9. You're Not Supposed to be Here!

Reina: It's been so long that I really looked at Ghirahim's My Roommate?.... So much so that I forgot that about Lexy.

Also, I wrote this chapter a few years before Fire Emblem Fates.....

Chapter 9: You're not suppose to be here!

Vaati

I walked over to Zelda and held my arm out. "Would you like me to take your coat, milady?"

The White Knight got in front of Zelda and glared at me. "Don't even think about laying a hand on the beloved princess, peasant," he growled.

I flinched. Jeez. That was harsh, coming from a knight like that. Was this really Zelda's love interest? She could do better. Or rather, she should have. But then again, I cannot control someone's emotions or dictate who they love... And I doubt that Link would love her now...

Zelda glared at the White Knight. "It's all right. He was merely offering assistance." She smiled at me, and took off her coat, revealing her green dress. She handed me the coat and smiled at Link. "Lead the way, Link."

Link nodded and led Zelda, Aryll, and the White Knight to the dining hall. I was putting Zelda's coat up when Shadow came to me. "What now?" He hissed. His eyes were filled with worry, and I can't blame him. Link was right. This might be a diaster after all.

I was about to answer Shadow when I saw a maid wearing a dark-blue dress and a frilly apron walk towards the dining room. I cursed. Damn it! Why was Lexy here? I thought I told her to do another assignment, not come here! She could jeopardize everything!

"Attend to Link and the others," I commanded Shadow. "I'll talk to her." I pointed to Lexy.

Shadow's eyes narrowed in her direction. "I thought she was suppose to be in Gerudo Valley keeping an eye on the Gerudo, not acting like a maid! Just don't kill her or scare her," Shadow asked as he turned and left to assist Link.

"Why would I do such a thing," I asked myself as I dashed over to Lexy and grabbed her arm. She looked at me in shock, and I dragged her to the room that I used for strategy. I locked the door so that no one could hear us and glared at her. She gave me a confused look, irritating me.

"Explain yourself Lexy," I told her after a few seconds.

Lexy glared at me. Her long strawberry blonde hair was up in a ponytail and her grey eyes tried to scare me, but it failed. She sighed and began talking.

"I came back here to bring my report to you about the Gerudo and saw a carriage parked nearby the mansion. As to avoid getting noticed, I entered through the kitchen and snuck into the servant's supply area, where I found this outfit, and you know the rest..." Lexy looked at me, waiting for my response.

I thought about her response and nodded. "I see. Sorry if I dragged you. You see, we had a bunch of stress going on, and it has yet to disappear."

Lexy frowned. "Who's here?"

I mentally smacked myself for not telling Lexy immediately. Some people may have figure it out who was here, but Lexy and I know that there are multiple people (and agents) in Hyrule who use carriages, so it could have been a neighboring lord or another agent for all she knew, so I had to tell her. "Princess Zelda and her 'friend', the White Knight are visiting us," I said after a few seconds.

Lexy squealed. "Yay! I can finally meet the princess!" She tried to run off, but I grabbed her shoulder. "This not the Zelda you think of. She is different, and she brought a person who thinks highly of himself, so it would be wise to not approach them or Link and Aryll. He is called the White Knight."

"So Link finally came back..." Lexy murmured. Then she turned to me and had a childish smile on her face. "Permission to hug Link after Zelda leaves? Part of me wants to for some reason..."

I laughed, imagining the poor warrior struggle against Lexy, who, despite her petite size, was quite strong and could potentially break the average person's back with her arms of steel. "Go for it," I told her as a grin crossed my lips.

"Thank you Sir Vaati," she said happily.

I frowned. "Despite the fact that you are one of my agents stationed in Hyrule, I insist that you don't address me as 'Sir'. It makes me feel old and it's just weird."

"Can I say; 'Yes sir' or 'Sir, yes, sir,'? Or should I say 'Yes sir, general'?"

Before I could answer her question, wails and noise echoed through the mansion. I cursed. "Dammit, Ghirahim is trying to escape."

"You locked Ghirahim in an attic?" Lexy asked in mild surprise. "I was wondering how long it would take for you to lock him somewhere after hitting a breaking point."

"I did it so Zelda wouldn't find him. He needs to shut up or else questions will be asked..."

"I'll deal with him. Go lie to Zelda," Lexy muttered as she dashed off in the direction of Ghirahim's voice. I followed her and gave her an orb. "Use this to knock out Ghirahim if he escapes."

Ghirahim left the room at that minute and dashed off. Lexy followed him and hissed, "Go to Zelda!" to me.

I sighed and wandered around for a bit before entering the dining room. Upon entering, Aryll smiled at me. "Did you deal with the ghost, Forest? Because he seems quieter now."

Forest? I thought silently. Did she seriously call me Forest? Wow. That's new. But it's better than being called Vaati right now... And I'm glad that Aryll lied about Ghirahim...

I nodded. "I sent the maid after him, and she is currently dealing with him."

Zelda and the White Knight looked at me with surprise (at least, I think the knight did). "You have a maid Link?" She asked.

"We recently hired her," I replied to Zelda. "Actually, I did, with Link's permission, as they were busy."

"Just out of curiosity, how many servants do you have?" Zelda asked.

"We have a butler, a maid, and servant who can do anything," I replied.

"We don't have a lot of time to go hire people," Link admitted

The White Knight made a smirking sound and Zelda glared at him. "Why?"

"Link had paperwork to complete and Aryll was arranging the house, so they couldn't do the hiring process."

Link shot me a You-owe-me-an-explanation-about-what's-going-on-look and nodded to Zelda. "It's true. I was busy with paperwork for several weeks."

Zelda frowned. "I don't remember giving you so much paperwork..."

Link shrugged. "I got it done either way."

Zelda looked a little upset. "You could have sent a letter about it Link, and I could have checked....:

Link merely nodded. "I'll keep that in mind next time, milady."

"Where's Raven?" Zelda asked.

"Who is Raven?" The Knight asked.

"Raven is Gerudo Valley so that she can learn to kill idiot soldiers effectively," Aryll stated calmly.

Link shot her a glare, but her comment went over Zelda and the White Knight's head, as they nodded. "That would be helpful in the future," Zelda stated calmly.

The White Knight scoffed. "I can defeat everyone for you with my pinky."

Oh great, I hate you.... I cursed silently. You're a total idiot for thinking that Aryll is referring to Bokogoblins and Skulltulas.

After looking at his watch, the White Knight rested a hand on Zelda's shoulder. "We need to go."

Zelda sighed. "I presume so. I'm sorry I wasn't able to stay long. Here." She handed Link a letter. "Please do consider the letter carefully. Goodbye Link and Aryll."

"Goodbye," Aryll said.

Link merely nodded.

Zelda and the White Knight got up and left. They left the mansion and when I heard the carriage noise fade away, I let out a deep breath and fell until a nearby chair.

"That was stressful," I said aloud.

"So was catching Ghirahim," Lexy stated as she entered she room unannounced.

"Good job Lexy," Shadow said as he fist bumped her, which was a custom of her land. "Now he's quiet."

"But I found some creepy things, and he rearranged a room. Oh! Forgot to give Vaati something." She pulled out her report and handed it to me. "Sorry."

"It's fine," I replied.

"Is there something you're not telling us Vaati?" Link asked.

"... You want to know what's going on?" I asked after a few seconds.

"Yes," Aryll said. "But first, I'm going to change. Be right back!" She dashed out of the room.

"Same here," Link said as he left.

"Take your time," I replied.

I wave my hand and the illusions disappeared. Lexy left the room for a few seconds and returned wearing a blue long sleeve t-shirt and black jeans. "You gonna tell them everything?" She asked.

"No," I replied. "Not yet, at least."

"You better hope that they don't kill you," Lexy muttered.

"If they do... Then I don't blame them."
