After Robotnik was defeated, things changed for the better. Sonic was accepted by everyone in Canterlot City. Sonic and Rainbow Dash started a romantic relationship together. As for Garrett, he knew life was too short, and so he and Starlight pursued their romantic relationship as well. Four weeks passed by, and Garrett and Starlight decided to do a double date with Sonic and Rainbow. They decided to go to a beach in Hawaii. "This is definitely relaxing," said Starlight. "Sure is," said Garrett, "I'm glad to know Mom and Dad accepted Sonic as our friend." He held Starlight's hand. "Me too," said Starlight, "it's pretty cool getting to relax in Hawaii with my handsome boyfriend." Garrett blushed, causing her to giggle. "I just have to wonder," said Garrett, "how long have you had a crush on me?" Starlight fidgeted with her hair and admitted, "since I met your sister. I honestly thought you were cute, but I wasn't sure how Sunset would react if she knew I liked you." Garrett smiled and said, "well, I think you and Sonic came at just the right time." Starlight smiled and said, "I'm glad Sonic and I could help you get over Twilight. You deserve to be happy." She held Garrett's hand. "Thank you for everything Starlight Glimmer," said Garrett, "I love you." Starlight smiled and said, "I love you too, Garrett Shimmer."
