(THIS MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS TO DOCTOR WHO SEASON ONE AND POSSIBLY MORE. DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR SPOILERS)

If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of a lot of things. A LOT of things. One of which is Doctor Who. I caught up with the new Who over Thanksgiving break and am currently watching Classic Doctor Who, and I have to say there are a lot of things that annoy me about some of the fans I've encountered. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the most exciting and spontaneous fandoms there are, but it had its issues. Such as my pet peeve, people skipping the Ninth Doctor.

When I've asked people why they skipped the fantastic Christopher Eccleston's (my personal favorite) over, I've gotten so many answers. The most common are: "I can't find that season" "I was told to start with David Tennant/Matt Smith" "I didn't like him" and the WORST one "he's not cute".

Listen, I don't care if he's not cute. I don't care if you don't watch Classic Who, but if you're going to watch the new Doctor Who, start with Eccleston. He's an amazing Doctor and he deserves a chance. The Ninth Doctor is sassy, funny, downright heartbreaking, sweet, clever, and since it's the incarnation directly after the War Doctor, he's the most adamant to save as many people as possible. Chris is an amazing actor and I've gone back to watch season one more than I should've.

And if you try Nine and don't like him, watch the season anyway. It's only one season (which honestly disappointed me) and it's where everything is really explained. It's where he meets Rose. It's where we meet Jack and so many other characters, so many other enemies. If you don't watch season one for the Doctor, watch it for the knowledge. I'm watching the First Doctor right now and he's honestly not my favorite so far, but I'm giving him.

All I'm saying is, give Nine a chance. He's fantastic (let's see how many times I can use that catchphrase in this chapter) and he's the one who brought the show back from its hiatus in the first place. In the words of miss_melodypond on Instagram (edited to fit my profile):
"Don't skip Nine, skip Nine and you're dead. Whovians are fast, faster than you can believe.
Don't say crap about season 1, don't say Christopher Eccleston is a bad actor, and don't. Skip. Nine. Good luck."

I could go on forever about this honestly but I'm gonna stop now so I don't bore you or start typing in caps and bold... I'm just gonna go back to the corner now and rock back and forth as I cry over Supernatural not coming back until January 20. Later guys!
