As Garrett went outside, his hands shook while holding the hunting rifle. He walked on over into the garage, opening it. He turned on the light to see if there was anything that caused this bump. What he saw was an anthropomorphic humanoid hedgehog with blue fur. He was less than three feet tall, had yellow green eyes, wore white gloves and mismatching shoes. This was Sonic. Garrett was at a loss for words. This was the thing that went bump in Starlight's garage? The alien looked at Garrett and said, "uh... Hi." That's when Garrett screamed in terror and confusion. Sonic panicked for only a second and then quickly ran over and covered Garrett's mouth and quickly said, "don't scream, don't scream!" Garrett's screams were muffled, and he soon stopped screaming as he took a good look at Sonic. "I'm not gonna hurt ya." Sonic slowly said, "when I uncover your mouth, do you promise not to scream?" Garrett peacefully nodded. Sonic then uncovered Garrett's mouth, and ran back to the ground. Garrett breathed intensely and asked, "what the hell are you?"

"Okay, this is going to sound crazy, but I'm not from around here," explained Sonic. "No kidding," said Garrett, "are you some sort of alien?" Sonic shrugged and said, "technically... Yes I am. My name's Sonic. Now just put down that hunting gun, I mean you no harm. I'm not going to probe ya." Garrett nodded and said, "okay Sonic, I'm trusting you on this... No tricks now." Sonic gave the A-OK sign with his fingers, and Garrett carefully put the hunting rifle down on the ground. "Alright, well before I introduce myself I want to apologize for my reckless behavior," said Garrett. "Hey, it's no problem," said Sonic, "everyone has those fight or flight instincts."

Suddenly, Garrett could hear Starlight call out to him behind him as she said, "Garrett? Are you okay? You didn't get hurt, did you?" She then walked into the garage, this time wearing flip-flops. "Garrett?" She asked, noticing Garrett and Sonic. Her eyes widened at the sight of the blue furred extra-terrestrial hedgehog humanoid. She wasn't sure how to react. "Hi, I'm Sonic," said the hedgehog, "don't freak out, I'm totally not gonna probe you or your boyfriend." The minute Sonic talked, Starlight couldn't take it anymore. "Oh... Oh my..." she weakly said, then she started to faint, falling back. Garrett thought fast and caught Starlight in time. "Gee, sorry I made your girlfriend faint," said Sonic. "We're not in a relationship," said Garrett, "not yet anyway... look Sonic, I'm going to carry Starlight back to her house, can you carry the rifle? We gotta put it back." Sonic picked up the rifle and said, "sure thing. I'm really sorry for unintentionally scaring you two." Garrett picked Starlight and carried her bridal style into her house while Sonic followed them. Once they were inside, Garrett then gently laid Starlight on the couch, taking her flip-flops off for her. Garrett then took the rifle and placed it back where he found it. "So I take it your name's Garrett?" Sonic asked. "Yes I am," said Garrett, "and I would certainly like to know more about you, Sonic. Especially where you're from and what you're doing here."
