chapter ten!
i wanna be yours!
LEE AND SAMIRA ENTERED THE GYM as loud music blared from the speakers. She had on a floral dress with pink heels. Her curly hair was put up into a ponytail, embroidered with pearl hair clips. Even though Greg had stood her up, she didn't want the dress to go to waste. The two sat at a table, watching as their classmates danced and conversed. "I'll be right back. Do you want anything to drink?"
"Uh, I'll have a Coke." Samira nodded her head as she walked to the food table. Issac looked up from his phone, deciding to tease his brother. "You're so in love with her, dude."
"Aren't you in love with Kia? You were dying to ask her to this." Issac rolled his eyes, fixing his hair. "I'm not in love with her. And so? She's not as bad as I thought she'd be." The said girl entered the room, leaving the cocky boy speechless. "And that's my cue. Have fun, big bro."
Lee was walking in Samira's direction when he was blocked by Greg. "Uh, could you move?" Lee asked in an annoyed tone. "I know that you're related to Cole but I didn't think you'd be like him. I mean, dating my ex girlfriend? That's just low." Lee scoffed, an annoyed laugh escaping his lips. "And you moving on with Mary? Now, that's just low. Mira put everything into your relationship and you just, what, threw it away? So don't you talk about low because you're just reaching new heights. So move." The skater brushed past him, walking away.
"Sam really deserves so much better. I mean, someone who lives with such a loud and annoying family? Yeah, that's a great standard." Lee couldn't even control himself, wrestling with him. The boy yelled, punching Lee stomach. "You're fucking crazy!" Greg exclaimed. "Keep my family's name out of your mouth, you dick!" he exclaimed, punching Greg in the face. "Get off of my brother!" Issac stated, running to the scene.
Little did he know Samira was watching.
THE FIGHT COOLED DOWN as the two boys were instructed to stay away from each other. Lee's nose had stopped bleeding as she inspected the damage. "I'm sorry, Mira. My hand just... moved and I couldn't help myself. But Greg was being a little prick."
"I know, Lee. I saw the whole thing. He deserved it." she stated, gently holding his chin. "You didn't deserve that at all. Actually, I'm gonna do something about it." Samira stood up, walking over to Mary and Greg. "Greg, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked, causing the boy to smile. "Whatever you want to say, you can say it in front of me and my girl."
"Don't you ever harass Lee again. Also, so what if he's dating me? You lost your chance and you need to wake the fuck up. I've moved on yet you're obsessed with me. If I ever hear either one of you talk shit about him or his family, I won't hesitate to rock your fucking shit. And leave me alone from now on. Do you hear me?" Now, Samira was never the one to use profanity that often. But something in her snapped that night as she glared at Greg. "I'm not obsessed with you. You're just being delusional."
"And you're being a bitch. Have fun being each other's lapdog." Samira walked away from the couple, anger written all over her face. She sat next to Lee, her exterior relaxing. "Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, inspecting for any bruises. "Yes, Mira. Did he say something to you?"
"No. Also, he won't be bothering us for a long time." Lee held her hand, kissing her knuckle. "You're scary... I like it." Samira's cheeks heated up as she giggled, looking at him. "Uh, thank you? But do you want to dance? We still have time."
Lee's eyes widened, looking at her. "Uh... I can't really dance." he stated. "If I could skateboard, you can dance. Come on." As she led him onto the dance floor, she couldn't ignore the butterflies in her stomach. But one thing was for certain.
He was rubbing off on her.
