Dance Pain

"A daughter needs a dad, to be the standard against which she will judge all men."

Chris had no idea how she got on the couch or why she had a burning pain on her wrist, but she did know that school was about to start soon. That's why she was rushing around and cursing herself out for over sleeping, knowing her father would kill her if she was late especially having a test first hour.

"I see that you're feeing better." Ray said, startling the girl making her drop a book on her foot. "Ow! Huh? Why wouldn't I be feeling good?" She asked hopping on one foot through her room, trying to find her missing shoe, Ray watching amused before helping his daughter out. "Yeah, your friend Luke said you were tired and he was trying to bring you inside without waking you."

Chris stopped her search when he brought up the ghost boy she was mad at from last night. "Wait what? Luke?"

Ray was shock to hear his daughter voice go squeaky, remembering hearing the same thing so long ago with a certain someone in his life. "Yes, Luke."

"Oh, yeah Luke." Chris faked like she had a duh moment as she grabbed her missing shoe and pulling it on quickly. "Sorry pops, but I can't be late for school. I'll see you later, love you!" With that she ran out the doors, leaving a chuckling father. "Ahh young love. Wait, no. Christine no dating till your thirty-five!"

Three hours of torture was finally over, and Chris was happy to say that she at least hopefully scored an A on her test, hopefully. At least she could finally feel relaxed since her fourth hour was dance class, something that she had a passion for since she was two.

"Alright ladies! Let's start warming up!" Mrs. Thompson yelled before pressing start on the machine. Warm-ups were about three-fourths of the way done, when Julie finally joined the class.

"And right, and left. Step, touch. Step, touch. Step, tou-" Soon as Mrs. Thompson saw the younger Molina, she paused what she was doing to look at the girl. "Oh, Julie, how nice of you to join us."

Julie turned to look at their teacher with an apologetic smile on her face. "I'm so sorry, I overslept."

"Just take your spot." Their teacher said before turning continuing with what she was doing, as Julie walked towards her sister and friend. "Dad's gonna kill you." Chris muttered.

"Don't blame it on me alright. So, why didn't you wake me up? I missed my first three classes." Julie asked looking at their friend who let out a nervous chuckle. "You said you were never gonna show your face at school again and I'm a very literal person."

"It's ok. It's those stupid ghosts that I'm really upset at. Though Luke did win some points with helping me out explain why you passed out, Ris. You doing alright by the way?" The girl asked looking towards her sister, who just nodded her head not feeling like talking for some reason. "I'd kill them if they weren't already dead."

"I'll do it for you since I at least can. Oh yeah one question how did dad see Luke last night?" Chris stopped what she was doing to look towards her sister.

"I actually have no clue one minute you guys are arguing the next you're passing out into Luke arms where dad just can see Luke." Julie shrugged.

As the three of them changed movement, so did the conversation. "Having a band is supposed to help your social life, not ruin it."

"Ex-band." Julie and Chris said, gaining a glare from their friend. "Right, sorry. Ex-band."

"It's all so messed up. I thought they were in this with us, but obviously, we were wrong."

"Hey, don't blame yourself. You can only be so strong when three cute ghosts ask you to join a band. Speaking of cute, have you talked to Nick?" Flynn looked at Julie with a smile before turning to look at Chris. "Or how about scheduling another date with Levi? They were both pretty close and chatty at the dance."

Julie looked at her sister, Chris doing the same thing before letting out a sigh. "No, Levi and I were a one time thing. Plus I just got this weird feeling when I was around him."

"No, and I'm kinda dreading it. At least I know I won't see him in this class." Julie happily said before they did a stretch making them face towards the door. Luck seemed to be against Julie as the boys from the lacrosse team made their way into the gym. "Wha...You've got to be kidding me."

"What?" Flynn and Chris asked not noticing.

"What are they doing here?" Julie questioned, just as their teacher walked over to the coach.

"Right on time, Coach Barron. So, students, Coach Barron and I have decided that his lacrosse team will be part of our class for a few weeks. Many pro athletes have used dance to help them with coordination and mobility."

Coach Barron then interrupted. "This isn't about flirting with girls." All the boys began to laugh at his comment. "It's about making us better so we can actually win a game. We lost against Burbank. Burbank!"

Everyone grew quiet after the shout the boys coach yelled, so Mrs. Thompson let out a cough. "Well, let's all remember that composure is a big part of dance. Everybody pair up." None of the boys made an attempt to move towards the girls, until their coach once again yelled at them.

A few seconds later two boys grabbed Chris and Flynns hand, dragging them away from Julie. "No! Don't leave me."

"We're sorry."

Turning towards her partner, she was happy it was someone she knew. "Hey, Scott."

"Hey, Chris. It's been awhile since we last talked to each other." Chris said awkwardly, thankfully Mrs. Thompson intervened. "So, ladies, let's do what we learned last week, and we will perform this with the boys this Friday. Coach Barron and I will demonstrate."

You could see the fear in the coaches eyes once Mrs. Thompson said that. "No. I don't dance. So.."

"You do now." She stated pulling the man behind her, before she started to instruct the group the dance.

"I see you still remember some of the moves I taught you last year." Chris laughed as Scott was actually doing very well. "How can I not? I after all had a great teacher, who didn't give up on me even after all the conclusions and sprain wrist I caused." He laughed, as they continued to dance sadly it was cut short. When Scott spun her out and was about to spin her back into his arms when a searing pain went through the girl.

"Ahh." She silently shouted grabbing her chest in pain stumbling towards the ground. "Chris!" Scott shouted, dropping to the girl and rubbing her back. "Are you alright, I didn't step on you foot again did I?"

When the pain slowly went away, Chris just shook her head slowly standing up shakily. "No, I'm fine Scotty. I just need to sit down for a little bit."

The boy just nodded his head as he helped the girl over to the side, the pair sitting down for the rest of the class time, after explaining what happened to Mrs. Thompson. Chris was lost in thought, still rubbing her chest, but unknowingly rubbing her wrist as well.

'What just happened?'

Yay, episode six!

Sorry for short chapter.
