Serena's POV

It was dark. Everything was black, no light to be spotted. There was nothing. No walls, no floor, nothing. Was I asleep? I was flying through a big space of nowhere, that's all I know. What even happened?

Wait...

What is this?

This scent.

It started smelling really good. I couldn't describe the scent, but it was good. It was sweet, fresh. Suddenly, when I looked above me, there was a light to be spotted, starlike. A bright point, in the middle of nowhere. Yes I thought. That's where the scent comes from. I didn't know how, but I wanted to reach this light. I really wanted to reach it. I couldn't jump, there was no floor, I couldn't swim, there was no water, I couldn't climb, there was no leader. All I could do, was want. I want to reach it! I want to get out of this hell!

I don't know if I got closer to the light, or the light became bigger. All I remember, was being sucked into the bright whole.

The next thing I knew: I woke up in a hospital.

Even though my vision was still blurry, I could recognize the hospital room with my other senses. It smelled like illness, I heard weird beeping sounds, probably my pulse, and this bed didn't feel like mine. Another thing I felt: Someone was sitting on the bed.

My vision starting sharpening a bit. I saw short hair, and a man-like build body, so I figured it must be a boy. The hair was raven black. His back was turned to me. It looked like he was typing something into his phone, so he didn't notice me waking up.

After my vision was completely sharp again, I could see Ash for one second, but the next one, the light overwhelmed me and my head felt like it just got a shock, so I groaned in pain. I lifted my hand and covered my eyes with it.

"Hey sleepyhead." he said, which wasn't helpful. "Light. Hurts." was all I was capable to say, but Ash got the message and closed the curtains. After that, he bent over me a bit, pressing the red button to inform the nurse that I woke up. I recognized his scent. It was the one from the light. I didn't notice he smelled so good before.

"Did you just sniff me?"

he asked. Oops. "What? No!" I said, suddenly able to control my whole body again. He sighed and let himself fall on a chair next to my bed. "So, you probably wanna know what happened?" he asked and I nodded in response. He began telling me what happened.

Seven hours ago (Ash's POV):

"You alright princess?" I asked her, but her response was unexpected. It was a slow process, but it felt so fast. Her eyes rolled back and she lost all the color in her face, until she then collapsed into my arms. "Sere? Serena?" I called out for her, but no response. Suddenly, I realized her temperature was really high and that she was breathing heavily, so I just acted on instinct. I picked her up and quickly carried her to the couch in the staff room, trying to to draw any attention to us.

Misty called the ambulance that arrived around ten minutes later. Three sanitaries came inside, two of them preparing something to carry her on, the other one checking on her. "What exactly happened?" he asked and I told him about you collapsing and your temperature. "Okay then, could you call her family?" he asked.

"Her family is complicated" I answered and he raised his eyebrow. "Young boy, I'm afraid you'll still have to call them." he said in a warning, threatening tone. "Listen, dude, I don't know where that tone of yours just came from, but I want you to shut up, thank you." I answered. All I cared about right now was Serena. After the other two sanitaries were done preparing the carry, I picked Sere up laid her down carefully.

They disappeared outside the cafe with Serena and I made my way to find Misty. She was in the staff room. "Misty, I know I already was late today, but would it be okay if I left now?" I asked. She first looked at me like 'are you serious right know?', but after she understood why I wanted to leave she smiled and nodded in response. "Take good care of her. See ya."

I didn't change or anything. I made my way straight to my car, and drove to the hospital. When I arrived, I asked the secretary at the desk for Serena and she told me on which floor and which room she was, so I immediately made my way to her.

When I was in front of her room, I saw two young nurses, talking in front of the room. "Hi, is Serena here?" I asked in a cool tone, unintentionally. "Eh, y-yeah." one of them answered, but just when I was about to enter the room, one of them gripped my wirst and stopped me. "Are you a family member?" she asked. "No, but I'm everything she has right now." was my answer,  and I entered the room. The nurses didn't stop me.

There she was.

A sleeping Sere. She looked so peaceful, so innocent. There was a small table with two chairs on each side, so I pulled one of the chairs away and put it next to Serena's bed, so I could sit next to her.

Presence (Serena's POV):

"Thank you." I spoke relieved. "But you're seriously dumb, you know that? You shouldn't have stressed yourself out so much." he answered, making me blush in embarrassment and look down so I didn't have to look at his face. Suddenly, he leaned a bit forward, still sitting on his chair, and leaned his head against the side of my hip. He sighed. "Ugh, I'm just glad you're okay now."

"I'm fine. Thanks again, by the way. For everything."

Sighing, he got up from his chair and went over to the door. Before leaving, he stopped. "No problem princess, see ya." he said and left. Will he ever drop his cool?

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Come in." I shouted and the door opened. It was the doctor. "Ah, yes. Hello Miss Yvonne. How's it going?" he asked and I smiled. "Never felt better." I answered, making him laugh. "I'm glad that I can tell you you're totally fine. You just worked too much and totally stressed yourself out. People at your age shouldn't work so hard, you're still growing too, so I want you to slow down a bit." he told me and I nodded to show him I understood. "You can leave today. We already called your aunt, she said she would come around 9 pm. Stay well, Miss Yvonne." he told me and left the room.

Oh Oh.

I totally forgot about Palermo. Who would have guessed I'd see hell before death could catch me?

Omgggg ur comments were so cute I needed to write again. I reaaaalllyyyy wasn't in the mood to read everything again and look for mistakes, so I'm sorry if u find any. :3 Tbh, this chapter is kind of boring, and I'm sorry about that, but what was I supposed to do :D? I was about do make Serena have a intracelebral hemorrhage (brain bleeding), but then I was like "nah, too much stress, that's not what the story is about, DUH"
