'What the hell!?' I thought as I stared at the castle in front of me. 'This was just the school a moment ago!'

"Look! It's the castle from yesterday!" I heard Sakamoto exclaim, the two males then ran ahead to the entrance of the castle. I slowly followed them, hiding behind a few wooden barrels. "We made it back. That means what happened yesterday was for real too." Suddenly Sakamoto jumped backed a bit.

"Yeargh! Those clothes!" I couldn't see Amamiya-kun because of where I was hiding, so I had no idea what Sakamoto was talking about. "That happened last time too huh!? What's with that outfit!?"

"You jelly?" I smiled when I heard Amamiya-kun's voice say those words.

"I-I ain't jealous!" Sakamoto denied. "What's going on here!? This makes no effin' sense at all." He then says kicking the ground.

"Hey!" I heard another voice call out. I couldn't recognize it, I let my head peaked from my hiding spot a bit more to see some creature run towards the two males. I was also able to see Amamiya-kun's outfit, it looked good in my opinion.

"Stop making a commotion." The creature said, crossing it's arms at Sakamoto. He looked surprised at the little creature.

"Ah, you!?"

"The shadows started acting up, so I cane here wondering what it could be." The creature looked the other way in thought. "To think you guys would come back to the entrance when you barely managed to escape."

'Barely managed to escape? Is this place dangerous!?' I thought, slightly panicking inside. 'Does that mean those rumors-'

"What is this place? Is this the school?" Sakamoto asked the creature, bringing me out of my thoughts in the process.

"That's right."

"But it's a castle!"

"This castle is the school." The creature explained. "But only to this castle's ruler."

"The castle's ruler?" Both males questioned.

"I think you called him Kamoshida? It's how his distorted heart views the school." My eyes widened.

'Kamoshida? I don't understand.'

"Distorted?" Sakamoto paused for a moment before he exclaimed. "Explain it in a way that makes sense!"

The creature sighed. "I shouldn't have expected a moron to get it."

"What'd you say!?" Sakamoto exclaimed. Suddenly a loud scream erupted from inside the castle, I winced at how painful it sounded. "What was that!?"

"It must be the slaves captive here." The creature explained, having me panic inside.

"For real!?" Another agonizing scream rang out. "Oh shit, it's for real."

'No fucking shit Sakamoto.' I thought as I tried not to let out a sound from the screams frightening me.

"We saw other guys held captive here yesterday. I'm pretty sure they're from our school." Sakamoto said to the creature.

"Most likely on Kamoshida's orders. It's nothing out of the ordinary, it's like that every day here."

'Kamoshida-sensei's orders? Does this have to do with those abuse rumors? That could explain why I hear weird things from the gym, and the amount of injuries the volleyball team has.' I thought, thinking back.

"That son of a bitch!" I heard Sakamoto exclaim, bringing me out of my thoughts again.

"Ryuji?" The creature and Amamiya-kun called out.

"This is bullshit!" Sakamoto then ran into one of the door of the castle shouting, "You hear me Kamoshida!?"

"Doing that isn't going to open it you know." The creature said lowly, I was still able to hear it though. "Still, it seems you have your reasons."

"Hey, Monamona!" Sakamoto called the creature as he walked back from the entrance.

"It's Morgana!"

"Do you know where those voices are comin' from?" He asked.

"You want me to take you to them?" The creature, who I knew was called Morgana now, asked. "Well, I guess I could guide you there. But only if he comes with us." It gestured to Amamiya-kun.

"What? Why me?" Amamiya-kun asked.

"I just want to get a better look at your powers." It explained. "Even if you don't agree, I bet this guy'll go on even if he has to do it alone. Are you gonna leave him?"

"I never said that."

"It's settled then!"

"For real!? Thanks man." Sakamoto said.

"All right, let's do this. Follow me!" With that the two males followed Morgana to a ventilation shaft before climbing into the school castle.

I got out of my hiding spot and walked to where they were. After contemplating on what to do I came to the conclusion to follow them. Grabbing a barrel, I used it to climb into the structure. Looking into the room where the shaft lead to I could see the two males and Morgana exiting the room. I followed after them, but stayed in the room when they went down the hall into the castle's entrance hall. When they continued straight into another hall I then stepped out of the room and followed. As I ran I noticed that the castle was shifting, causing me the stop and see it shift into the school. It was only for a moment before it shifted back into the castle.

"Okay that's weird." I say as I go back to following the three. I go down some stairs to see some weird place that has ravines running through it. Just as I got off the last step I could see the three hiding behind a gate, I hid behind the wall next to the stairs so I wouldn't get caught.

"Darn, I had a feeling there would be guards here." I heard Morgana mutter, being closer than last time I was able to see that it had cat-like ears and a tail. I will admit that it's adorable. It told Amamiya-kun to ambush the guard, the two ran up while Sakamoto stayed behind. I couldn't really see what was happening but I could hear something that sounded like demonic voices screaming in pain.

'What are they doing!? Are they hurting people!?' I shakenly thought, but then reminded myself of the cat-like creature. 'No way Amamiya-kun would do that! Even with those rumors of him, he never seemed like the kind of person to attack someone. Is it possible that they're attacking other creatures?'

"Let's go Ryuji." I heard Amamiya-kun say to the blond male, making him come out of hiding and follow the other two. I ran to the gate to see them running over a wooden bridge. From where I was, I couldn't hear them but I could see them look at something before Sakamoto ran in a direction. After a few seconds he ran back to the other two and all three ran, from what I could guess, into a room. I took my chance to run across the wooden bridge when I heard footsteps heading my way. In a panic, I quickly hid behind some crates and barrels.

Eventually the footsteps were next to me, I peeked to see humanoid figure. It looked like someone wearing a suit of armor, with a weird crying metal mask. I froze as they turned their head in my direction, the eyes of the mask boreing into my soul almost. I knew it directly looked at me, yet what surprised me was that it turn around and walked away.

"See anything?" I heard a unfamiliar voice ask. It echoed a bit, probably because of the suit of armor.

"Thought I did." Another similar voice replied. I was puzzled by how they didn't see me, then it made sense when I looked at myself. The shadows created by the crates and barrels seemed to have expanded, my uniform and skin also seemed to have dimmed to blend in with the shadows.

"Hm, I thought I just heard something move over here. Guess it was my imagination."

"And what of the slaves?" A third similar voice asked.

"They're all in the training hall, I'd assume they're screaming in pain by now."

"Very well. By the way, I heard we may have intrudes around. Stay on your guard." With that I heard a set of footsteps leave in the opposite direction than what I saw two ran. I then heard a door opened and looked to see Amamiya-kun, Sakamoto, and Morgana walking out.

"They said trainin' hall, right?" Sakamoto asked.

"I think that's just a little further ahead." Morgana confirmed. "Let's go." The three then continued on ahead, with me following a few feet away. They soon stopped to, what I could guess, defeat another guard before running again. When they walked behind a barred gate.

"The trainin' hall's up ahead, right?" I heard Sakamoto ask.

"Yeah, it's a little further." Morgana confirmed. "Make sure you watch out for any guards along the way." I waited for a couple of minutes before following them inside, seeing them run ahead. After running for a little bit, the three stopped, causing me to hide behind crates that's exactly next to them.

"Shoot, I had a feeling there would be a lot of enemies. It'd be impossible to dodge all of them." I heard Morgana mutter.

"Then, what do we do? Should we try and take'em down like before?" Sakamoto asked.

"It's not that simple. We still have a long way to go, so we should be conserving energy."

"I-I see, sorry." I could hear Sakamoto lightly kick the ground. "Damnit, I wish I could fight. I'd at least be able to help out a little bit. But all I got is this toy from earlier, I'm such a loser."

"Huh? Do you mean that gun?" My eyes widen at Morgana's words.

'A gun!? Wait Sakamoto said it was a toy, so it's probably like those at the model shop.' I thought, thinking back to when I accidentally wondered into a model gun shop one time.

"Yeah. It looks real n' all, but it doesn't shoot anything." Sakamoto confirmed. Causing me to almost sigh in relief, I never liked the sound of a gun.

"I see. Well, there is a way." Morgana starts off. "Ok, we'll use that to take down the enemies!"

"What!? Were you listenin' to me? It don't even shoot pellets!"

"Don't worry, I'm sure this'll work. Attack away, Frizzy Hair!"

"Leave it to me." I heard Amamiya-kun say. I just realized that his voice sounds a bit deeper, it kind of made me turn a bit red at the sound of his voice.

"Wait, dude! I keep sayin', it's not gonna fire anything!" Sakamoto called out as I heard Amamiya-kun's running footsteps. I kept still from where I was but I suddenly heard gunshots, causing me to almost let out a gasp in surprise. I covered my mouth as I heard more gunshots, making me wince from the loud sounds.

"Whoa! Did that toy gun just shoot real freakin' bullets!?" I heard Sakamoto exclaim in shock as I looked around the crate to see him run ahead to the other two.

"This is a cognitive world." Morgana stated. "As long as our opponent sees it as real, it becomes such. It's a good thing it's realistic-looking."

'"Cognitive world"? So basically what the heart or mind perceives? I wonder if that's why I've been constantly covered in shadows.' I thought as I looked at my shadowy self.

"I don't get it." Sakamoto admitted.

"I wasn't expecting someone with your brains to understand." Morgana said in what I could guess a teasing or cocky tone. "How about you, Frizzy Hair? Did you get what I said?"

"Not at all."

"Maybe I was expecting too much." Morgana mumbled.

"Wait, if it's better havin' something realistic, why do you got that slingshot!?" I raised my eyebrows at Sakamoto's words. Since he's talking to a walking cat-like creature, I could understand that the logic in this world is not a the same as the real world. "And it was just as strong as a goddamn gun! What about your whole cognitive whatever!?"

"W-well, um." Morgana sighed. "Fine, you can choose to understand it however you want."

"He totally dodged my question." Sakamoto sighed. The three then started to run down the hall. I decided to wait a minute before following them, making many turns and hiding behind crates and barrels when Amamiya-kun and Morgana fought against guards. I hid behind a corner as the three ran through wooden double doors. I started to head through them as I could see them run ahead and disappear behind another set of doors.

"Kamoshida's Training Hall of Love? What kind of name is that?" I ask out loud as I was alone for a moment. I looked around the pink tinted room, when seeing nothing of interest I could hear footsteps leaving my general area, I slowly opened the door to see the three running ahead. As I went through the doorway I accidentally let out a gasp as I heard screams of pain. I slowly walked to where I see the three and quickly hid behind a crate Morgana was sitting on.

'Okay I'm gonna get noticed if they move, which is most likely they will after some time. If only I could just turn completely invisible like how I usually do.' I thought, not noticing myself becoming even more like a shadow as I hid behind the crate. The screams of pain were even louder now, making me almost wince.

"Dammit! This is bullshit!" Sakamoto shouted in anger, scarring me a bit.

"How many times do I have to tell you to keep your voice down!?" Morgana whispered yelled to him.

"But this is beyond messed up!" There was a pause before Sakamoto yelled again. "How do I open this?"

"Stop it!" I jolted when I heard an unfamiliar voice. I looked to the side of the crate to see another volleyball team member walking to the bars. "Leave us alone, it's useless."

"Huh!?"

"If we stay obedient, we won't be executed like you guys!" Another member said.

"You're tellin' me you wanna stay in a place like this!?"

"Wait a minute, were you planning on taking these guys out of here?" Morgana asked the two males.

"We can't just leave'em here!" Sakamoto reasoned.

"How stupid can you be?"

"What!?" Sakamoto yelled while Amamiya-kun asked calmly.

"These are only humans in Kamoshida's cognition." Morgana explained with an annoyed tone. "They aren't real humans that have entered from reality. They're different from you two."

"Cognition?" Sakamoto said in confusion.

"It means there's no point in saving them! They're different from the real ones in the real world." Morgana exclaimed. "You could say that these are extremely similar-looking dolls."

'I wonder what my cognitive self is doing. Actually she probably doesn't exist, no one really sees me. I guess that could be considered as a good thing since with how Kamoshida sees the volleyball team.'

"The hell!? Why's it gotta be so complicated!?" Sakamoto shouted. "So the school's a castle, and the students are slaves. It's so on point that it makes me laugh. This really is the inside of that asshole's head!"

I could see Morgana hop down from the crate and walk to the bars. "Still, this is horrible. It must mean he treats them as slaves in the real world too."

"In the real world too?" Sakamoto and Amamiya-kun repeated.

"Wait, I know these guys. They're members of the volleyball team, the one Kamoshida coaches for!" Sakamoto realized. Though it was easy to recognize them from the team uniform.

"They must be physically abused every day. There's no way they'd be so beat up normally." Morgana said.

"Don't tell me. They're going through similar shit in reality!?"

"Most likely. I mean, this proves that Kamoshida thinks of them as slaves."

"So it might be for real." Sakamoto said. "I heard that Kamoshida's usin' physical punishment. They're just rumors, but." He paused. "If they're true, wouldn't this be somethin' to report to the police?"

I could see Sakamoto take his phone out. "I'll use these guys as evidence. If it all goes well, we can take down that asshole Kamoshida!" I couldn't see what Sakamoto was exactly doing, but I could guess he was gonna take photographic evidence.

"Huh? It's not workin'!?" He exclaimed. "We can use the navigation app, but the camera's a no go!?"

"A navigation app?" Morgana asked.

"That's what we used to come here." Sakamoto explained. "What about yours dude?"

I looked to see Amamiya-kun take out his phone as well. "No, it won't even open." He said.

"Whatever you do in fine, but we're gonna get caught if we stand around like this. We need to head back!" Morgana said.

"Hold on a sec." Sakamoto looked closer to the bars. "There's no other way. I'll just memorize their faces before goin' home!" And so the three ran towards the cells, stopping at one to check out before moving on.

I decided to stay back, waiting for the right time to follow them. Because to be honest, I want to go home real bad right now. Once they went through the door of the entrance I got up and followed, after some running a sudden voice rang out through the area.

"The watch post near the training hall has ceased reporting! Chances of intruder activity are extremely high! All personnel increase security measures!" I got scared of being found and ran faster after the three. I immediately stopped when I see them get stopped by guards and someone else I couldn't see well in the large entrance hall.

"You knaves again?" A voice ranged out. "To think you'd make the same mistake again. You're hopeless!"

"The school ain't your castle!" Sakamoto yelled back at the person, who I could tell was Kamoshida now because of his voice. "I've memorized their faces real good. You're goin' down!"

"It seems it's true when they say 'barking dogs seldom bite'." Kamoshida said. "How far the star runner of track team has fallen."

"The hell are you gettin' at!?"

"I speak of the 'Track Traitor' who acted in violence, ending his teammates' dreams."

I remembered that, I was nearby when it happened. Sakamoto had attempted to hit Kamoshida after he taunted him by mentioning his parents. I felt bad since I'm in a similar situation with my own mother leaving back to America.

"Oh, I can imagine the pain of the others who were dragged under with your selfish act."

I could see Sakamoto not being able to respond while Amamiya-kun looked confused from their body language.

"Violence?"

"What a surprise. So you're accompanying him without knowing anything at all?" Kamoshida asked. "He betrayed his teammates and crushed their hopes, yet he still carries on as carefree as ever."

"That's not true!" Sakamoto denied.

"You've come along with this fool and are now going to end up dead. How unlucky of you." My eyes widened at Kamoshida's words. He's gonna kill them? "Go. Kill them all. Don't sully my castle with garbage."

"Ryuji move!" Morgana shouted as they and Amamiya-kun ran in front of Sakamoto. "We're surrounded!"

"I'll kill you!" One of the guards that turned into these monters shouted. "I'll kill you 'cause King Kamoshida told us! I'll kill 'cause that's what he wants!" Each of the monsters attacked Morgana and Amamiya-kun, knocking them down. As they attempted to get up, Kamoshida and the golden guard pinned them down with their foot.

"I bet you simply came here on a whim and ended up like this. Isn't that right?" Kamoshida said to Sakamoto was now on his knees.

"No."

"What a worthless piece of trash, getting emotional so quickly." Kamoshida mocked. "How dare you raise your hand at me. Though it was temporary, have you forgotten my kindness in supervising track practice?"

"It wasn't no practice! It was physical abuse! You just didn't like our team!" Sakamoto said as he banged his fists on the carpeted floor.

"It was nothing but an eyesore! The only one who needs to achieve results is me! That coach who got fired was hopeless too." Kamoshida said. "Had he not opposed me with a sound argument, I would've settled it with only breaking his star's leg." I gasped quietly.

"What?"

"Do you need me to deal with your other leg too? The school will call it self-defense anyway!"

'He attacked Sakamoto?' I remembered when students kept on talking about Sakamoto supposedly attacking Kamoshida. But after seeing and hearing all of this I'm glad Kamoshida never noticed me.

"Dammit. Am I gonna lose again?" I could faintly hear Sakamoto say. "Not only can I not run anymore, the track team is gone too 'cause of this asshole!"

"Once these two are dealt with, your next." Kamoshida threatened, followed by a menacing laugh.

"Ryuji!" Morgana yelled.

"Don't let him win!" Amamiya-kun yelled.

"You're right. Everything that was important to me was taken by him, I'll never get 'em back!"

"Stay there and watch. Look on as these hopeless scum die for nothing because they sided with trash like you."

"No. That's what you are!" Sakamoto exclaimed as he stood up. "All you think about is using people. You're the real scumbag, Kamoshida!" He started to walk toward Kamoshida when he yelled.

"What are you doing!? Silence him!"

"Stop lookin' down on me with stupid smile on your face!"

Suddenly Sakamoto clutched his head and started to scream in agonizing pain. Falling to the floor scratching at it, I stepped back as a mask appeared on his face. Then he ripped if off his face, showing the place it was on completely bloody. Blue flames bursted out from him as he still screamed, the force knocking me back a bit. I looked back to see Sakamoto in a completely different outfit with a giant skeleton pirate on a floating ship behind him. I stood there completely in shock trying to process what happened as the three began to fight the guards.

"What troublemakers that bother King Kamoshida with trifle matters!" The golden guard yelled as it turned into a armored knight on a horse.

"Kamoshida's cognition ain't changin' right? Then I'll act like the troublemaker I am!" Soon the three started to beat the guards and defeat them with ease.

"I am, a loyal subject of the great King Kamoshida." The knight groaned in pain. "So why, have I lost!?"

"It just proves that Kamoshida ain't anything special." Sakamoto replied.

After the knight disappeared, I could see that Sakamoto was exhausted. He had is hands on his knees and was panting. "How 'bout that!?"

"I told you that this is my castle. It seems you still don't understand." Kamoshida said as his voice continued to ring out. Suddenly a girl in a bikini walked out toward Kamoshida.

"Wha-Takamaki!?" Sakamoto exclaimed in shock, making me surprised how I didn't recognize her just from her hair. I could see Morgana looking weirdly at Takamaki-san but I couldn't quite hear what it was saying. Then Kamoshida turned to Takamaki-san and started to cradle her chin in his hand. "Hey! Let go of her, you perv!"

"How many times must I tell you until you understand?" Kamoshida turned back to the three. "This is MY castle, a place in which I can do whatever I want. Everyone wishes to be loved by me. That everyone besides slow-witted thieves like you."

"Takamaki! Say somethin'!"

"Calm down, Ryuji! It seems that girl isn't the real one." I could faintly hear Morgana explain. "She's the same as those slaves, a being made from Kamoshida's cognition of her!"

"Are you jealous?" Kamoshida asked mockingly. "Well I'm not surprised. Women aren't drawn to problematic punks like you."

I gagged as I heard that. 'Yeah and women aren't drawn to someone who acts like an egotistical asshole! And what you're wearing isn't helping!'

"Clean them up this instant!" More guards appeared out of nowhere, I tried my best to take quiet steps as I sneaked to a pillar near the exit. I could also hear what they're saying better over her as well.

"We're outnumbered. Let's scram before we get surrounded!" Morgana shouted.

"We're not gonna do anything and just run!?"

"Just shut up and go!" Amamiya-kun yelled at Sakamoto.

"Thank god you got a level head."

"Fine! We'll expose what you really are, no matter what! You better be ready for us!"

"I was beginning to get bored of torturing the ones here!" Kamoshida laughed. "Come at me whenever you want, if you don't care about your life!"

"Ignore him, let's go!" The three then ran away to the castle entrance outside. I followed after them when Kamoshida walked away with the fake Takamaki-san and the guards. After finally getting outside, I could see the three talking for a bit before Sakamoto and Amamiya-kun ran off leaving Morgana behind.

"Oh hell no! Get back here! GRAAGGGHHH!" I hear the cat-like creature shouted in anger. I slowly walked up to the cat creature an kneeled down to it's level, poking it's shoulder. "Huh!? Ahh!"

It jumped back and took a fighting stance. "Who are you!?"

"Relax, I'm not one of those fakes. I'm the same as Amamiya-kun and Sakamoto." I said calmly, slightly bringing my hands up in a surrender position.

"You mean Ryuji and Frizzy Hair?"

"Yes, I followed them."

"You what?" Morgana then jumped toward me. "How come I didn't notice you." He mumbled to himself.

"I was hiding as I followed, I was able to see and listen to everything." I explained, bringing my hand up to pet the cat-like creature. "And I want to know everything about this place."

"Why do you want to know? What's in it for me?" It then smacked my hand. "Stop that!"

"Well I believe it would be helpful to know. And in return, I can help you find those two."

"You can?" I nodded in reply and picked Morgana up.

"Yep!" I started to pet it again, smiling as it started to purr.

"I see." Morgana purred. "Well then, you got yourself a deal! I'll tell you what I know in exchange for helping find those two."

"Alright. So how do I get out?" I asked, looking around.

"Try checking your phone."

"Oh I don't think I have that app." I said as I took my phone app and low and behold there's was an app I haven't seen before. It had a weird black eye icon on a red background. "Okay so I just press this and-" Suddenly the world sifted again and the next thing I see is the castle as the school again.

"Alright so where are those two." Morgana asked, looking around. I jumped when I saw it as a normal cat.

"Whoa! You're so soft like this! And wait, you can still talk?" I started to pet the cat again, feeling the soft fur against my skin.

"It's part of your cognition changing, once you realize I can talk that cognition changed and now you can hear me talk."

"That kinda makes sense, I guess." I shook my head. "Anyway, let's head to my house. It's getting late."

"What!?"

"It's getting late, it'll be easier to find them at school tomorrow." I said as I started to walk home. Morgana just sighed and relaxed in my arms.

As I arrived home I could hear my father still typing on his laptop. I went to my room and set Morgana on my bed. "I'll get you some food, you must be hungry." I walked over to the fridge and found a can of tuna, it's the best I had so I grabbed the can and put the tuna on a small plate after draining the tuna. I walked back to my room and set the plate next to Morgana. "Here ya go."

"Thank you." The cat then started to eat the tuna. Once they finished eating I grabbed the plate and put it in the sink.

"So your name's Morgana right?" I asked as I walked back into my room.

"Yep."

"Okay then, tell me everything about that place. And maybe even about yourself." I said as I sat down on my bed.

"Alright."

"So this is what your school normally looks like?" Morgana asked as he peeked out from my school bag.

"Hey! Don't show yourself!" I whispered to him, softly pushing his head back into the bag.

"But didn't you say that no one notices you? Would it matter if I peek out?" He peeked out of the bag again, talking normally.

"Whatever." I walked through the entrance, making my way towards the roof. "Okay I have to get to class, try walking around without getting caught. If you don't find them then that's okay, we'll try again the next day."

"Okay." I then left Morgana to get to class, seeing Amamiya-kun and others already at their desk. I sat at mine as Kawakami-sensei entered.

OKAY I'M CUTTING IT OFF HERE!!!!! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A LOT!!! This is about two whole usual chapter length! I didn't know where to cut off, and since it's long please tell me if you see any mistakes.

Anyway I have a question, which palace should the reader gain her persona? It has to be after the first palace.

I have an idea for the second, but in order for it to work she would have to be childhood friends with a certain someone.

It doesn't really work for the whole "forbidden" theme I'm going for. But if it seems interesting to you guys then I can find a way to work with it.

Edit- I'm going back to edit the MC's name since it was officially revealed to be Ren Amamiya (for the games/anime). I honestly like Akira Kurusu, but I'll start liking it eventually (or at least get used to the name)
