Preparing
I rushed out of the studio and burst home. I'm going on a date with Mick Jagger, THE Mick Jagger, the severity of the situation suddenly hit me.
Now I know what those girls were talking..er...screaming about. Those dazzling eyes, those pursed lips, wow.
I flopped down onto my bed and put my hands behind my head, smiling. He asked me on a date, oh my oh my.
My smile bent into a frown and I looked into my closet, I hadn't dressed up in a long time, so I had nothing.
Just what I would wear to work usually, so, nothing fancy. Bleh.
I decided to just go shopping, just to look around though.
The mall was crowded, very crowded, all these people were rushing around everywhere. It was October, so most of the kids were running around everywhere while their rushed parents were trying to keep up.
I wandered up to a store and saw lots of people.
People people people.
There were some pretty nice things here, all very nice, all very expensive.
My hand felt along the fine fabrics and stopped on a nice, checkered skirt.
I pulled it from the rack and examined it, very beautiful....and on clearance!
I left the store with a bag in my hand and continued on my way.

Later that night, as I sat at my dinner table trying to make a card house, I heard a knock at my door.
Wonder who it could be? I thought as I rushed over to the door, abandoning the small card house which was now in ruins.
Opening the door and peering out, I saw someone unexpected; Brian Jones.
"Brian?"
I arched an eyebrow and looked at him, "what's up?"
That's when he looked up, and a look of surprise caught his features.
"Um..."
He opened and closed his mouth as if trying to think of something to say.
"Are you alright?"
I was starting to get concerned; why had he showed up, looking all determined, only to look surprised when I answered the door?
"I..ah..I hope you have a nice...um evening?"
He said it as a question and my eyebrows knitted together, then he turned to walk away.
He looked so lonely.
His shoes came to the sidewalk.
He bent his head.
"Wait"
I closed my eyes and opened the door fully, I don't know why though.
"You should come in, it's starting to rain and there are a tone of thugs out at night"
I said as rain started to patter on the road.
He turned around slowly and headed back to my door; "um, thank you, sorry, I'm like a stranger to you in your house I'm sorry"
He put his hands behind his back and sighed.
We were getting soaked out here and I had no idea why I just asked him to come inside.
"Here are some extra pillows and a blanket, you can sleep on the couch I guess."
I handed over a blanket and pillow and Brian headed to the couch.
"Thank you, Ruby, um, don't worry, I won't try anything"
He smiled uneasily at me before setting himself up on the couch.
I shrugged and headed to my room.
As I was getting my bed ready, I thought.
Why had Brian come here?
Why wasn't he at his hotel with the others?
My last thought as I drifted off to sleep was; how did he know where I lived?
