four. sick to the stomach

chapter four!

sick to the stomach!

LEE WAS WAITING IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL, OPENING HIS PHONE TO text Samira. The girl had gotten sick before they could execute their plan, causing him to visit with some soup. Was she still sick? Samira and Liam walked up to Kia, Paige, and Brady. "Hey guys!"

"Sam! You're back! You're not sick anymore!" Paige exclaimed, hugging the girl. "Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better." The curly haired girl was dressed in a white long sleeved off the shoulder top, checkered pleated skirt, and corduroy Ugg's. Samira noticed Lee, giving him a small smile. "Hey, Lee." Lee's cheeks turned pink as he cleared his throat. "Hey, Samira."

"How are you doing today?"

"I'm pretty tired, actually. What about you?"

"I'm feeling good. I feel much better, actually, now that I'm not sick anymore. Thanks for the soup, by the way. It was delicious."

"No problem. I'll be sure to tell my aunt that you liked it." Issac walked up to the duo, wearing a smile. "You're so whipped for her, bro." he whispered as Lee gave him a slight push. "Shut up, dude!"

"You know that it's true!" Issac exclaimed through laughs, eventually walking over to Kia. "Please ignore him. He can be a pain in the ass sometimes."

"He also loves arguing with Kia.  I just don't get why they hate each other so much."

"Me neither. Who knows? Maybe they'll finally get along for once." Samira laughed as Lee's cheeks turned pink once again. Her laugh was really cute in his opinion, "What's so funny?"

"I don't think they'll ever get along, Lee.  It'll take a miracle for that to happen."

"I mean... they're working on that project together.  Hopefully it helps them."

"Yeah, hopefully.  Otherwise, it's going to be another school year of Kia wanting to strangle your brother."

"Kia wants to strangle Issac?"

"I don't think she does but she really hates him."

"I can tell.  I find it funny how my brother hates her yet he talks a lot about her."

"Maybe he has a little crush on her."

"I don't know, maybe? It's hard to tell." The doors of the school opened as them and their fellow classmates entered.  Samira felt an arm around her shoulder as she walked to her locker, relieved it was just Lee. "What class do you have first period? I can walk with you." the curly haired girl stated as she took her books out. The boy couldn't help but notice the way she styled her hair in two space buns with two strands framing her face. "I have math.  You don't have to do that, you know."

"But I do. Plus, as your girlfriend, it's nice to walk together. Please?"  Lee crossed his arms, closing his eyes.  "No."  Samira looked at him, cracking his harsh exterior.  "Please, Lee."  The boy sighed, meeting her eyes.  "Fine."

"Great! Do you have your stuff? I can wait for you."

"Uh, no.  Let me get my books real quick."  He opened his locker, grabbing his things.  "We can go now."  With that, she gently took his hand as she led him down the hallway.  "But how is your family doing? Is everything okay?"

"Cole's a player as always, Alex is good, my brother's still annoying, and my cousins can be a lot.  What about you?"

"My family's doing great.  Oh, I forgot to tell you.  My parents are catering for Will's event."

"Really?" Lee asked as they walked past their peers. "Yeah. Hey, at least we'll get to see each other." she said with a smile.  "Yeah." Lee said with a nod, still holding her hand.  Her smile was so soft and beautiful, he could get lost in it.  "And... we're here."

The boy was broken out of his thoughts, looking at her.  They were standing in front of his math class as a few students were sitting down.  "Yeah... we are."  Samira smiled at him, giving his hand a tight squeeze.  "I'll see you at lunch." she said, kissing him on the cheek.  As she removed her hand from his, she didn't notice the slight blush on Lee's cheeks.  He cleared his throat, noticing she had left.  "See you at lunch." he muttered, walking into the room.

What he had forgotten was that Greg was in the same class, just witnessing the two.

IT WAS FINALLY TIME FOR LUNCH as Samira opened her locker and put her things away. Closing the door, she jumped in fright. "Greg? Um... hi. What are... what are you doing here?" she asked. "Since when were you dating Cole's cousin?" he questioned.  Samira felt chills down her spine as she held her notebook in her arms.  "Why do you ask? Listen, I need to get to lunch."  She walked away, causing him to catch up to her.  "It's weird how we broke up for two months and now you're dating my former teammate's cousin.  Did our relationship mean nothing to you?"

Samira turned around, looking at Greg.  "Look, it meant something to me but that was two months ago, Greg.  You dumped me for... for some random girl and you dare to ask me that question? The nerve you have to question my motives when I have the right to date whoever I want, especially when you broke my heart. So yes, I'm dating Lee and I've been dating him since yesterday. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy a nice lunch with my boyfriend." She walked away from the boy and into the cafeteria. She smiled to herself, feeling proud about telling him off.

"Hey, Lee. Hi... you're Nathan, right?" The said boy gave her a small smile, nodding his head. "I am. You must be Samira! You can sit with us." The girl sat next to Lee, placing her notebook on the table. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna get something to eat." She stood up to go on the line, leaving Nathan, Lee, and Danny alone. "Uh... I'll be back."

Samira grabbed a tray from the counter, ordering food from one of the lunch ladies.  Lee tapped her shoulder, causing her to look up.  "Hm?"

"Let me pay for that." he stated as she took her tray.  "Thank you, m'aam.  Lee, you really don't have to do that."

"Isn't that what boyfriends do?" he asked.  "Well, yes.  But I can pay for my things." she answered.  "Please.  Plus, it's the least I can do."

"Okay." she stated as she walked towards the cashier.  Lee paid for her lunch as the two walked back to the table. As she ate, Nathan and Danny couldn't help but notice the way their cousin's cheeks flushed when she was around. "So... Samira... what's up with you and Lee? He isn't causing you any trouble, is he?" Danny teased, causing Lee to roll his eyes. "Cut it out."

Samira had finished her food, giving the two a smile.  "Me and Lee are..."

"We're friends." Lee stated, not wanting to tell his cousins the truth.  They could be very nosy and he didn't want Samira to get caught up in that.  "Are you sure?"

"Yes." Samira couldn't help but snicker at their dynamic, laughing.  "But how come you're not dating anyone? You're very pretty." Nathan stated to her.  "I'm... I'm dating someone, actually."

"Really? Who?" Danny questioned.  "Why do you guys ask so many questions?" Lee asked, rolling his eyes.  Samira threw out her garbage from her tray, taking her notebook and putting on her bag.  "But it was nice meeting you two."

"Same here.  Bye, Samira."  As the curly haired girl walked away, she gestured for Lee to follow her.  The boy sighed, taking his stuff.

So much for them being just friends.
