Visiting Sonic

It was now Monday morning, and Garrett & Sunset were getting ready for school after eating breakfast. "Hey Dad, I'm gonna meet up with Starlight to work on homework with her," said Garrett as he double checked his backpack and looked to see how much cash he had. He had enough to buy a hot dog or two. "Well alright then," said Ray, "just be sure to let us know when you'll be back." Garrett nodded and said, "thanks Dad. Will do." Ray gave his son an encouraging thumbs up. "You two have a good day at school!" said June. "We will, Mom!" Sunset replied, "love ya, bye!" Once the siblings got outside and got on Sunset's motorcycle, Sunset asked, "you're totally gonna visit Sonic, aren't you?"

"Yeah, pretty much," admitted Garrett, "I mean, I'd tell them about Sonic. I just have to wonder if they'd be able to believe me or take me seriously if I told them..." Sunset shrugged and said, "you have a point. I guess Mom and Dad would have a hard time believing the existence of an extraterrestrial humanoid hedgehog." She started the motorcycle and rode all the way to the school. Once they made it to the school, Garrett got off the motorcycle. "It's still kind of you to look out for Sonic," said Sunset, "it might be a good way for you to bond with my boyfriend too." Garrett smiled and said, "and Leo too." Speaking of Leo, he, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey walked in. "Hey Garrett, what's happening?" Michelangelo asked, smiling. Garret replied, "things are good. How are things going with Sonic?"

"Sonic's warming up to his new home," said Mikey, "I'm even giving him my old nunchucks to use." Garrett smiled and said, "nice." He gave the thumbs up. Suddenly, Mikey's girlfriend, Pinkie Pie walked in and said, "Hi Mikey!" The youngest brother smiled and said, "that's my cue to exit stage left, dude. Heya Pinks." Garrett smiled as the Hamato Brothers met up with their girlfriends. Garrett smiled as they interacted with each other. He had to admit, Leo and Twilight made a cute couple. Ivy walked in with Fluttershy and said, "Hey Garrett. Fluttershy and I heard you hung out with Starlight." Garrett chuckled and said, "the rumors were true." Fluttershy giggled and asked, "did you have fun?" Garrett smiled and said, "yeah, I did." For the rest of the day, Garrett did his usual school routines, all while thinking about Sonic and his feelings for Starlight. The school day rushed by, and soon school was out. Garrett was getting his stuff out of his locker when Starlight walked in. "Oh hey Starlight," said Garrett as he smiled and blushed. "Hey Garrett," said Starlight as she blushed, "you, uh, planning on visiting Sonic?"

"Yeah, I was gonna buy him some hot dogs in case he was hungry," said Garrett. "Mind if I take you there?" Starlight asked, "I want to give Sonic something since his shoes look mismatched and worn out..." Garrett really liked Starlight and wanted to spend more time with her. "Sure," said Garrett, "I don't mind. And neither would Sonic." Starlight smiled and said, "Great! Thanks Garrett." On the inside, Starlight was excited and over the moon. They got into Starlight's car and started driving. Garrett stopped at a hot dog stand to buy two hot dogs. The hot dog guy offered a discount to make the hot dogs into chili dogs. Garrett felt it was an offer he couldn't refuse and took it. Once he had the two chili dogs on his lap, the car started again. "You sure he'll like those?" Starlight asked, looking at the chili dogs. "Maybe he will," said Garrett, "it doesn't hurt to try new things every now and then." Starlight chuckled and said, "fair enough." They then made it to the Hamato household and came in. They went to the dojo and saw Splinter training Sonic in the ways of certain combat techniques. They were finishing up. "Hey Master Splinter, hey Sonic," said Garrett as he and Starlight waved hello. "That is enough for today," said Splinter, "it is nice to see you, Garrett and Starlight."

"It's nice to see you too Mr. Hamato," replied Starlight, "we wanted to see how Sonic's doing." Sonic smiled and said, "I'm doing pretty well. Thanks for checking up on me." Splinter went to the exit and said, "I will leave you be." Once Splinter left, Starlight got out a bag and said, "hey Sonic, I wanted to give you something new." Out of the bag, Starlight pulled out a pair of red sneakers with white streaks. "These are some old shoes I once gave to my teddy bear, and I figured you might like them," said Starlight. Sonic ran to Starlight and looked at the sneakers. "They're for me?" Sonic asked, getting excited. "They sure are," said Starlight as she offered them to the hedgehog. "Nobody's ever given me anything before," said Sonic, "thank you so much, Starlight!" He took off his old shoes, running to the trashcan to throw them out. He ran back and tried on the red and white shoes. He looked at his new shoes in amazement. "How do I look?" he asked. Garrett gave the thumbs up and said. "it definitely suits you." Starlight smiled with pride. "I figured you'd be hungry," said Garrett as he offered the food. "What are those?" Sonic asked curiously. "They're a chili dog," explained Garrett, "it's basically chili on top of a hot dog." Sonic tilted his head and asked, "is the hot dog made from actual dogs?"

"Oh no, not literally," said Garrett, "still, you should try it." Sonic took the chili dog, and took a bite. The moment he tasted, Sonic's eyes widened. His taste buds felt a brand new sensation! Never had he tasted something so delicious! He then wolfed down the chili dog in less than five seconds. "Oh my gosh, that is the best thing I've ever tried so far!" Sonic said, jumping up and down with excitement. "Glad you like it," said Garrett, "you want the next one?" Sonic nodded excitedly and said, "Yes please!" Garrett gave Sonic the second chili dog, and the hedgehog wolfed down the second one just as fast. Garrett was glad to know that Sonic loved that chili dog. Garrett and Starlight spent most of that time doing their homework while spending quality time with Sonic, bonding with him. "I have a friend who's just as fast as you are," said Starlight. "Really? What's her name?" Sonic asked. "Her name's Rainbow Dash," said Starlight, "she's a sports tomboy. You'd like her." She showed Sonic a picture of Rainbow Dash, and Sonic looked at her. "I like her hair," said Sonic, "she's very pretty. I'd like to meet her one day!" Garrett smiled and said, "I think we could arrange that." How Dash would react to meeting Sonic, Garrett and Starlight did not know.
