his lips near her ear to make sure the boy couldn't here. "He cute, girl. If you don't go for him I'll happily take him off your hands."
Scott smiled, while Chris tried to hold in her laugh. "I'll see you in there Scotty." She said as she got a quick wave, as her and Luke watched the boy run away down the hall. Once he was out of a sight and she was sure no one would notice, she got out of Lukes arms and instead leaned against her locker.
"I think somebody has a crush on Christine." Luke muttered, glaring at the boys retreating figure.
"Yeah, sure." She said rolling her eyes at the boy, who looked at her confused. "The only reason why Scotty boy over there would ever want to go out with me is if I had a different package like you got. Plus I don't think his boyfriend, Derek would like it if I took his man from him."
It was funny for the Molina girl, as she watched the boys face curl up into an o shape. "Oh! So he's..."
"Gay, yeah."
"Well, he's just too cute!" Luke said now happy that he wasn't trying to take the girl from him, already liking the boy more and more.
All the girl could do was roll her eyes at the boy. "I'll see you after school." With that she started to walk away towards the gym to probably talk about what Scott saw in the hallway between her and Luke.
"Guess we'll just have to carry you tonight just like we always do!" Luke yelled, making Chris let out a sigh and a small smile. "I know you're smiling. Kill it on the dance floor."

"Boys! I want you to focus and leave it all out of the field." The coach said, making everyone confused. "You're losing them, Frank." Mrs. Thompson said, only for him to disagree. "No, I got 'em."
"Breath in, shake out your nerves. Surrender to the music and to your partner, here we go." Mrs. Thompson said, before heading over to the speaker.
Before the music started Nick Walked over from behind Julie. "I-I don't remember anything about surrounding."
Julie just threw her hands out and the boy, to show it didn't matter. "You'll be fine, Reggie."
"It-It's Nick, actually."
"Right! Nick, sorry." Julie said realizing her mistake. "My brain was wandering, but it wandered back and now I'm ready to kill it." Just after saying that the music started, causing the pair to get into their positions for the dance, as the teacher started to count. At first Nick and Julie we're doing amazing, both doing what they were suppose to without any errors.
Yet, as Nick tapped her on the shoulder, it was almost like Julie was stuck in a trance as a different song started to take over the other song. The same feeling came again as she looked at the mirrors that were place towards the front, where she saw someone that she wasn't expecting. In the glass, it looked to be only two people in the room rather than a whole class, Julie on one side while a neatly dressed Reggie was on the other side.
The said boy stared at her as he walked closer, going through the mirror before singing.
(Reggie)
Step into my world~
Bittersweet love story 'bout a girl
Shook me to the core~
Reggie held out his hands after reaching the girl, Julie doing the same watched as her hands went through his, like they always did.
Voice like an angel
I've never heard before~
Yet, the third time she did it was when she finally got to feel the boys hands touch hers, the feeling caused her chills, as she was delighted to say she was holding the hands of the boy she was slowly starting to grow feelings for.
(Julie)
Here in front of me~
They're shining so much brighter
Than I have ever seen~
Life can be so mean
But when he goes~
I know he doesn't leave~
(Both)
The truth is finally
Breaking through
Two worlds collide when I'm with you
Reggie and Julie pushed away from each other, as she watched the boy start to do an interesting dance move back towards her, before they once again rejoined hands with each other.
A voice is rising so, so high~
We come to life
When we're in perfect harmony~
Reggie grabbed the girl from the mid thigh, as he lifted her in the air before spinning her around and as he lowered her back towards the ground, did they see how close they were to each other. Both of them just staring at each other and enjoying the close contact for the first time.
Whoa-oa-oa, Whoa-oa-oa
Perfect harmony
Whoa-oa-oa, Whoa-oa-oa
We say we're friends
Julie threw up her hands towards the sky, Reggie watching as he stood behind the girl.
We play pretend
He sang as he slowly brought his hands up towards hers as they laced them together once again.
You're more to me~
The two of them wrapped their arms around each other, just enjoying the embrace as Reggie leaned his head on her shoulder, close to the girls ear.
We create~
The perfect harmony~
Julie sang as he spun her out of his warm embrace.
"Wow, we nailed that. Thanks, partner." Nick said, making the girl realize that when she was dancing it was with Nick rather than Reggie, causing the girl to look at him in shock.
"Um, that was great." Was all Julie could say as she looked back at the mirror rather than the boys who was still staring at her happily. Julie was happy when the bell rang, as she let go of Nicks hand. "I gotta get going." She said before leaving the boy and heading towards the doors for her one safe haven.
So, sadly I didn't hit my goal like I wanted but I do know that I will be finishing this book before 2020 does end, seeing as I actually can't wait for you guys to see what is about to happen more between the characters.
We got a little moment between Julie and Reggie, but don't think that Luke and Chris aren't going to have theirs, I do promise these two will have their little perfect harmony moment, trust me on that.
~Questions~
-Are you happy of the little moment between Julie and Reggie?
