Well Jersey got nearly two feet of snow this week. Gerard and I actually had a great time shoveling it, and for once I wasn't sarcastic about it. It was freezing, of course, but we had fun dumping snow on each other and messing around like we were young kids playing in the snow. There was one point where we both slipped on the ice and fell into the snow nearly on top of each other. That got a lot of laughs out of us. When we had finished shoveling the snow we went back inside, freezing and wet.
"I'm gonna take a hot shower," I said and raked my fingers through my icy hair.
"Wait," he replied and I stopped in my tracks. I watched him light the fire on the fireplace, and I knew what he was gonna say now. "Come lay with me?"

"Of course. Let me get changed first," I smiled and went into the bedroom to change into dry clothes, as Gerard did the same. I threw on a black long-sleeved shirt and leggings.
"Horror or sci-fi?" I asked him.
"Both?" He raised his eyebrows excitedly.
I chuckled. "I knew it." We picked out some of our favorite horror and science fiction films. It was cool to have a boyfriend with the same taste in movies.
I laid on the rug in the living room close to the fire. Gerard wrapped a blanket around me and lied down close to me, putting his head in my chest. I ran my fingers through his wet, red hair that was slowly drying from the heat of the fireplace.
We laughed at the scary parts of the horror movies, and cried in the science fiction movies when our favorite characters died.
I felt so warm, inside and outside. Being with Gerard really made me happy. We both cared about each other so much, and I loved that. It was almost too perfect, which sometimes made me worry that something would go wrong someday like all the sci-fi movies that we watched.
After the movies were done, we didn't want to move. It was the afternoon now, and it had begun snowing again. We would probably have to shovel the snow again tomorrow. Gerard and I still remained in the same warm position, only now my head was in his chest.
"You know it's snowing again, right?" I asked him.
"God, again?" He sighed. "At least shoveling snow with you is fun because we get to act like little kids again."
"Not teenagers?" I giggled.
Gerard shook his head quickly. "No. Not them. Teenagers are too violent."
