EPISODE THREE-

___

The sound of running footsteps was heard as Josie turned her head to see Tai. "Guys! Guys, there's a lake. There's a lake," she slowly repeated her words as she came to a stop in front of them. "I saw it from that hill." She pointed to the direction of the hill she was talking about. "It looks about four or five miles away."

That wasn't that bad... If they headed there now they could make it. "Do you think we could hike it?" Shauna asked, the hope clear in her voice. "It's pretty rocky, but yeah." This wa good news. They were low on water and if they were closer to a lake... they could have more.

Jackie quickly stood up. "Uh, we, uh, we can't... we can't just leave." Jackie, clearly against this idea, declared on staying. "We've got two days of water, tops. And then what? Just sit around and die?" Taissa questioned, clearly not wanting to stay at the plane. And Josie didn't either.

"What if the rescue team comes?" Jackie's voice was panicked. She was clearly scared of not winning on this argument. "Do you think they're taking their time on purpose?" Tai paused, looking around at everyone who said nothing. "If they knew where we were, they would be here already."

They all hated to admit but Tai was right. Josie knew that. "You don't know that." Even if Jackie kept trying to make them think different. "What do you think coach?" Tai turned away from Jackie and looked to coach, making everyone do the same.

"I don't, I don't know. Uh, I mean," Coach sounded unsure, worried. "You'd have to leave me behind, I guess, but whatever."

"We could make you a stretcher." Tai blurted out. And she had a point. They could make him one. They had the martials. "Oh, okay." Jackie laughed, "Seriously. If we take turns carrying it-"

"No! This-this is bullshit. I say no. Okay? No way." Josie looked to Jackie, before back to Tai. "Let's put it to a vote. All in favor of waiting here?" Jackie was the first to raise her hand. Then Lottie did, Lucia did too and a couple others. Josie didn't. Just because her sister wanted to stay didn't mean she wanted to.

"All in favor of the lake?" Josie and everyone who hadn't already raised there hand did. Shauna being the last to do so. "Then it's settled. Grab your shit." Josie nodded, going to walk off to grab her stuff. And because she did,

She didn't see Lucia started to walk after Jackie.

"Sorry, that we can't stay. I know you really wanted to." Lucia apologized to Jackie as she walked after her, even if it wasn't her fault. The brown haired girl turned to Lucia with a small smile.

"Thanks Lucia. You believe me on rescue showing up, right? You agree that they're gonna come get us?"Jackie suddenly asked making Lucia nod.

"Yeah, of course."

___

They had been walking for a while. Josie was behind Shauna. Making her hear everything she said to Tai. She watched as Shauna walk off before she could follow after, Tai started talking to her.

"Thanks. For agreeing with me.. Even though Jackie's your sister and then Lucia voted with her too, you still voted for the lake." Josie didn't want to follow Jackie around all the time. She didn't want to be controlled by her decisions.

"Well for the record, we need more water and if I'm going to die out here, I would prefer it not be by the plane. Also, don't listen to Shauna. She also doesn't know what she's talking about."

____

"This shit is way longer than four miles. What if we missed it?" They had been walking for way longer than they thought, Josie was getting tired and so were a couple of the others. "From the angle of the sun, it looked just left of due north." Taissa told them all, as she looked towards the sun.

Then Jackie made a comment. "Oh, great. 'Left.' That's a precise way of doing it." She just had to say something. Jackie and That's banter just gave Josie a headache. She was tired of it. "I'm not a fucking cartographer."

"Or maybe you saw a mirage." Jackie rebuked making Josie roll her eyes and turn to her. "Jackie, leave it alone." When Josie turned back she noticed Van came to a stop. "Oh shit. Oh, hell yeah, bitches!" She cheered when everyone else noticed the lake, Van started to run down the hill and everyone followed after.

Van wa the first to get into the lake. "Guys, come in! It feels fucking great!" She engorged everyone to come in making most of everyone run in. Josie didn't want to go all the way in so, she stayed near the shore with Jackie, Mari and Nat.

"Oh, fuck, its freezing." Jackie blurted out when she walked into the water. Next thing she knew she heard Nat cursing because of Travis splashing water on her. "Is Travis actually, hot?" Mari spoke up making Josie shake her head with a disgusted face.

"It's been three days. You guys can't be that desperate." Jackie's words sounded disgusted. "I think I just puked in my mouth because of that comment, Mari." Josie shook her head at the girl.

____

Josie was sitting outside of the water talking to Lucia. "So. What's going on between you and Lottie?" Lucia interrogated Josie, and the question shocked her. "What- What do you mean?"

Lucia didn't know. And it's not that she didn't want to tell Lucia it's just... she hadn't. "I keep seeing you guys sneak off. And yeah you guys are friends but... I mean, there's obviously something there."

Josie didn't get to answer, because the sound of Lottie yelling at all of them grab her attention. "Look." Josie looked to the direction Lottie wa pointing at. She couldn't quite tell what it was. "Guys, there's something on the hill!" Van shouted, running out of the water.

Saying they should check it, everyone who wa in the water ran out and Josie and Lucia were getting up now.

____

It didn't take them long to get to what they saw. "Guys, it's here!" Shauna shouted making everyone run over to it. It was a cabin. Josie followed after, "I don't see anybody." Jackie started banging on the door, asking if anyone wants there. Tai doing the same.

Then Jackie got the door open, making everyone walk in. "Hello? Is anyone here?" But it looked like people hadn't been here in years. "Maybe they just went on a hike?"

"Yeah.Like a decade ago." Or even longer than that. Josie started to look around as Jackie complained about the smell. "You guys, check the pantry, see if there's any food. Everyone else, look around for stuff we can use. First aid, flashlights, tools." Tai started ordering everyone around, to which Josie nodded too.

"Food. Oh, yeah." Josie turned around to see Jackie walking out of the pantry. "What the hell? Jackie, that's not your personal buffet." Jackie was already opening the can she was holding. But as soon as she did, she was dropping it and a bunch of old rotten fruits fell out.

Jackie quickly look to Tai, "See, this is why we should have stayed in the plane!" Jackie shouted and they were back on this topic. "Yeah, well, we didn't." Van started, tired of Jackie's shit making the girl turn to her. "So this is helping how exactly?" It wasn't, fighting wasn't helping at all. It just annoyed everyone and gave Josie a headache.

"This is a fucking nightmare." It wa the last thing they heard from Jackie before she stormed off, going outside.

___

They had been looking around the cabin for a little longer since Jackie had stormed off. Josie was worried but it's not like she had gone far. She should be fine. Her mind was dragged away from her thoughts when Van walked out of the room, "Well, hello!" She suddenly dropped a bunch of dusty magazines on the table, making Josie look over.

"Don't worry, guys. We might be stuck in the middle of nowhere, but, hey, at least there's porn." Josie shook her head, "Oh my god, why?" The girl mumbled even though she had a slight smile on her face as some of the other girls walked over. "Hey, this guy kind of looks like you, Flex." Mari looked to Travis who was also kinda looking at the magazines.

"If only any of you actually looked like her." Travis shot back at the girl, "Okay. Yeah. Very funny." Van responded, clearly being sarcastic. Then another one of the other girls spoke up, "Do guys, like, actually jerk off to this stuff?" She looked up at Travis.

"Nah, we- we hate that shit. You know, you can't even tell what her favorite book is. " Travis told them before turning and walking away making Mari flip him off.

_____

Josie and Lottie had gone for a walk. She wanted to tell Lottie how she wa pretty sure Lucia was on to them and Lottie wanted to get away from the cabin because she felt like something was off and they were currently on their way back. "I don't want to go back." Lottie sighed as Josie held her hand, with the arm that wasn't broken. "If we don't go back, we have nowhere to sleep."

Lottie didn't mind going back if Josie was with her. They walked in silence until Josie finally brought it up. "I think Lucia is on to us."

Lottie looked to Josie at that. It didn't fully surprise her. Lucia was smart and Josie wa her best friend. Plus, they hadn't been that careful lately. "Really?" The brunette nodded. "She asked what wa going on with us. Said she noticed us sneaking off lately."

"I guess we haven't been that careful lately. Kinda slips your mind when you're stuck in the woods." Lottie tried to make a joke and Josie couldn't help but smile at it. "You can tell her if you want." That shocked Lottie. Lottie has been the one who said they should keep it a secret. Especially after Van and Tai found out.

She didn't get a chance to answer because they were back at camp and saw coach Ben being slightly picked up by Misty, who looked like she was trying to comfort him.
