2. Beginnings
"I'm Tony stark except you probably know who I am," Tony said confidently, and I pursed my lips. "Yeah, I've been told," I replied, thinking about Peggy. He gestured to the kid in the purple shirt, who in turn fixed his glasses. "This is Bruce Banner," Tony introduced. Banner have a small wave, blushing slightly when he gave Natasha a glance.
"He's my best friend. He may look like a nerd but if you bully him he turns into a gigantic green rage monster," Tony deadpanned, so I couldn't tell if he was joking. I turned to Bruce questionably, in which he rolled his eyes. "I think you mean the hulk," he sighed, showing me a picture on his phone.
"Jesus..." I whispered, my eyes glancing between him and the ferocious beast. "Ahh yes, the green one. He is quite destructive, is he not?" The blonde kid shouted, munching on a pop tart. "That's Thor," Natasha cleared up. "He's an alien," Clint finished.
I practically choked on my dry burger, "a what?" I managed. "I am of Asgard, prince in fact," Thor beamed, giving me a smirk. "Isn't Thor from mytholo-"
"Get used to it," Nat interrupted, before looking across the hall. "There she is... Peggy Carter. Shields golden girl for the field division," Natasha murmured. I followed Natasha's green eyes across the room, spotting Peggy's dazzling aura in a second. "Peggy! Hey, Peggy!" I shouted from across the room. Her eyes seemed to light up, before she scurried over.
"Hey hey hey, whatcha doing? You're already reached your privilege for sitting here," Tony hissed from across the table. I ignored him, pulling a chair up for her. "Thanks Steve," she gushed, looking everyone in the eye. "Stark," she murmured. "Carter," he grunted. "Am I missing something?" I whispered, and the entire group seemed to stiffen. "Stark asked me out once, and I rejected him," Peggy said simply, giving a small smile. "Woah woah woah," Tony chuckled, "more like declined an unbeatable offer,"
"Oh plea-" Peggy started, sarcasm dripping off her words, "anyway, I've moved on," Tony cut in. "I'm now dating pepper," he finished, a soft tender glint in his eyes. Peggy turned away from Tony, "anyway Steve. I was wondering if you wanted to do something on Saturday? Maybe could I get your phone number?" She asked hopefully. I scratched the back of my head sheepishly. "I don't have a phone..." I confessed.
"What? It's the 21st century, buddy," Bruce said, giving me a dumbfounded look. "Even I have that strange box. Annoying, yet helpful," Thor belted. "I like things the way they were back then. When everyone wasn't so distracted," I explained, now looking at Peggy. "So they could finally see what was in front of them,"
Her lips began to upturn in a smile, but my attention was directed away. "What are you, from the 40's?" Tony asked in confusion. "You sound like a World War Two captain. Frozen in time, huh Capsicle?" He joked, before tossing me something. I caught it without a flinch. "Wha-"
"It's a phone," Tony said. "I got you covered,"
I gave a thankful smile, and then ran off to my next class.

I nervously waited outside the roller skating arena, my hands sweating as I awaited Peggy Carter's arrival. My soft cotton shirt hugged my skin as I tightened the beige jacket closer to my body. The brisk air nipped at my ears. That's when I saw her.
It was like in one of those movies when everything slows down. The buildings and the lights all blurred out until there was only Peggy Carter. Only Peggy Carter, the beautiful girl wrapped up in a tornado of fire. Her lips as red as lava, and a glare that would send monsters back to their caves. Only Peggy Carter, the girl to decline the schools golden boy and choose me, the kid from Brooklyn who kept fighting in alleys. Only Peggy Carter, who's hair was like melting chocolate, and eyes that would go on forever.
Though I had just met her, Peggy Carter had gotten me wrapped up in a spell.
"Steve!" She called out, waving a hand up. I copied her move with a smile. Her red trench coat billowed behind her, revealing a black high waisted knee length skirt, paired with a simple white blouse. "I'm not the only old fashioned one, am I?" I chuckled, and she playfully punched my arm. "Maybe that's why you're the lucky guy to earn this date," she smiled, already walking into the arena. "Aren't you coming?" She called back.

My white knuckles grasped the chilling pole, as my feet pleaded to stay on the ground. The skating rink was filled with people, all whizzing by like pros, seemingly mocking my so far skateless night. "I won't let you fall Rogers," Peggy assured me, skating closer. She was completely mesmerizing as she moved. The lights seemed to point only to her, and it was hard to loose such a wonderful figure in a crowd.
"I think I'll just- whoa- stay right here," I chuckled nervously, praying to god I don't fall on my face. Peggy's face fell a little bit, but still have me a sad smile. "I'll make you a deal," she complied, "I do one more lap alone, but then you have to join me,"
I sighed, losing myself in her puppy dog eyes. "I- er- just- fine," I sputtered, her face lighting up in a grin. "See you soon," she rushed, before barreling off, her skirt swishing in her momentum. I looked at the other skaters, trying to learn the same, when something caught my eye. At a table, Natasha and Bruce sat together. Alone.
And... Giggling?
"Hey," Peggy said out of breath, just as the lights dimmed. "Okay now, couples dance! We've got a special song playing tonight," the DJ announced. A slow 40's tune played over the speakers. Peggy took my hand, "like it?"
"I love it,"
